On the existence of solutions to nonlinear systems of higher order Poisson type
In this paper, we study the existence of higher order Poisson type systems.
In detail, we prove a Residue type phenomenon for the fundamental solution of
Laplacian in \RR^n, n\ge 3. This is analogous to the Residue theorem for the
Cauchy kernel in \CC. With the aid of the Residue type formula for the
fundamental solution, we derive the higher order derivative formula for the
Newtonian potential and obtain its appropriate \s C^{k, \alpha} estimates.
The existence of solutions to higher order Poisson type nonlinear systems is
concluded as an application of the fixed point theorem.Comment: 33 page
Wideband DOA Estimation via Sparse Bayesian Learning over a Khatri-Rao Dictionary
This paper deals with the wideband direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation by exploiting the multiple measurement vectors (MMV) based sparse Bayesian learning (SBL) framework. First, the array covariance matrices at different frequency bins are focused to the reference frequency by the conventional focusing technique and then transformed into the vector form. Then a matrix called the Khatri-Rao dictionary is constructed by using the Khatri-Rao product and the multiple focused array covariance vectors are set as the new observations. DOA estimation is to find the sparsest representations of the new observations over the Khatri-Rao dictionary via SBL. The performance of the proposed method is compared with other well-known focusing based wideband algorithms and the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB). The results show that it achieves higher resolution and accuracy and can reach the CRLB under relative demanding conditions. Moreover, the method imposes no restriction on the pattern of signal power spectral density and due to the increased number of rows of the dictionary, it can resolve more sources than sensors

Neutrino and anti-neutrino transport in accretion disks
We numerically solve the one dimensional Boltzmann equation of the neutrino
and anti-neutrino transport in accretion disks and obtain the fully energy
dependent and direction dependent neutrino and anti-neutrino emitting spectra,
under condition that the distribution of the mass density,temperature and
chemical components are given. Then, we apply the resulting neutrino and
anti-neutrino emitting spectra to calculate the corresponding annihilation rate
of neutrino pairs above the neutrino dominated accretion disk and find that the
released energy resulting from the annihilation of neutrino pairs can not
provide sufficient energy for the most energetic short gamma ray bursts whose
isotropic luminosity can be as high as ergs/s unless the high
temperature zone where the temperature is beyond 10 MeV can stretch over 200 km
in the disk. We also compare the resulting luminosity of neutrinos and
anti-neutrinos with the results from the two commonly used approximate
treatment of the neutrino and anti-neutrino luminosity: the Fermi-Dirac black
body limit and a simplified model of neutrino transport, i.e., the gray body
model, and find that both of them overestimate the neutrino/anti-neutrino
luminosity and their annihilation rate greatly. Additionally, as did in Sawyer
(2003), we also check the validity of the two stream approximation, and find
