    The Relation of Spatial and Tensor Product of Arveson Systems --- The Random Set Point of View

    We characterise the embedding of the spatial product of two Arveson systems into their tensor product using the random set technique. An important implication is that the spatial tensor product does not depend on the choice of the reference units, i.e. it is an intrinsic construction. There is a continuous range of examples coming from the zero sets of Bessel processes where the two products do not coincide. The lattice of all subsystems of the tensor product is analised in different cases. As a by-product, the Arveson systems coming from Bessel zeros prove to be primitive in the sense of \cite{JMP11a}

    Any general statement as to whether the secular trend of a society is eugenic or dysgenic depends upon a reliable calibration of the measurement of general intelligence. Richard Lynn set the mean IQ of the United Kingdom at 100 with a standard deviation of 15, and he calculated the mean IQs of other countries in relation to this “Greenwich IQ”. But because the UK test scores are declining, the present paper recalibrates the mean IQ 100 to the average of seven countries having a historical mean IQ of 100. By comparing Lynn-Vanhanen-IQ with PISA scores and educational attainment of native and foreign born populations transformed into IQ, we confirmed brain gain and brain drain in a number of nations during recent decades. Furthermore, the growth of gross domestic product per capita can be derived as a linear function of the percentage of people with an IQ above 105 and its underlying frequency of a hypothetical major gene of intelligence.General intelligence; PISA; GDP; Dysgenics; Smart fraction theory; Immigration

    Discrete Morse theory for moment-angle complexes of pairs (D^n,S^{n-1})

    For a finite simplicial complex K and a CW-pair (X,A), there is an associated CW-complex Z_K(X,A), known as a polyhedral product. We apply discrete Morse theory to a particular CW-structure on the n-sphere moment-angle complexes Z_K(D^{n}, S^{n-1}). For the class of simplicial complexes with vertex-decomposable duals, we show that the associated n-sphere moment-angle complexes have the homotopy type of wedges of spheres. As a corollary we show that a sufficiently high suspension of any restriction of a simplicial complex with vertex-decomposable dual is homotopy equivalent to a wedge of spheres.Comment: Corollary 1.2 and 1 reference added.
