Unbounded-Error Classical and Quantum Communication Complexity
Since the seminal work of Paturi and Simon \cite[FOCS'84 & JCSS'86]{PS86},
the unbounded-error classical communication complexity of a Boolean function
has been studied based on the arrangement of points and hyperplanes. Recently,
\cite[ICALP'07]{INRY07} found that the unbounded-error {\em quantum}
communication complexity in the {\em one-way communication} model can also be
investigated using the arrangement, and showed that it is exactly (without a
difference of even one qubit) half of the classical one-way communication
complexity. In this paper, we extend the arrangement argument to the {\em
two-way} and {\em simultaneous message passing} (SMP) models. As a result, we
show similarly tight bounds of the unbounded-error two-way/one-way/SMP
quantum/classical communication complexities for {\em any} partial/total
Boolean function, implying that all of them are equivalent up to a
multiplicative constant of four. Moreover, the arrangement argument is also
used to show that the gap between {\em weakly} unbounded-error quantum and

Non-standard quantum so(3,2) and its contractions
A full (triangular) quantum deformation of so(3,2) is presented by
considering this algebra as the conformal algebra of the 2+1 dimensional
Minkowskian spacetime. Non-relativistic contractions are analysed and used to
obtain quantum Hopf structures for the conformal algebras of the 2+1 Galilean
and Carroll spacetimes. Relations between the latter and the null-plane quantum

Breakdown and recovery in traffic flow models
Most car-following models show a transition from laminar to ``congested''
flow and vice versa. Deterministic models often have a density range where a
disturbance needs a sufficiently large critical amplitude to move the flow from
the laminar into the congested phase. In stochastic models, it may be assumed
that the size of this amplitude gets translated into a waiting time, i.e.\
until fluctuations sufficiently add up to trigger the transition. A recently
introduced model of traffic flow however does not show this behavior: in the
density regime where the jam solution co-exists with the high-flow state, the
intrinsic stochasticity of the model is not sufficient to cause a transition
into the jammed regime, at least not within relevant time scales. In addition,
models can be differentiated by the stability of the outflow interface. We
demonstrate that this additional criterion is not related to the stability of
the flow. The combination of these criteria makes it possible to characterize
commonalities and differences between many existing models for traffic in a new
way
Heat Capacity and Magnetic Phase Diagram of the Low-Dimensional Antiferromagnet YBaCuO
A study by specific heat of a polycrystalline sample of the low-dimensional
magnetic system YBaCuO is presented. Magnetic fields up to 14 T are
applied and permit to extract the (,) phase diagram. Below
T, the N\'eel temperature, associated with a
three-dimensional antiferromagnetic long-range ordering, is constant and equals
K. Above , increases linearly with and a
field-induced increase of the entropy at is related to the presence of an
isosbestic point at K, where all the specific heat curves cross.
A comparison is made between YBaCuO and the quasi-two-dimensional
magnetic systems BaNiVO, SrCuOCl, and
PrCuO, for which very similar phase diagrams have been reported. An
effective field-induced magnetic anisotropy is proposed to explain these phase

Loss of genetic variation in a strongly isolated Azorean population of the edible calm, <i>Tapes decussatus</i>
We used allozyme electrophoresis to compare the genetic variation of an introduced and strongly isolated population of the edible clam Tapes decussatus in the Azores (Lagoa de Santo Cristo, Sao Jorge) with populations from the main range of the species (Ria and Thau). Observed and expected heterozygosity values, number of polymorphic loci, and mean number of alleles per locus in the main-range populations fall within the limits reported for T. decussatus and other Venerid clams. In contrast to previous studies on Venerid clams, we observed no heterozygote deficiencies. In the introduced Lagoa population, we observed a strong reduction of allelic diversity and expected heterozygosities and an effective population size of only 5.30. The Lagoa population is only slightly differentiated from populations from the species' main range and may thus be of low "biological value." Exploitation of T. decussatus could therefore be allowed to continue but must follow strict collection guidelines, especially given that only 15% of the area is suitable for exploitation. Otherwise, a unique component of the Azorean fauna that also serves as a fishery resource may be lost
Two-Component Dust in Spherically Symmetric Motion
Two components of spherically symmetric, inhomogeneous dust penetrating each
other are introduced as a generalization of the well-known Tolman-Bondi dust
solution. The field equations of this model are formulated and general
properties are discussed. inhomogeneous Special solutions with additional
symmetries - an extra Killing- or homothetic vector - and their matching to the

Surface Half-Metallicity of CrAs in the Zinc-Blende Structure
The development of new techniques such as the molecular beam epitaxy have
enabled the growth of thin films of materials presenting novel properties.
Recently it was made possible to grow a CrAs thin-film in the zinc-blende
structure. In this contribution, the full-potential screened KKR method is used
to study the electronic and magnetic properties of bulk CrAs in this novel
phase as well as the Cr and As terminated (001) surfaces. Bulk CrAs is found to
be half-ferromagnetic for all three GaAs, AlAs and InAs experimental lattice
constants with a total spin magnetic moment of 3 . The Cr-terminated
surface retains the half-ferromagnetic character of the bulk, while in the case
of the As-termination the surface states destroy the gap in the minority-spin

Failure of hydrogenation in protecting polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from fragmentation
A recent study of soft X-ray absorption in native and hydrogenated coronene
cations, CH , led to the conclusion that additional
hydrogen atoms protect (interstellar) Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH)
molecules from fragmentation [Reitsma et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 113, 053002
(2014)]. The present experiment with collisions between fast (30-200 eV) He
atoms and pyrene (CH, , 6, and 16) and simulations
without reference to the excitation method suggests the opposite. We find that
the absolute carbon-backbone fragmentation cross section does not decrease but
increases with the degree of hydrogenation for pyrene molecules.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure
Biodegradable Poly(2-Dimethylamino Ethylamino)Phosphazene for In Vivo Gene Delivery to Tumor Cells. Effect of Polymer Molecular Weight
Purpose. Previously, we have shown that complexes of plasmid DNA with the biodegradable polymer poly(2-dimethylamino ethylamino)phosphazene (p(DMAEA)-ppz) mediated tumor selective gene expression after intravenous administration in mice. In this study, we investigated the effect of p(DMAEA)-ppz molecular weight on both in vitro and in vivo tumor transfection, as well as on complex induced toxicity. Materials and Methods. p(DMAEA)-ppz with a broad molar mass distribution was fractionated by preparative size exclusion chromatography. Polyplexes consisting of plasmid DNA and the collected polymer fractions were tested for biophysical properties, (cyto)toxicity and transfection activity. Results. Four p(DMAEA)-ppz fractions were collected with weight average molecular weights ranging from 130 to 950 kDa, and with narrow molecular mass distributions (Mw/Mn from 1.1 to 1.3). At polymer-to-DNA (N/P) ratios above 6, polyplexes based on these polymers were all positively charged (zeta potential 25–29 mV), and had a size of 80–90 nm. The in vitro cytotoxicity of the polyplexes positively correlated with polymer molecular weight. The in vitro transfection activity of the different polyplexes depended on their N/P ratio, and was affected by the degree of cytotoxicity, as well as the colloidal stability of the different polyplexes. Intravenous administration of polyplexes based on the high molecular weight polymers led to apparent toxicity, as a result of polyplex-induced erythrocyte aggregation. On the other hand, administration of polyplexes based on low molecular weight p(DMAEA)-ppz_s (Mw130 kDa) did not show signs of toxicity and resulted in tumor selective gene expression. Conclusion. Polymer molecular weight fractionation enabled us to optimize the transfection efficiency/ toxicity ratio of p(DMAEA)-ppz polyplexes for in vitro and in vivo tumor transfection. KiDS-i-800: Comparing weak gravitational lensing measurements in same-sky surveys
We present a weak gravitational lensing analysis of 815 square degree of
-band imaging from the Kilo-Degree Survey (KiDS--800). In contrast to the
deep -band observations, which take priority during excellent seeing
conditions and form the primary KiDS dataset (KiDS--450), the complementary
yet shallower KiDS--800 spans a wide range of observing conditions. The
overlapping KiDS--800 and KiDS--450 imaging therefore provides a unique
opportunity to assess the robustness of weak lensing measurements. In our
analysis, we introduce two new `null' tests. The `nulled' two-point shear
correlation function uses a matched catalogue to show that the calibrated
KiDS--800 and KiDS--450 shear measurements agree at the level of \%. We use five galaxy lens samples to determine a `nulled' galaxy-galaxy
lensing signal from the full KiDS--800 and KiDS--450 surveys and find
that the measurements agree to \% when the KiDS--800 source
redshift distribution is calibrated using either spectroscopic redshifts, or
