This paper addresses a new approach to find a spectrum of information measures for the process of digital circuit synthesis. We consider the problem from the information engine point of view. The circuit synthesis as a whole and different steps of the design process (an example of decision diagram is given) are presented via such measurements as entropy, logical work and information vitality. We also introduce new information measures to provide better estimates of synthesis criteria. We show that the basic properties of information engine, such as the conservation law of information flow and the equilibrium law of information can be formulated.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, 2 tables, MWSCAS'0

The random coefficient autoregressive model with seasonal volatility innovations (RCA-SGARCH)

    Get PDF
This paper dealt with the autoregressive model when the coefficient is random. The residuals series of the model exhibit two behaviors, kurtosis and volatility. These volatilities are usually seasonal in the real financial data, which always uses GARCH models. So the use of RCA and GARCH models together will provide an appropriate framework to study and analysis of time-varying volatility as well as the presence of seasonal effects in financial series. Applying copper's daily economic close prices when the errors series are distributed, as usual, t_((3)) and t_((7)) distributions are achieved. Therefore, the RCA(1) model, when residuals follow the GARCH(1, 0)x(0, 1)_5 model together, is the appropriate model

Background: Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) of lower limbs is one of the most causes for the majority of death caused by pulmonary embolism. Many medical and surgical disorders are complicated by DVT. Most venous thrombi are clinically silent. B-mode and color Doppler imaging is needed for early diagnosis of DVT to prevent complications and squeal of DVT.Aim and objectives: the objectives of our study were to evaluate the role of color flow Doppler in the diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and subsequently to investigate its diagnostic value in patients who have normal deep veins despite symptoms.Patients and methods: prospective cross sectional study of 50 patients, 32 patients male, 18female, diagnosed on Doppler with DVTResults: Color Doppler flow imaging in 50 cases had sensitivity of 90%, specificity of 96.7%, positive predictive value of 94.7%, negative predictive value of 93.5%, and accuracy rate of 94%, with majority belonging to fifth decade (26%). In our study, predominantly distribution of thrombus was found to be in above knee region with (65.63%), while only 34.38% of them had DVT below knee. Conclusion: Color Doppler is useful in diagnosing DVT in symptomatic and at risk patients and provides non- invasive method of investigation. It is also helpful in evaluating the site, extent and stage of thrombus. Move&Connect Caregivers: The feasibility of a virtual group-based intervention for caregivers of youth with persistent post-concussion symptoms

    Get PDF
Youth with persistent post-concussion symptoms (PPCS) experience challenges in physical, social, and emotional domains. Around 30% of youth experience PPCS that continue beyond four weeks post injury, making it difficult for them to return to meaningful activities. Prolonged concussion recovery has also been found to affect caregivers’ mental health and family functioning. Further, parental stress adversely affects the well-being of youth with PPCS. Despite the critical role that caregivers play in youth recovery post-injury, there is no empirically-validated intervention tailored to the specific needs of caregivers of youth with PPCS. The overall thesis objective is to explore the feasibility of a novel, virtual group-based intervention, Move&Connect-Caregivers (M&C-C). The intervention was delivered twice, where the first group included four caregivers, and the second group included five caregivers (total n=9). Feasibility metrics and semi-structured interviews were collected. Interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Findings demonstrated that M&C-C is a feasible intervention for caregivers of youth with PPCS. A visual model was developed to capture the salient features of caregivers’ experience with M&C-C, and included four categories: (1) Caregiver Background, (2) M&C-C Intervention: Structure, (3) M&C-C Intervention: Engagement, and (4) Key Takeaways. Results suggest that M&C-C is a meaningful virtual intervention that merges the benefits of social support, concussion education, and advocacy tools to support caregivers of youth with PPCS

This study compared Cynthiana grape pomace extract (GPE) and commercial grape seed extract (GSE) to common antioxidants used to prevent lipid oxidation in fresh goat meat sausage. Sausages were manufactured from lean goat meat (70 %), goat fat (30 %) and 2.7 % smoked polish kielbasa seasoning spices. Antioxidants GPE, GSE, and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) were added to the sausage at levels of 1.135, 5.625, and 3.405 g/5.0 kg sausage (respectively) to test their effectiveness. Fresh sausage was fabricated, placed on foam trays, overwrapped with PVC, then refrigerated at 4 C for 28 days. The total antioxidant activity of (GSE) and (GPE) was measured in this study using the oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) method. The results showed that the (GSE) had a higher ORAC activity than the (GPE). Also, the effect of these natural antioxidants on the quality of goat sausages microbial content, lipid oxidation, color, sensory attributes, and proximate analysis was determined. The L* value of all the samples increased. However, the* redness and b* yellowness decreased (p<0.05) during storage. The GSE-containing samples showed slightly lower thiobarbituric acid formation of TBARS, followed by GPE, after 28 days. GSE and GPE did not significantly decrease (p<0.05) microbial growth compared to the controls. The antimicrobial effect of GSE and GPE did not help to prevent microbial spoilage in goat meat sausages.Department of Animal Scienc

Cheese is considered a perishable food that is affected by microorganisms, and due to the properties of nanomaterials that have antimicrobial activity, they have been used synergistically with plant extracts in inhibiting the action of microorganisms that cause cheese spoilage. In this study, TiO2 (Titanium dioxide) nanoparticles were synthesized using Thymus vulgaris leaves extract (TVLE) . Atomic Force Microscopywas used to investigate Titanium dioxide/ TVLE nanoparticles characterize, which improved the regular spherical shape and granular distribution of nanoparticles with a particle size of 13 nm . The results showed that the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of Titanium dioxide was at a concentration of 4 mg/ml and 80 mg/ml for TVLE, while it was 2 + 20 mg /ml for Titanium dioxide and TVLE .The inhibitory effect increased against Brucella melitensis recorded 12 mm when mixing Titanium dioxide and TVLE, compared with the inhibitory effect of Titanium dioxide, which recorded 10.5 mm and TVLE, with an inhibition diameter 8.1 mm. The effect of using titanium particles and thyme leaves’ extract was studied alone at a concentration of 4 mg/ml and  80 mg/ml and also when mixed in the microbial properties and pH of white soft cheese samples, which were prepared in the laboratory and contaminated with Brucella melitensis at refrigerated storage conditions (5Cº) for 21days. The effect of the synergism relationship between TiO2 / TVLE significantly reduced the total number of microorganisms in samples contaminated and uncontaminated with B. melitensis. Adding titanium dioxide and TVLE at concentrations of 4 and 80 mg/ml contributed significantly to maintaining the pH level during the storage period compared with the control group

Aim of the present study is Identification of specific gene for GPCR using specific primers .and identification of difference in PCR analysis in patients with heart thrombosis  and compared with healthy, Sequencing of PCR product regarding GPCR compared for all three subject, Identification  the similarity of human GPCR with local strain of yeast fifty healthy control and fifty patients with thrombosis which diagnosed medically with cardiac specific troponin t, troponin 1 levels and electro myocardiogram ECG. The aged for all subjects ranged (39-75) years   patients were lying in cardiac care unit at Ibn- al- Nafees teaching hospital and  Sheikh  Zayed  teaching  hospital. Genomic DNA of whole blood was extracted from buffy coat and cell cultured handbook protocol using Bioneer- kit and  Genomic DNA fungus/yeast  kit was used in isolation  and purification of DNA. patients divided  into three  groups according  to their age: group A (60-75) years , group B (50-59) years ,  group C (39-49) years the  results of genomic  DNA  isolation  from blood cells extracted in pure  form which ensured by the absorbance ratio (260/280 ) was (1.6 – 1.9 ) with a concentration of 50µg/ml and one DNA band with high resolution in gel electrophoresis. The result of  genomic DNA extracted from  the local strain of  S. cerevisiae showed that DNA   extracted with  high   purity   because   the  absorbance  ratio  (260 /280 )was (1.7 to 2.0) with a concentration of 60 µg/ml  and presence one DNA band with high resolution  in gel electrophoresis. primers were designed  depending on the sequence of the gene responsible for the production of GPCR on the chromosome 11 , GPCR  contain  three exons which covered  with six primers to detect a defect in gene sequence among. Results of gel electrophoresis are showed that primer  GPRX1 gave one band for (Control , A,B ) groups but absent amplified band in the patient eight and nine from group C. with molecular weight of this band is 1000 bp. The  GPRX2  primer  used to amplify second exon in the GPCR gene ,the molecular weight of amplified bands are  400 bp were present in all control samples and three groups of thrombosis patientsand yeast. GPRX2A primer that designed to amplify  part two from second exon of GPCR gene by PCR gave one band for all samples which include control and patient, the molecular weight of this band is 500 bp. PCR analysis  showed one amplify band for all control and patients group with molecular weight 500 bp  for GPRX3 primer and 400 bp for GPRX3A ,300 bp for GPRX3B. The specific primers which  designed to covering  GPCR gene used to amplification  genomic DNA  of the local strain  S.cerevisiae by PCR technique. Results showed all six primers which gave  one band with difference molecular weight  for each primer. All samples demonstrate identity planned sizes to control and local strain of S. cerevisiae samples except patient number 8 and 9 in the group(C) that  showed non specialist bands in specific primer  with  first  exon (GPRX1) .So the genetic sequence analysis of these two case based on the sequence  of the  remainder exons to detect the genetic defect in these case. The sequence of the first part for the second exon (X2) was identity standard sequence found on the NCBI web site for case( 8). The  case (9) showed  identity with  the sequence present in the human gene bank but some difference in the first of sequence which neglected because it is in the place link of primer. The  results for  case  8  showed some mutation for Exon X2(part2). but case (9) demonstrate one  deletion and one substitution. The results, also, illustrated that the ether48 thrombosis patients didn't appeared any mutation despite the positive results for ( Troponin) that gives strong indication of thrombosis. The conclusion Primer  GPRX1 gave one band for (Control , A,B ) groups but absent amplified band in the patient eight and nine from group C. The molecular weight of this band is 1000 bp. The amplified band with molecular weight 400 bp were present in all control samples and three groups of thrombosis patients with primer GPRX2  and 500 bp with primer GPRX2A.PCR analysis  showed one amplify band for all control and patients group with molecular weight 500 bp for GPRX3 primer.,400 bp with GPRX3A and 300 bp for primer GPRX3B.Similarity between results given by healthy group and local strain of yeast. Genetic study  showed that there are  only two case of  patients  eight and nine demonstrated mutation in nucleic location on exon two and three from GPCR gene Keyword: GPCR, Genetic Study, Saccharomysis  cerevisiae, Patient with Thrombosis
