A Study on the Relationship between Supply Factors of Liner Shipping Market and Shanghai Freight Index

Previous studies have tried to analyze the correlation through the empirical analysis of the freight, demand and supply variables of the self-surveyed areas in the area mainly involved in the factors and variables affecting the maritime freight. However, The SCFI Comprehensive index, which is widely used in practice, is an area where researchers have not been interested. In this regard, this dissertation first examines factors and variables affecting the freight rate of liner freight, based on the literature study and previous study, and also examines freight decision theory and Freight Index, extracts variables by demand factors, supply factors and other factors and then collected relevant databases. This dissertation have tried to secure a weekly database or a monthly database as much as possible. Six research data were selected based on the importance and monthly database in the collected databases. The study data are SCFI Comprehensive index, HRCI (Howe Robinson Container Index), Time charter Index, Bunker 380CST, Order book, and CNTRSHIP Fleet. Monthly time series data of variables were analyzed through Unit root test, Vector autoregressive model (VAR), Impulse response analysis and Forecast error variance decomposition. The empirical results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the selected research data were analyzed by time series analysis using Eviews. Second, supply variables affecting SCFI Comprehensive index are orderbook, time charter index, and CNTRSHIP Fleet. Third, the proportion of supply variables affecting SCFI Comprehensive index, Orderbook: 2.7573%, Time charter Index: 1.5598%, CNTRSHIP Fleet: 1.1603%, HRCI: 0.8356%, Bunker: 0.0594% of the total. In other words, Oderbook had the greatest impact, while Bunker had the least impact. 수요자 활용 증대를 위한 물류현황조사의 개선 방향

1.서론 물류의 중요성이 인지되고 물류의 효율화가 사회적 화두로 제기되기 시작한지도 20여 년이 흘렀다. 아직도 물류가 구체적으로 무엇인지에 애매모호한 부분이 있고 물류활동이 차지하는 영역에 대해서도 이견이 있다. 하지만 시간적, 공간적 차이를 극복하여 부가가치를 창출하는 물류의 순기능에 대해서는 모두가 인정하는 추세이다. 흔히 물류의 주체를 논할 때 공공부문을 앞세우기보다는 민간부문을 강조한다. 물류활동이 기업을 중심으로 이루어지고 부가가치 역시 제조활동을 통하여 가장 크게 창출되기 때문이다. 따라서 물류활동에서 나타나는 여러 가지 문제를 파악하고 해결방안을 모색하는 것도 당연히 민간부문이 주도해야 하지만 역설적으로 이 부분에서 공공부문의 관여가 필요하다. 민간부문이 주도하는 물류활동의 최대 목표는 부가가치의 극대화이다. 개인이든 또는 기업이든 최소한의 노력으로 저마다의 수익을 극대화 시키려 한다. 그래서 개별적 물류활동이 다른 물류활동의 주체나 사회 구성원에 미치는 피해나 연쇄적인 악영향에 대해서는 깊이 고려하지 않는다. 예건대 어느 기업이 고속도로 인터체인지 주변에 물류센터를 건설하여 물류성과를 거두었다는 소식을 듣고 다른 기업들이 인접 부지를 매입하여 다수의 물류센터를 건설하였다고 가정하자. 일시에 과다한 통행수요가 발생하여 교통 혼잡을 초래하고 전기, 수도 등 기반시설의 부족으로 주변지역 거주민의 생활환경이 저하됨은 물론 중장기적으로 균형 있는 공간배치와 토지이용을 방해하여 지역발전에 악영향을 미치게 될 것이다. 그러므로 개별기업의 최적화가 반드시 사회 전체의 최적화로 이어진다는 보장이 없으며, 일정 수준 공공부문의 관여를 통해 예상되는 문제점을 발굴하고 해결방안을 모색하게 된다
