The purpose of the study is to identify and compare territorial zones, volumetric-spatial characteristics of buildings and the peculiarities of the formation of open public spaces in Zelenodolsk. The main results of the study are that a comprehensive urban planning analysis was carried out, on the basis of which the features of the formation of territorial zones in the city were revealed, the boundaries of spatial-environmental morphotypes, their environmental features were identified, and the specificity of the formation of a design code for different areas of the city was determined. The significance of the results obtained for architecture and urban planning lies in the fact that the concept of the form-based code developed in the study for Zelenodolsk can become the basis for updating (or updating) urban planning documents (Local standards for urban planning, General plan, urban planning regulations, City beautification rules). The method of identifying and forming spatial-environmental morphotypes in the city is also of great importance, as the basis for creating a form-based code for Russian small and medium-sized industrial cities

Economic efficiency of the water monitoring system in Nigeria

    No full text
Currently, many areas in Nigeria face strong water stress, and to reduce the pressure exerted on water, making water a reusable ecosystem service is essential. Economic efficiency of a water monitoring system can involve having a program to influence and manage water resources and the environment based on the utilization of modern information technologies and techniques. This article aims at demonstrating the importance of Economic efficiency of a water monitoring system, cases and deaths from water-related diseases by decade. A significant factor of managing water safety is understanding water availability, demand, utilization, how it acts in response to change, climate and pressures. Comprehensive understanding of a water system correctly and deeply depends on professionalism, monitoring, documentation and reporting of water system parameters. Human health risk assessment model was applied to estimate cases and deaths from water-related diseases

On the Role of Linguistics in Ecosystem Management

    No full text
Ecosystem management is a speciality guaranteeing quality in knowledge towards management and modernization of innovations in ecology. Effective ecosystem management demands tools to overcome the difficulties and limitations of methodologies in the development and implementation of environmental policies. To achieve the appropriate application of principles of knowledge in different languages, the relevance of Linguistics emerges. The main purpose of this study is to develop an understanding of the fact that making use of resources from Linguistics is specific in the direction of understanding the mechanics of language. which creates a platform for a better understanding of the maintenance of natural resource in various languages. Ecosystem management is essential to the harmony of the natural habitats of organisms. Management of natural resources and habitats are necessary regardless of uncertainty. Ignoring tradeoffs among ecosystem services can create unwanted management outcomes

Temperature distribution in Switzerland over the past 155 years: is climate change around the corner?

    No full text
The article presents the results of the study of the temperature distribution in Switzerland during the period of 1864-2019. The data set has been obtained from the records of the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology «MeteoSwiss». 3120 measurements of temperature taken in twelve periods have been processed. The temperature distribution over the period of 155 years has been analysed. The statistically significant influence of the factor (period) on the parameter (temperature) has been determined. The considerable differences between the annual values of temperature distribution in Switzerland and its regions as well as between the average values of temperature distribution by seasons during each studied period have been found out. Finally, taking into account the results of the research, the recommendations for further work on the study of climate change have been formulated

The article presents the results of the research carried out by the foreign ecologists, particularly the study of the system of municipal waste management in the municipality of Maienfeld, Switzerland. The total amount of municipal waste has been calculated. The systems of municipal waste collection, sorting, transportation and recycling have been studied. Besides, four possible scenarios of waste recycling in Maienfeld have been developed. Moreover, the environmental assessment of the waste recycling system by GHG/SLCP emissions has been conducted, and the impact of recycling on the climate has been determined. Finally, taking into account the results of the research, the best scenario of recycling has been proposed

The global threat of the 21st century is the uncontrolled use of antibiotics. Many bacteria have developed resistance to antibacterial drugs, resulting in drug-resistant superbugs. The article presents the results of the case study of Russian food products from the stores in the city of Moscow and analyzes them for the presence of antibiotics. The object of the study is the Russian market of animal products. The subject of the study is detecting the presence of antibiotics in food products on the Russian market. As a result of studying of the range of food products of animal origin, it has been revealed that the amount of harmful substances (such as antibiotics) meets the MPC standards, according to the Russian GOST standards. The research results obtained in laboratory conditions are of interest for assessing the prevalence of antibiotic residues in meat and dairy products. Based on the monitoring studies, it has been found out that most of the residual antibiotics were present in poultry meat. In all three samples, the antibiotic enrofloxacin was found but the MPC of the antibiotic was not exceeded (the norm is not more than 100 ÎĽg / kg)
