Improved Design of a Worm Type Instrument for Final Machining of Evolvent Gear Teeth
© 2017 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd. In connection with the absence of possibility to process gear-wheels with large allowance at machining of disk shavers (for example, after the preliminary rolling-up of points), N.V. Smorkalov et al. have worked out the construction of a worm type instrument with a continuous spiral cutting edge. The limitations of this construction were unfavorable terms of cutting wedge work for lack of the structurally executed rake which resulted in the subzero treatment productivity. For simplification of the procedure, regrinding of this instrument and minimization of the nascent "organic" error at regrinding on the outward cylindrical surface, a decision was made to bring in the instrument construction developed by N.V. Smorkalov et al. of positive rake γ, form a radius ditch and two antihunt ribbons breadthways l executed on an outward cylindrical surface. Thus, threading-in of the instrument gets better in metal with shaving deformation diminishing and its tails get better, while the force and cutting power are deminished

Profitability increase of pre-production and autocomponents issue project
© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd. In modern conditions auto components domestic manufacturers should not only improve the quality of products to the world level, but also provide the greatest possible profit. As a result, a technique for developing modern technological documentation was proposed. In the framework of this methodology, requirements to modern technological documentation have been developed, factors of profitability decrease in the APQP project cycle have been identified, work grouping providing the best results for the APQP process stages has been grouped, technological information as the basis of enterprise management has been worked out, technological design and technical documentation processes have been developed, scheme of the process of technological design. In the paper, the key control characteristics of technological transitions are systematized, the principles of management of the preparation of production (technological design) based on technical documentation are formulated. The developed measures allow at the stage of technological design not only to obtain information for managing the auto component quality, but also to prevent potential losses, that is, to increase the profitability of the project
Spherical part of ball end mill with constant tool cutting edge inclination
© TJPRC Pvt. Ltd. The article is devoted to the design of the end radius cutter spherical section. It is proposed to consider the variant with a constant inclination angle of the cutting edge. The obtaining of a constant inclination angle is possible with the transition from a planar Cartesian system to non-Euclidean spaces. The logarithmic spiral has the property of the angle constancy provision between the radius vector and the plane tangent. When it is folded onto the Riemann sphere by the means of affine transformations, the spiral retains this property. Geometrically, this folding represents an inverse stereographic projection. The constant angle of inclination allows you to design the spherical section of the radius cutter with constant cutting angles in a normal section. The design in a normal section is convenient for tool production, and also correlates with the modern theory according to which chips move in the direction normal to the cutting edge of the tool with small deviations. The constancy of the angles in the normal section provides favorable angles in the end section and the section parallel to the axis. The constancy of the angles increases the uniformity of the milling, reducing the cutting forces and increasing the tool life
