General features of high-energy projects are outlined. It is indicated that although these projects are normally large, complicated, and technologically advanced, in general they meet the cost and time estimates rather well. The aspects discussed include: project set-up and control at CERN; the kind of staff, their work and motivation; collaboration with industry and the possibility of 'fall-out' products. (0 refs)
