    Branching integrals and Casselman phenomenon

Let GG be a real semisimple Lie group, KK its maximal complex subgroup, and GCG_C its complexification. It is known that all the KK-finite matrix elements on GG admit holomorphic continuation to branching functions on GCG_C having singularities at the a prescribed divisor. We propose a geometric explanation of this phenomenon. The note also contsins a general survey of holomorphic continuations of infinite-dimensional representations.Comment: 13pp, an addendum is adde

    The vector-valued big q-Jacobi transform

Big qq-Jacobi functions are eigenfunctions of a second order qq-difference operator LL. We study LL as an unbounded self-adjoint operator on an L2L^2-space of functions on R\mathbb R with a discrete measure. We describe explicitly the spectral decomposition of LL using an integral transform F\mathcal F with two different big qq-Jacobi functions as a kernel, and we construct the inverse of F\mathcal F.Comment: 35 pages, corrected an error and typo

Stein--Sahi complementary series and their degenerations

The aim of the paper is an introduction to Stein--Sahi complementary series, holomorphic series, and 'unipotent representations'. We also discuss some open problems related to these objects. For the sake of simplicity, we consider only the groups U(n,n).Comment: 40pp, 7fig, revised versio
