A new asymptotical flat and spherically symmetric solution in the generalized Einstein-Cartan-Kibble-Sciama gravity and gravitational lensing

We firstly present a new asymptotical flat and spherically symmetric solution in the generalized Einstein-Cartan-Kibble-Sciama (ECKS) theory of gravity and then investigate the propagation of photon in this background. This solution possesses three independent parameters which affect sharply photon sphere, deflection angle of light ray and gravitational lensing. Since the condition of existence of horizons is not inconsistent with that of photon sphere, there exists a special case where there is horizon but no photon sphere in this spacetime. Especially, we find that in this special case, the deflection angle of a light ray near the event horizon tends to a finite value rather than diverges, which is not explored in other spacetimes. We also study the strong gravitational lensing in this spacetime with the photon sphere and then probe how the spacetime parameters affect the coefficients in the strong field limit.Comment: 22 pages, 7 figures. Structure of Heterogeneous Two-Phase Rotating Detonation Wave with Ethanol-Hydrogen-Air Mixture

In this study, the structure of a hydrogen-assisted rotating detonation wave (RDW) fueled by liquid ethanol is revealed and expounded. The simulation is carried out under an Eulerian-Lagrangian framework in which the main characteristics of the two-phase RDW are analyzed in detail. Results suggest a self-sustained rotating detonation fueled by liquid ethanol can be achieved where the majority of droplets are heated and consumed by the detonation wave. A laminated structure of the RDW due to the effect of droplet evaporation is captured and clarified, which is found to play a major role in the stable propagation of the two-phase RDW

Chaotic motion of scalar particle coupling to Chern-Simons invariant in the stationary axisymmetric Einstein-Maxwell dilaton black hole spacetime

We investigate the motion of a test scalar particle coupling to the Chern-Simons (CS) invariant in the background of a stationary axisymmetric black hole in the Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton-Axion (EMDA) gravity. Comparing with the case of a Kerr black hole, we observe that the presence of the dilation parameter makes the CS invariant more complex, and changes the range of the coupling parameter and the spin parameter where the chaotic motion appears for the scalar particle. Moreover, we find that the coupling parameter together with the spin parameter also affects the range of the dilation parameter where the chaos occurs. We also probe the effects of the dilation parameter on the chaotic strength of the chaotic orbits for the coupled particle. Our results indicate that the coupling between the CS invariant and the scalar particle yields the richer dynamical behavior of the particle in the rotating EMDA black hole spacetime.Comment: 17 pages, 10 figure

Cloning and Characterization of a Pyrethroid Pesticide Decomposing Esterase Gene, \u3cem\u3eEst3385\u3c/em\u3e, from \u3cem\u3eRhodopseudomonas palustris\u3c/em\u3e PSB-S

Full length open reading frame of pyrethroid detoxification gene, Est3385, contains 963 nucleotides. This gene was identified and cloned based on the genome sequence of Rhodopseudomonas palustris PSB-S available at the GneBank. The predicted amino acid sequence of Est3385 shared moderate identities (30–46%) with the known homologous esterases. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that Est3385 was a member in the esterase family I. Recombinant Est3385 was heterologous expressed in E. coli, purified and characterized for its substrate specificity, kinetics and stability under various conditions. The optimal temperature and pH for Est3385 were 35 °C and 6.0, respectively. This enzyme could detoxify various pyrethroid pesticides and degrade the optimal substrate fenpropathrin with a Km and Vmax value of 0.734 ± 0.013 mmol·l−1 and 0.918 ± 0.025 U·µg−1, respectively. No cofactor was found to affect Est3385 activity but substantial reduction of enzymatic activity was observed when metal ions were applied. Taken together, a new pyrethroid degradation esterase was identified and characterized. Modification of Est3385 with protein engineering toolsets should enhance its potential for field application to reduce the pesticide residue from agroecosystems
