Interval identification of FMR parameters for spin reorientation transition in (Ga,Mn)As

In this work we report results of ferromagnetic resonance studies of a 6% 15 nm (Ga,Mn)As layer, deposited on (001)-oriented GaAs. The measurements were performed with in-plane oriented magnetic field, in the temperature range between 5K and 120K. We observe a temperature induced reorientation of the effective in-plane easy axis from [-110] to [110] direction close to the Curie temperature. The behavior of magnetization is described by anisotropy fields, H_{eff} (= 4\piM -H_{2\perp}), H_{2\parallel}, and H_{4\parallel}. In order to precisely investigate this reorientation, numerical values of anisotropy fields have been determined using powerful - but still largely unknown - interval calculations. In simulation mode this approach makes possible to find all the resonance fields for arbitrarily oriented sample, which is generally intractable analytically. In 'fitting' mode we effectively utilize full experimental information, not only those measurements performed in special, distinguished directions, to reliably estimate the values of important physical parameters as well as their uncertainties and correlations.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figures. The paper presents the results of modeling and analysis of data performance on systems that support QoS (Quality of Service). In order to evaluate the performance of the modeled systems used were TPN (Timed Petri Nets). Studied were mechanisms of traffic shaping systems based on PQS (Priority Queuing System). Tested was the impact of the mechanism of generating traffic using TPN. Moreover, discussed were the basic mechanisms and queuing systems occurring in QoS structures. It is shown that models can be effectively used in the modeling and analysis of the performance of computer systems

Modelling reconfigurable manufacturing systems with coloured timed Petri nets

International audienceReconfigurable manufacturing systems (RMSs) have been acknowledged as a promising means of providing manufacturing companies with the required production capacities and capabilities. This is accomplished through reconfiguring system elements over time for a diverse set of individualized products often required in small quantities and with short delivery lead times. Recognizing the importance of dynamic modeling and visualization in decision-making support in RMSs and the limitations of current research, we propose in this work to model RMSs with Petri net (PN) techniques focusing on the process of reconfiguring system elements while considering constraints and system performance. In view of the modeling challenges, including variety handling, production variation accommodation, machine selection, and constraint satisfaction, we develop a new formalism of colored timed PNs. In conjunction with colored tokens and timing in colored and timed PNs, we also define a reconfiguration mechanism to meet modeling challenges. An application case from an electronics company producing mobile phone vibration motors is presented. Also reported are system analysis and application results, which show how the proposed formalism can be used in the reconfiguration decision making process

This is the first demonstration that a mammalian homeodomain transcription factor regulates translation, and that this function can be possibly essential for the development of female germ cells and involved in mammalian zygote development

Performance Balancing in Multithreaded Multiprocessor Systems

. Fine--grained multithreading is an architectural approach for tolerating long, unpredictable communication latency and synchronization delays in multiprocessors systems. Instead of waiting for the result of a long--latency operation, the processor performs context switching, i.e., it suspends the current thread and switches to another `ready' thread if such a thread is available. The performance of a multithreaded multiprocessors system depends upon a number of parameters, which, if not selected properly, result in system bottlenecks and limit the performance of the system. This paper derives simple conditions under which a multithreaded multiprocessor system is balanced, so it does not contain bottlenecks. The balancing conditions indicate when multithreading is capable of tolerating long latencies. This, in turn, provides useful guidelines for appropriately choosing the parameters of the multithreaded architecture so as to achieve high performance. Some effects of non-balancing on ..
