Study of Diluted Meldonium Solutions by Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering Spectroscopy

Silvered porous silicon was utilized as an active substrate for a detection of small amounts of meldonium by surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy. We were able to detect the meldonium in its water solutions at the concentrations of 102–106 M. Immersion of the silvered porous silicon in the meldonium solutions at the 104M concentration and lower led to the dimers' formation. At the concentrations larger than 103 M, a greater contribution to the enhancement of the Raman intensity was caused by a chemical mechanism while the smaller amounts were detected mostly due to an electromagnetic mechanism

High rate dose brachytherapy - HDR experience for localized and locally advanced prostate cancer in Sverdlovsk Regional Oncology Dispensary

Currently, the rate of morbidity and mortality from prostate cancer has been increasing. HDR brachytherapy (HDR-ВТ) is considered to be one of the modern methods in the treatment of prostate cancer. In Sverdlovsk Regional Oncology Centre (SROC) this method has been being applied since 2009. In our work we analyzed treatment outcomes in 204 patients with localized and locally advanced prostate cancer after HDR as a single method as well as a part of combined and complex treatment. Our results evidenced of HDR brachytherapy as an effective and safe method of treatment, which improves hospitalization.В настоящее время в России отмечается рост заболеваемости и смертности от рака предстательной железы. Одним из современных методов лечения данной патологии является внутритканевая высокодозная брахитерапия - HDR (High dose rate). В Свердловском областном онкологическом диспансере (СООД) этот метод лечения применяется с 2009 г. В данной работе приводится анализ результатов лечения 204 больных локальным и местно-распространенным раком простаты с применением HDR как в самостоятельном плане, так и в составе комбинированного и/или комплексного лечения. Полученные нами результаты свидетельствуют о том, что высокодозная брахитерапия - HDR является эффективным и безопасным методом лечения, не требующим длительных сроков госпитализации больных

Postoperative early complications and mortality in patients with bladder cancer undergoing radical cystectomy

Radical cystectomy is the standard of care for muscle invasive and re-fractory or recurrent noninvasive bladder cancer. Unfortunately, despite of the recent improvements, radical cystectomy is still associated with high risk of perioper-ative complications and non-negligible risk of mortality. The aim of the present study was evaluation 30-days perioperative complications and mortality rate in our single-center series of radical cystectomy cases based on standardized Clavien-Dindo classification.Радикальная цистэктомия является стандартом лечения больных инвазивными и рефрактерными к органосохраняющему лечению рецидивными не мышечно-инвазивными формами рака мочевого пузыря.
