Abstract This article describes a proposal to improve the educational process for the students of the Military Academy to support the maintenance of the Serbian Army aircraft based on the introduction of the subject called Aircraft Flight Tests. The article particularly emphasizes the importance of establishing aircraft laboratories with the basic characteristics of the test-measuring equipment necessary to be integrated into the aircraft in order to realise practical tests of an aircraft in flight. The formation of aircraft laboratories would form a very strong didactic tool which would provide an optimal synthesis of theory and practice. This concept of improving the educational process would substantially raise the awareness of the necessity of cooperation and involvement of all research capacities of the scientific institutions in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia

Modeling and design of surface acoustic wave filters and their military applications

The operation principles of surface acoustic wave filters (SAW) and materials and technology of their fabrication are presented. A special attention is paid to wide and diverse applications of SAW filters in signal processing, communications and chemical sensors, stressing their military applications. An original method, developed by the authors, for the modeling and prediction of SAW filter characteristics is presented. The abilities of the method are illustrated by the examples of chemical SAW sensors for the detection of warfare chemical agents. The designed and fabricated SAW filter PAT-FPO is the base for the special purpose chemical sensors

Apoptosis time window induced by cold atmospheric plasma: Comparison with ionizing radiation

In this study we evaluate apoptosis time window of primary fibroblasts treated with cold atmospheric plasma (CAP), power range 0.4-1.4 W, for 30 sec, using Ī³-H2AX phosphorylation assay and flow cytometry. In contrast to irradiation where maximum of Ī³-H2AX foci appeared 30 min after irradiation and apoptosis 24 h later irrespective of radiation dose, treatment with CAP (power of 0.4 and 0.6) induces maximum of Ī³-H2AX foci 2 h after treatment. Apoptosis occurred in a power-dependent manner, with time shift of 2-3 h. Besides power-dependent time shift in apoptosis induction, apoptosis time window is the same and lasts for 2 h.
