Constraints on large-extra-dimensions model through 125 GeV Higgs pair production at the LHC

Based on the analysis of 5 fb^-1 of data at the LHC, the ATLAS and CMS collaborations have presented evidence for a Higgs boson with a mass in the 125 GeV range. We consider the 125 GeV neutral Higgs pair production process in the context of large-extra-dimensions (LED) model including the Kaluza-Klein (KK)excited gravitons at the LHC. We consider the standard model(SM) Higgs pair production in gluon-gluon fusion channel and pure LED effects through graviton exchange as well as their interferences. It is shown that such interferences should be included; the LED model raises the transverse momentum (Pt)and invariant mass (M_HH) distributions at high scales of Pt and M_HH of the Higgs pair production. By using the Higgs pair production we could set the discovery limit on the cutoff scale M_S up to 6 TeV for delta = 2 and 4.5 TeV for delta = 6.Comment: 6 figure

Suppression of maximal linear gluon polarization in angular asymmetries

We perform a phenomenological analysis of the cos2ϕ\cos 2 \phi azimuthal asymmetry in virtual photon plus jet production induced by the linear polarization of gluons in unpolarized pApA collisions. Although the linearly polarized gluon distribution becomes maximal at small xx, TMD evolutionleads to a Sudakov suppression of the asymmetry with increasing invariant mass of the γ\gamma^*-jet pair. Employing a small-xx model input distribution, the asymmetry is found to be strongly suppressed under TMD evolution, but still remains sufficiently large to be measurable in the typical kinematical region accessible at RHIC or LHC at moderate photon virtuality, whereas it is expected to be negligible in Z/WZ/W-jet pair production at LHC. We point out the optimal kinematics for RHIC and LHC studies, in order to expedite the first experimental studies of the linearly polarized gluon distribution through this process. We further argue that this is a particularly clean process to test the ktk_t-resummation formalism in the small-xx regime.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure

Scale evolution of T-odd gluon TMDs at small x

We study the energy or TMD evolution of the three leading twist dipole type T-odd gluon TMDs inside a transversely polarized nucleon, all of which at small xx dynamically originate from the spin dependent odderon. Their energy dependence presents a unique opportunity to study the polarization dependent TMD evolution in the small-xx region, where the distributions are identical up to a normalization constant at tree level. We further propose to study their evolution via azimuthal asymmetries in virtual photon-jet production in polarized proton-proton collisions at RHIC. We present model predictions for the asymmetries as functions of the large jet or photon transverse momentum and Q2Q^2 which set the hard scales in this process.Comment: 9 pages,4 figure
