    Visualization of ECG Data on Variant Maps

    This chapter presents variant maps for showing potential features in ECG data sets. The variant map is a visualization method different from a traditional ECG. In this chapter, the ECG data sets obtained by clinical ECG monitoring are used as the data source, and the corresponding variant maps are obtained by the variant statistics method. This chapter mainly introduces the variant statistics method about converting ECG data into variant maps. From sample results, various visual properties can be observed, and further explorations are required

    Primary clear cell adenocarcinoma of the bladder with recurrence: a case report and literature review

    Clear cell carcinoma of the bladder is a rare tumor of the bladder. There are few reports available on this rare disease, and no cases with recurrence were reported. Here we present a case of 68-year-old woman with primary clear cell carcinoma of the bladder, who underwent repeat TUR-BT and tumor recurrence. We also reviewed the previous treatments and prognoses in previous case reports and evaluate the proper treatment for this disease. Once the diagnosis is determined, the radical surgery should be recommended. The recurrence is not prevented based on post-TUR intravesical therapy

    Uplift of the Longmen Shan range and the Wenchuan earthquake

    ABSTRACT: The 12 May 2008 Wenchuan earthquake (M-s,=8.0) struck on the Longmen Shan foreland thrust zone. The event took place within the context of long-term uplift of the Longmen Shan range is a result of the extensive eastward-extrusion of crustal materials from the Tibetan plateau against the rheologically strong crust of the Sichuan Basin. The Longmen Shan range is characterized by a Pre-Sinian crystalline complex constrained by the Maoxian-Wenchuan-Kangding ductile detachment at the western margin and the Yingxiu-Beichuan-Luding ductile thrust at the eastern margin. The Longmen Shan uplift was initiated by intracontinental subduction between the Songpan-Ganzi terrane and the Yangtze block during the Pre-Cenozoic. The uplift rate was increased considerably by the collision between the Indian and Eurasian plates since similar to 50 Ma. The Wenchuan earthquake resulted in two major NE-striking coseismic ruptures (i.e., the similar to 275 km long Yingxiu-Beichuan-Qingchuan fault and the similar to 100 km long Anxian-Guanxian fault). Field investigations combined with focal solutions and seismic reflection profiles suggest that the coseismic ruptures are steeply dipping close-to-pure reverse or right reverse oblique slip faults in the similar to 15 km thick tipper crust. These faults are unfavorably oriented for frictional slip in the horizontally compressional regime, so that they need a long recurrence interval to accumulate the tectonic stress and fluid pressure to critically high levels for the formation of strong earthquakes at a given locality. It is also found that all the large earthquakes (M-s>7.0) occurred in the fault zones across which the horizontal movement velocities measured by the GPS are markedly low (<3 mm/yr). The faults, which constitute the northeastern fronts of the enlarging Tibetan plateau against the strong Sichuan Basin, Ala Shan and Ordos blocks, are very destructive, although their average recurrence intervals are generally long

    Cervical HPV infection in Yueyang, China: a cross-sectional study of 125,604 women from 2019 to 2022

    ObjectiveHuman papillomavirus (HPV) infection is currently the main cause of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions in women. The aim of this study was to investigate the epidemiological characteristics of HPV genotypes among women in Yueyang city and to provide a basis for the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer in this city.MethodsA cross-sectional study was conducted on 125,604 women who had received treatment from eight hospitals in Yueyang city from September 2019 to September 2022. Analysis of the prevalence of HPV in patients.ResultsThe prevalence of HPV was 20.5% (95%CI: 20.2–20.7%), of which the high-risk type (HR-HPV) accounted for 17.5% (95%CI: 17.3–17.7%) and the low-risk type (LR-HPV) accounted for 5.0% (95%CI: 4.9–5.1%). Among the HR-HPV subtypes, the top five in prevalence, from the highest to the lowest, were HPV52 (5.1%), HPV16(2.7%), HPV58 (2.6%), HPV53 (2.4%), and HPV51 (1.7%). The main LR-HPV infection types were HPV81 (2,676 cases, OR = 2.1%; 95%CI, 2.0–2.1%). Among the infected patients, 19,203 cases (OR = 74.3%; 95%CI, 73.8–74.9%) had a single subtype, 4,673 cases (OR = 18.1%; 95%CI, 17.6–18.6%) had two subtypes, and 1957 cases (OR = 7.6%; 95%CI, 7.3–7.9%) had three or more subtypes. HPV prevalence is highest among women &lt;25 years, 55–64 years and ≥ 65 years of age.ConclusionThe prevalence of HPV in women in Yueyang city was 20.5%, with HR-HPV being dominant. As women aged &lt;25 years, 55–64 years, and ≥ 65 years are at a relatively higher risk, more attention should be paid to them for prevention and control of HPV infections

    Pre-Operative Prediction of Mediastinal Node Metastasis Using Radiomics Model Based on 18F-FDG PET/CT of the Primary Tumor in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients

    Purpose: We investigated whether a fluorine-18-fluorodeoxy glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT)-based radiomics model (RM) could predict the pathological mediastinal lymph node staging (pN staging) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) undergoing surgery.Methods: A total of 716 patients with a clinicopathological diagnosis of NSCLC were included in this retrospective study. The prediction model was developed in a training cohort that consisted of 501 patients. Radiomics features were extracted from the 18F-FDG PET/CT of the primary tumor. Support vector machine and extremely randomized trees were used to build the RM. Internal validation was assessed. An independent testing cohort contained the remaining 215 patients. The performances of the RM and clinical node staging (cN staging) in predicting pN staging (pN0 vs. pN1 and N2) were compared for each cohort. The area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver operating characteristic curve was applied to assess the model's performance.Results: The AUC of the RM [0.81 (95% CI, 0.771–0.848); sensitivity: 0.794; specificity: 0.704] for the predictive performance of pN1 and N2 was significantly better than that of cN in the training cohort [0.685 (95% CI, 0.644–0.728); sensitivity: 0.804; specificity: 0.568], (P-value = 8.29e-07, as assessed by the Delong test). In the testing cohort, the AUC of the RM [0.766 (95% CI, 0.702–0.830); sensitivity: 0.688; specificity: 0.704] was also significantly higher than that of cN [0.685 (95% CI, 0.619–0.747); sensitivity: 0.799; specificity: 0.568], (P = 0.0371, Delong test).Conclusions: The RM based on 18F-FDG PET/CT has a potential for the pN staging in patients with NSCLC, suggesting that therapeutic planning could be tailored according to the predictions
