    Social commerce from the information systems perspective: a systematic literature review

    The evolution of social media has changed the conventional e-commerce to social commerce. The delayed growth of the social commerce is however relatively low researched in the Information Systems disciple despite its intense evolution. As a result, this paper aims to critically probe into existing and related work in the area of social commerce from the Information Systems perspective. The standard systematic literature review method employing a physical search of 12 journals and 6 conference proceedings were used in conducting the literature review. The comprehensive systematic literature review is valuable in bridging the social commerce gap and opens up novel directions to Information Systems scholars in this market segment

    Finding the right information quickly and easily to make informed decisions is one of the biggest challenges faced by PWD today.To automate the management of the knowledge assets, PWD have to stand back and take a strategic approach – to understand why and where knowledge management (KM) will deliver the greatest benefits.Knowledge not so many years ago was based on paper filing, and PWD depended on knowledgeable workers who knew how it was filed, and had experience that enabled them to make ‘informed’ decisions.Today, this has all changed as information is held electronically and often needs to be shared with others beyond the traditional boundaries of the corporation.The objective is to make pilot study on the automation of the knowledge asset based on Knowledge Management in Project Monitoring System Unit, Information Technology Centre, Corporate Management Branches of PWD by leveraging on the existing Information Technology Infrastructure available.The outcome of the study will be presented to the Director of Corporate Management Branches of Public Works Department (PWD) as a pilot project

    Factors influencing graphical user algorithm for mobile banking user authentication: a systematic literature review

    The usability and security issues associated with mobile banking user authentication techniques and security have been constantly mentioned. With the increasing number of mobile users, which currently is estimated to be about 500million users by 2015 according to a study done by the Yankee Group in 2011, the main objective of this study is to review studies on mobile banking usability factors and graphical user authentication algorithms on the suitable algorithm to be adopted for mobile banking user authentication. A total of 84 articles were extracted using a predefined search string. A quality criterion was applied on the set of articles and a total of 22 articles were determined for further analysis. 8 factors were determined to influence our scope of research study with the main factors for mobile banking usability being mobile banking user adoption and usability features and for graphical user authentication being graphical passwords and graphical authentication

    Evaluating Open Source Software Using The Selection Criteria And Analytical Hierarchy Process

    Abstract: There are many potential and good open source software (OSS) products available in the market with free license. However, with various choices, the adoption rate is still low among OSS potential users because there is not an agreed acceptable set of criteria to evaluate and decide varieties of OSS products, with little documentation and user manuals, and immature products. Therefore, the users need to consider on how to improve decision making on selecting the most suitable OSS products. In this paper, the background research on the proposed OSS adoption and criteria of selection are discussed and explored which then moves to the implementation of the My Open Source Software Toolkit (MyOSST) v1.0. The analytical hierarchy process (AHP) was applied for selecting the most suitable OSS products and assisting the potential user for deciding the OSS products based on their preferred selection criteria. The toolkit will support the OSS adoption process with proposed criteria selection and pair wise comparison. The toolkit was tested and validated by IT professionals capable to assist the decision making on selecting an appropriate OSS product

    The Information Technology Strategic Planning (ITSP) was developed to lead and reflect the organizational achievement and future aspiration. The plan basically includes the information technology (IT) goals and strategies for the next few years. The intention was to justify IT contributions towards the efficiency, effectiveness and competitiveness. The plan may comprise of associated IT projects to achieve the planning strategies. Previous study has concluded that most of the plans are usually hard to manage due to various projects involved. Therefore, many performance measurement models and frameworks have been investigated and exploited to address the problem. Measuring ITSP implementation is important to justify the achievement of the planned projects. The focus of this paper is describing the application of the strategy mapping and cause and- effect relationship approach on measuring the achievement of the strategies and projects involved in the ITSP. This paper also report on the testing results of the related approach on the real case study to identify its applicability and measurability

    A content validity study for big data analytics implementation model

    Despite the vast investigations that had assessed the capabilities of big data analytics (BDA), studies regarding the influential factors of BDA implementation (BDAI) are in scarcity, particularly within the organisational context. The paucity of studies on BDAI evaluation has partly motivated this study. As such, this study performed content validation in developing a BDAI model. Validation of survey instrument is essential in a quantitative research. Data were retrieved from a panel of seven big data experts, both from industries and academic. Next, the scores were analysed by incorporating item-content validity index (I-CVI) and modified kappa (K) statistics. From a set of 64 items, the content validity process discarded 9 items and retained 55 items, with the revised items proceeded for further analysis. This particular content validity study revealed that the assessed instrument can be used to develop a viable level of content validity. This study may serve as a guide amidst Information Systems (IS) researchers, especially the big data domain in devising valid and reliable instruments

    Big data analytics (BDA) readiness factors have been widely researched; nevertheless, few have investigated the impact and success factors of BDA implementation in the organizational context. The relevance and quality of BDA outcomes have been a significant concern to the organizational leaders in supporting them for strategic decision-making. To that end, the objective of this study is twofold. Firstly, it investigates the factors that influencing the success of BDA implementation for effective decision-making. Secondly, this study adds to the body of knowledge in the information system (IS) domain, especially with its focus on BDA implementation packages. Based on 18 selected papers, this review has established 10 influencing factors that may influence the success of BDA implementation, therefore, contribute to the practice and research of BDA domain and its effectiveness towards the organizational performance enhancement

However, the analytics outcome and quality of big data analytics (BDA) implementation has yet to be addressed. Therefore the aims of this paper are to identify and analyze the affecting factors and elements of BDA implementation and to propose a conceptual model for effective decision-making through BDA implementation assessment. The model is developed based on three dimensions such as performing data strategy (organization), collaborative knowledge worker (people) and executing data analytics (technology). The findings of this ongoing study proceeds with designing a proposed conceptual model with the research hypothesis and may provide a better assessment model for effective decision-making in the long run

    This paper aims to propose the benchmarking process for KM Best Practice Model to suits Higher Learning Institution (HLI) environment. The need for Benchmarking of KM Best Practice Model is due to the lack of research made to confirm the Best KM Model for HLI. Benchmarking process will helps HLI to ensure continuous improvement and hopefully will uplift KM state in HLI by implementing benchmarked KM Best Practice Model due to the stagnant state of KM in HLI for the past 10 years. Method: Literature for Benchmarking were extracted to propose the right benchmarking process for HLI environment.Several KM models were extracted from the literature and reviewed. The KM Model were selected to suit the HLI environment in Malaysia, this is to ensure the KM Model selected served as the best KM model to be practice in the future or practically named internal benchmarking. Conclusion: The paper proposed Benchmarking process for KM Best Practice Model to suits HLI. The moderator for KM Best Practice Model were identified to proceed with the KM Best Practice Components effectiveness validation in the future study.This study also proposed a conceptual Model for KM Best Practice
