Robust Hā feedback control for uncertain stochastic delayed genetic regulatory networks with additive and multiplicative noise
The official published version can found at the link below.Noises are ubiquitous in genetic regulatory networks (GRNs). Gene regulation is inherently a stochastic process because of intrinsic and extrinsic noises that cause kinetic parameter variations and basal rate disturbance. Time delays are usually inevitable due to different biochemical reactions in such GRNs. In this paper, a delayed stochastic model with additive and multiplicative noises is utilized to describe stochastic GRNs. A feedback gene controller design scheme is proposed to guarantee that the GRN is mean-square asymptotically stable with noise attenuation, where the structure of the controllers can be specified according to engineering requirements. By applying control theory and mathematical tools, the analytical solution to the control design problem is given, which helps to provide some insight into synthetic biology and systems biology. The control scheme is employed in a three-gene network to illustrate the applicability and usefulness of the design. This work was funded by Royal Society of the U.K.; Foundation for the Author of National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of China. Cloning and expression of porcine Ī²1,4 N-acetylgalactosaminyl transferase encoding a new xenoreactive antigen
Xenograft rejection of pigs organs with an engineered mutation in the GGTA-1 gene (GTKO) remains a predominantly antibody mediated process which is directed to a variety of non-Gal protein and carbohydrate antigens. We previously used an expression library screening strategy to identify six porcine endothelial cell cDNAs which encode pig antigens that bind to IgG induced after pig-to-primate cardiac xenotransplantation. One of these gene products was a glycosyltransferase with homology to the bovine Ī²1,4 N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase (B4GALNT2). We now characterize the porcine B4GALNT2 gene sequence, genomic organization, expression, and functional significance
General covariant geometric momentum, gauge potential and a Dirac fermion on a two-dimensional sphere
For a particle that is constrained on an ()-dimensional ()
curved surface, the Cartesian components of its momentum in -dimensional
flat space is believed to offer a proper form of momentum for the particle on
the surface, which is called the geometric momentum as it depends on the mean
curvature. Once the momentum is made general covariance, the spin connection
part can be interpreted as a gauge potential. The present study consists in two
parts, the first is a discussion of the general framework for the general
covariant geometric momentum. The second is devoted to a study of a Dirac
fermion on a two-dimensional sphere and we show that there is the generalized
total angular momentum whose three cartesian components form the
algebra, obtained before by consideration of dynamics of the particle, and we
demonstrate that there is no curvature-induced geometric potential for the
fermion.Comment: 8 pages, no figure. Presentation improve
Crossover of magnetoresistance in the zerogap half-metallic Heusler alloy Fe2CoSi
This work reports on the band structure and magneto-transport investigations
of the inverse Heusler compound Fe2CoSi. The first-principles calculations
reveal that Fe2CoSi has a very peculiar band structure with a conducting
property in the majority spin channel and a nearly zero bandgap in the minority
spin channel. The synthesized Fe2CoSi sample shows a high-ordered inverse
Heusler structure with a magnetic moment of 4.88 {\mu}B at 5 K and a high Curie
temperature of 1038 K. With increasing temperature, a crossover from positive
to negative magnetoresistance (MR) is observed. Complemented with the Hall
effect measurements, we suggest the intriguing crossover of MR can be ascribed
to the dominant spin carriers changing from the gapless minority spin channel
to the majority spin channel at Fermi level.Comment: 16 pages, 5 figures, submitted for publicatio
MAP: Microblogging Assisted Profiling of TV Shows
Online microblogging services that have been increasingly used by people to
share and exchange information, have emerged as a promising way to profiling
multimedia contents, in a sense to provide users a socialized abstraction and
understanding of these contents. In this paper, we propose a microblogging
profiling framework, to provide a social demonstration of TV shows. Challenges
for this study lie in two folds: First, TV shows are generally offline, i.e.,
most of them are not originally from the Internet, and we need to create a
connection between these TV shows with online microblogging services; Second,
contents in a microblogging service are extremely noisy for video profiling,
and we need to strategically retrieve the most related information for the TV
show profiling. To address these challenges, we propose a MAP, a
microblogging-assisted profiling framework, with contributions as follows: i)
We propose a joint user and content retrieval scheme, which uses information
about both actors and topics of a TV show to retrieve related microblogs; ii)
We propose a social-aware profiling strategy, which profiles a video according
to not only its content, but also the social relationship of its microblogging
users and its propagation in the social network; iii) We present some
interesting analysis, based on our framework to profile real-world TV shows
Assembly strategy of liposome and polymer systems for siRNA delivery
In recent years, gene therapy has made tremendous progress in the development of disease treatment. Among them, siRNA offers specificity of gene silencing, ease of synthesis, and short development period, and has been intensively studied worldwide. However, siRNA as the hydrophilic polyanion is easily degraded in vivo and poorly taken up into cells and so, the benefits of its powerful gene silencing ability will not be realized until better carriers are developed that are capable of protecting siRNA and delivering it intact to the cytoplasm of the target cells. Cationic liposomes (CL) and cationic polymers (CP) are the main non-viral siRNA vectors, there have been a lot of reports on the use of these two carriers to deliver siRNA. Whereas, as far as we know, there have been few review articles that provide an in-depth summary of the siRNA loading principle and internal structures of the siRNA delivery system. We summarize the formation principle and assembly structure of the cationic liposome-siRNA and polymer-siRNA complexes, and point out their advantages and characteristics and also show how to perfect their assembly and improve their clinical application in the future. It supports some useful suggestions for siRNA therapy, specifically, safe and efficient delivery
