The contemporary knowledge-based economy requires global usage of information in all aspects of modern society. Pertinent information is an important asset for successful business, therefore an application of knowledge management in organisational practice has become a crucial factor for the viability and sustainable development of enterprises. This is particularly relevant for the agricultural context, which needs modern practices for enhancement and development. However, information and knowledge, due to their intangible character, seem difficult to manage and organize. Therefore the paper targeted at developing sustainable organizational model of knowledge management for small and medium enterprises. Italian agriculture is considered as a context for this study, and knowledge management was offered as a tool for facilitating agricultural performance and increasing competitiveness of agricultural sector. A wide concept of knowledge management and specified agricultural context require a theory-based approach to research and a survey. Thus, the research methodology includes the next four parts. The first one contains literature review and examines definitions, strategies, approaches and models of sustainable knowledge management. The second part includes content analysis of 105 scientific publications. The third part of methodology is based on the results of the two previous parts and includes creating the model of knowledge management. Verification of this model is the last part of the research. Verification was executed through on-line questionnaire distributed to Italian agricultural enterprises throughout the country on their intentions and awareness towards knowledge management and developed model of knowledge management. The results of the survey have demonstrated farmer’s incentives to implement the developed knowledge management model with flexible approach in its organisation

Knowledge management as a key stone of sustainable welfare in the Italian rural areas

Sustainable well-being in the rural areas directly depends on their sustainable development. However, sustainable management in contemporary agriculture does not come easy for farmers due to different challenges and quality standards. To meet these challenges and to achieve sustainable development, the agricultural enterprises need an informational support. Therefore this article offers knowledge management as a tool for facilitating agricultural performance and enhancing quality of rural life.Practical application of knowledge management is quite complicated due to its intangible characteristics. Hence, the paper is targeted at developing sustainable organizational model of knowledge management affordable for small and medium enterprises. This model was created after content-analysis of the literature and was verified through an executed survey. The Italian agriculture was considered as a context for this study

Blow-up analysis for some mean field equations involving probability measures from statistical hydrodynamics

Motivated by the mean field equations with probability measure derived by Sawada-Suzuki and by Neri in the context of the statistical mechanics description of two-dimensional turbulence, we study the semilinear elliptic equation with probability measure: {equation*} -\Delta v=\lambda\int_I V(\alpha,x,v)e^{\alpha v}\,\Pda -\frac{\lambda}{|\Omega|}\iint_{I\times\Om}V(\alpha,x,v)e^{\alpha v}\,\Pda dx, {equation*} defined on a compact Riemannian surface. This equation includes the above mentioned equations of physical interest as special cases. For such an equation we study the blow-up properties of solution sequences. The optimal Trudinger-Moser inequality is also considered

Challenge and potential of future agricultural development in Jordan:role of education and entrepreneurship

The paper examines the status of agriculture development in Jordan, current challenges and potential of future development. Aim of the study is to find out the role of education and entrepreneurship in fostering agriculture development in Jordan through: introducing new technologies into the sector; applying modern and global marketing perspective, and youth entrepreneurship empowerment. This study is based on theoretical approach based on secondary research, and primary research includes two surveys were carried out at this study. Like various studies this study confirmed that water scarcity is the main challenge facing agriculture development in Jordan, and the sector is less developed than other sectors in the country. Nevertheless, this study added that youth entrepreneurship low participation in the sector is not only due to financial shortage and youth insufficient knowledge, but it's due to their low attitude to working in agriculture too. Therefore, it is suggested that there is a need for significant paradigm shift in the education system to meet the needs of the market. Also utilizing the role of R&D to enhance the management of water resources and emphasize desalination and wastewater reuse, and change youth's attitude to working in agriculture. Add to the aforementioned that there is a need to provide more financial and technical support to attract and help youth entrepreneurs to invest in the sector

Single and double slit scattering of wave packets

The scattering of wave packets from a single slit and a double slit with the Schr\"odinger equation, is studied numerically and theoretically. The phenomenon of diffraction of wave packets in space and time in the backward region, previously found for barriers and wells, is encountered here also. A new phenomenon of forward diffraction that occurs only for packets thiner than the slit, or slits, is calculated numerically as well as, in a theoretical approximation to the problem. This diffraction occurs at the opposite end of the usual diffraction phenomena with monochromatic waves.Comment: Latex format, 35 pages, 15 eps (some colored) figure

Understanding Media Relations in the Age of Convergence: A Metatheoretical Taxonomy

Multimediality, crossmediality, intermediality, transmediality. Over the last three decades, media (as well as comparative) studies have been characterized by the emergence of new categories, aimed at describing and analysing the variety of relations established by different media in the age of convergence. Despite their widespread diffusion in many research fields, however, these categories still lack a shared and stable meaning, having eluded any attempt of theoretical systematization so far. As a consequence, they tend to overlap semantically, making it impossible for scholars to share a common vocabulary. The objective of this paper is to propose a meta-theoretical rearrangement of the abovementioned categories, with the aim of outlining a systematic taxonomy in which each term can find a definition and a position
