    Analysis of the Y(4140) and related molecular states with QCD sum rules

    In this article, we assume that there exist scalar DDˉ{D}^\ast {\bar {D}}^\ast, DsDˉs{D}_s^\ast {\bar {D}}_s^\ast, BBˉ{B}^\ast {\bar {B}}^\ast and BsBˉs{B}_s^\ast {\bar {B}}_s^\ast molecular states, and study their masses using the QCD sum rules. The numerical results indicate that the masses are about (250500)MeV(250-500) \rm{MeV} above the corresponding DDˉ{D}^\ast -{\bar {D}}^\ast, DsDˉs{D}_s^\ast -{\bar {D}}_s^\ast, BBˉ{B}^\ast -{\bar {B}}^\ast and BsBˉs{B}_s^\ast -{\bar {B}}_s^\ast thresholds, the Y(4140) is unlikely a scalar DsDˉs{D}_s^\ast {\bar {D}}_s^\ast molecular state. The scalar DDˉD^\ast {\bar D}^\ast, DsDˉsD_s^\ast {\bar D}_s^\ast, BBˉB^\ast {\bar B}^\ast and BsBˉsB_s^\ast {\bar B}_s^\ast molecular states maybe not exist, while the scalar DDˉ{D'}^\ast {\bar {D'}}^\ast, DsDˉs{D'}_s^\ast {\bar {D'}}_s^\ast, BBˉ{B'}^\ast {\bar {B'}}^\ast and BsBˉs{B'}_s^\ast {\bar {B'}}_s^\ast molecular states maybe exist.Comment: 19 pages, 36 figures, slight revisio

    Flavon exchange effects in models with abelian flavor symmetry

    In models with abelian flavor symmetry the small mixing angles and mass ratios of quarks and leptons are typically given by powers of small parameters characterizing the spontaneous breaking of flavor symmetry by "flavon" fields. If the scale of the breaking of flavor symmetry is near the weak scale, flavon exchange can lead to interesting flavor-violating and CP violating effects. These are studied. It is found that d_e, mu -> e + gamma, and mu-e conversion on nuclei can be near present limits.     Composite quarks and leptons in higher space-time dimensions

    A new approach towards the composite structure of quarks and leptons in the context of the higher dimensional unified theories is proposed. Owing to the certain strong dynamics, much like an ordinary QCD, every possible vectorlike multiplets of composites appear in higher dimensional bulk space-time, however, through a proper Sherk-Schwarz compactification only chiral set of composite quarks and leptons survive as the massless states in four dimensions. In this scenario restrictions related with the 't Hooft's anomaly matching condition are turned out to be avoided and, as a result, the composite models look rather simple and economic. We demonstrate our approach by an explicit construction of model of preons and their composites unified in the supersymmetric SU(5) GUT in five space-time dimensions. The model predicts exactly three families of the composite quarks and leptons being the triplets of the chiral horizontal symmetry SU(3)_h which automatically appears in the composite spectrum when going to ordinary four dimensions.Comment: 13 pages, tcilatex, no figures, v2 - misprints correcte

    Lepton Mixing Matrix in Standard Model Extended by One Sterile Neutrino

    We consider the simplest extension of the standard electroweak model by one sterile neutrino that allows for neutrino masses and mixing. We find that its leptonic sector contains much less free physical parameters than previously realized. In addition to the two neutrino masses, the lepton mixing matrix in charged current interactions involves (n-1) free physical mixing angles for n generations. The mixing matrix in neutral current interactions of neutrinos is completely fixed by the two masses. Both interactions conserve CP. We illustrate the phenomenological implications of the model by vacuum neutrino oscillations, tritium beta decay and neutrinoless double beta decay.     The open-charm radiative and pionic decays of molecular charmonium Y(4274)

    In this work, we investigate the decay widths and the line shapes of the open-charm radiative and pionic decays of Y(4274) with the DsDˉs0(2317)D_s\bar{D}_{s0}(2317) molecular charmonium assignment. Our calculation indicates that the decay widths of Y(4274)Ds+DsγY(4274)\to D^{+}_{s}D^{*-}_{s}\gamma and Y(4274)Ds+Dsπ0Y(4274)\to D^+_{s}D^-_{s}\pi^0 can reach up to 0.05 keV and 0.75 keV, respectively. In addition, the result of the line shape of the photon spectrum of Y(4274)Ds+DsγY(4274)\to D_s^+ {D}_s^{*-} \gamma shows that there exists a very sharp peak near the large end point of photon energy. The line shape of the pion spectrum of Y(4274)Ds+Dsπ0Y(4274)\to D_s^+ {D}_s^{*-} \pi^0 is similar to that of the pion spectrum of Y(4274)Ds+DsγY(4274)\to D_s^+ {D}_s^{*-} \gamma, where we also find a very sharp peak near the large end point of pion energy. According to our calculation, we suggest further experiments to carry out the search for the open-charm radiative and pionic decays of Y(4274).Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures, 1 table. Published versio
