    Automatic Measurement and Control Method for the Code Edge of Stripe Rod

    It is a tough question to measure the code edges of the stripe rod with high precision and high efficiency. An automatic measurement and control method for the code edges of the stripe rod is put forward in the paper. A laser interferometer is used not only as a means in distance measurement but also as a positioning sensor in closed-loop control. The acceleration-deceleration control of S curve is designed to ensure the system performance. An alignment area is set up to provide control redundancy and the alignment offset of measured edge can be obtained by image measurement. The measured code edge position is obtained by combining interferometer data with image data. The S curve control proves high efficiency and positioning precision of 0.03 mm. The repetition criterion deviation of edge measurement is less than 0.5 mm, which proves the data combination method is high precision. This is the first time that closed-loop control and control redundancy method is used to calibrate the stripe rod

    A novel PCFT gene mutation (p.Cys66LeufsX99) causing hereditary folate malabsorption

    Hereditary folate malabsorption (HFM) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder which is characterized by impaired intestinal folate malabsorption and impaired folate transport into the central nervous system. Mutations in the intestinal folate transporter PCFT have been reported previously in only 10 individuals with this disorder. The purpose of the current study was to describe the clinical phenotype and determine the molecular basis for this disorder in a family with four affected individuals. A consanguineous family of Pakistani origin with autosomal recessive HFM was ascertained and clinically phenotyped. After genetic linkage studies all coding exons of the PCFT gene were screened for mutations by direct sequencing. The clinical phenotype of four affected patients is described. Direct sequencing of PCFT revealed a novel homozygous frameshift mutation (c.194dupG) at a mononucleotide repeat in exon 1 predicted to result in a truncated protein (p.Cys66LeufsX99). This report extends current knowledge on the phenotypic manifestations of HFM and the PCFT mutation spectrum

    Clinical observation on the treatment of glaucoma with cataract through triple surgery

    AIM: To observe the therapeutic effect of triple surgery in the treatment of glaucoma with cataract at different stages.<p>METHODS: Totally 31 patients(55 eyes)with glaucoma and cataract were treated with phacoemulsification, lens implantation and trabeculectomy. Preoperation and postoperation of visual acuity, intraocular pressure, filtering bleb and postoperation complications were observed.<p>RESULTS: After 6mo postoperation, the vision was significantly improved. The intraocular pressure was controlled in normal range and filtering bleb was good. There was a little complications after operation.<p>CONCLUSION: Phacoemulsification intraocular lens implantation with anti-glaucoma establishes new aqueous humor outflow. It can effectively decrease intraocular pressure, deepen anterior chamber and improve vision, reduce all kinds of complications after simple glaucoma surgery
