    Keep mum

“Keep Mum” is a short film about a husband, Shen, who is verbally and physically abused by his wife. Their two young daughters also suffer indirectly from the abuse. Shen does not speak up nor defend himself because of his love for his family, and silently takes in the insults from his wife as well as striving to provide for his family a more comfortable life. This film deals with the marginalised group of men who suffers from such abuse. It is an issue that many choose not to believe exists, primarily because it is controversial, and even somewhat embarrassing. Society is far more accepting when the husband is the abuser and the wife is the abused. However, Annette Lee, the director, daringly explored such a topic and reveals the stress and trauma a husband goes through in a realistic manner. Through this film, we aim to show that such is a reality and spousal abuse occurs to both genders. As the director of photography for “Keep Mum”, my aim is to follow the style of the director as closely as possible in keeping the film real and honest. As this is a drama portraying real life issues, my job is to create visuals that are believable and true. In the report, I will talk about the pre-production, production, and post-production of the film in detail.Bachelor of Fine Art

Signal extraction, ambiguity and asset pricing : an experimental study

Across the past two decades, the world’s stock trading volume has increased nearly five-fold. In Singapore, stock trading volume has increased from US74.137billiontoUS74.137 billion to US219.612 billion, amounting to an increment of 196% (World Bank, 2018). Given the increasing scale and pervasiveness of financial trading, it is important to understand market participants’ investment decisions. In the world of financial trading, participants are required to make investment decisions, often while facing ambiguous information regarding fundamental asset values. This paper seeks to investigate the relationship between signal extraction and ambiguity attitudes on financial asset pricing decisions. The analysis concluded that individuals are able to do signal extraction, but fail to do so under ambiguity. Using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method, we also showed that Ambiguity-Averse subjects perceive significantly higher variances compared to Ambiguity-Seeking subjects when faced with identical ambiguous information. The results obtained highlight that ambiguity may be a source of market instability or cause deviation of market prices from rational expectations.Bachelor of Arts in Economic
