Resummed event shapes at hadron colliders
We present recently defined jet-observables for hadron-hadron dijet
production, which are designed to reconcile the seemingly conflicting
theoretical requirement of globalness, which makes it possible to resum them
(automatically) at NLL accuracy and the limited experimental reach of
detectors, so that they are measurable at the Tevatron and at the LHC.Comment: 7 pages, Talk given at the XXXIV International Symposium on

Effective theory approach to unstable particles
We present a novel treatment of resonant massive particles appearing as
intermediate states in high energy collisions. The approach uses effective
field theory methods to treat consistently the instability of the intermediate
resonant state. As a result gauge invariance is respected in every step and
calculations can in principle be extended to all orders in perturbation theory,
the only practical limitation in going to higher orders being the standard
difficulties related to multi-loop integrals. We believe that the longstanding
problem related to the treatment of instability of particles is now solved.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, uses moriond.sty (included). Talk presented at

QCD and High Energy Interactions: Moriond 2015 Theory Summary
I will summarise the new theory developments that emerged during the 2015 QCD
Moriond conference. I will give my perspective on some of the topics and
emphasise what I consider most relevant.Comment: 15 pages, 8 figure
W+W-, WZ and ZZ production in the POWHEG BOX V2
We present an implementation of the vector boson pair production processes
ZZ, W+W- and WZ within the POWHEG BOX V2. This implementation, derived from the
POWHEG BOX version, has several improvements over the old one, among which the
inclusion of all decay modes of the vector bosons, the possibility to generate
different decay modes in the same run, speed optimization and phase space
improvements in the handling of interference and singly resonant contributions.Comment: 4 pages, v2 corrects one referenc
W+3 jet production at the LHC as a signal or background
We discuss the production of W bosons in association with three jets at the
LHC. We investigate how next-to-leading order QCD corrections modify basic
kinematic distributions of jets and leptons. We also address the magnitude of
NLO QCD effects in W+3 jet observables, relevant for SUSY searches at the LHC.Comment: 10 pages, 13 figures, OUTP-09-26-
