Article evaluates the influence of vitrectomy on the state of free radical oxidation and antioxidant protection in tissues of the eye. Attention is paid to the study of the role of free radical reactions during vitectomy. Despite the great progress that has been made over the past decade in understanding the molecular mechanisms of the development of vitreoretinal pathologe development of preventive measures to prevent the degenerative changes of the vitreous is in the very beginning of the development. Therefore the diverse, including pilot studies will help to expand our knowledge of the biochemical changes occuring and help to develop optimal preventive measures

Purpose: assessment of activity of free radical oxidation and antioxidant protection during vitrectomy in patients with retinal detachment.Material and methods. We examined 67 patients with retinal detachment of various etiologies who underwentvitrectomy.Results. We observed a positive dynamics of free radical oxidation after the operation - a full recovery of biochemical parameters in the late postoperative period. Among the complications mentioned cataract development in some patients who did not receive antioxidant therapy.Summary: Optimal from the point of view of both the functional results and the status of free radical oxidation and antioxidant protection is the additional use during surgery means of antioxidant protection

The study (as the main group) 84 patients (84 eyes) aged 42-76 years with severe destructive changes of the vitreous (VDIST), as a control group examined 32 patients of appropriate age and sex, with little or no pathology of the vision. It was found that the occurrence of VDIST accompanied by significant enough violations of hemodynamic and biochemical parameters of the visual system, as well as the parameters of microcirculation. It is assumed that the significantly reduced level of functioning of visual analyzer patients with severe VDIST can be considered as one of the leading risk factors for the development of further more serious vitreoretinal disorders (retinal detachment, macular holes)

State of free radical oxidation in the surgical treatment of vitreous floating opacities

The paper describes the development of the local and general statement of free radical oxidation in patients with vitreous opacities during vitrectomy. We examined 35 patients who underwent surgical treatment of vitreous opacities. We observed a positive dynamics of free radical oxidation after the operation: a full recovery of biochemical parameters in the late postoperative period. Among the complications mentioned cataract development in some patients who did not receive antioxidant therapy. Vitrectomy improves the visual function and is supposed to be safe and efficient in patients with floating vitreous opacities

This article describes changes in the microcirculation of the eyeball in patients with hemophthalmus during vitrectomy. We examined 24 patients who underwent vitrectomy, according to testimory local lasercoagulation of retinal vessels. In the early postoperative period marked a temporary deterioration in microcirculation caused by eye injury during surgery. Positive effect of surgery to remove a blood clot on the state microhemodynamics achieved in the late postoperative period, manifested in the increasing speed performance perfusion eye capillaries and eliminating the overwhelming influence of the passive component in the system of regulation of microcirculation. Hemophthalmia holding surgical removal leads to a significant improvement of the basic microcirculation eyeball in the late postoperative period
