catena-Poly[[silver(I)-μ-N-(3-pyridylmethyl)pyridine-4-carboxamide] nitrate monohydrate]
In the title compound, {[Ag(C12H11N3O)]NO3·H2O}n, the Ag atom is coordinated by two N atoms from the heterocyclic ligand, giving a linear polycationic chain. Two long Ag⋯Onitrate interactions [2.667 (3) and 2.840 (3) Å] result in a three-dimensional network. The water molecule consolidates the network structure by forming hydrogen bonds, one to the polycationic chain and one to the nitrate anion
How does parental rearing patterns of children in upper primary school impact social withdrawal? A mediating effect of emotional regulation
IntroductionThe present study endeavors to elucidate the impact of emotional regulation and parental rearing patterns on the social development of children in the upper grades of primary school. A burgeoning body of literature suggests that these factors significantly influence children’s social adaptation and emotional well-being, yet a comprehensive examination of these relationships is warranted.MethodsEmploying a cross-sectional design, this investigation utilized the Egna Minnen Beträffande Uppfostran (EMBU), Emotional Regulation Questionnaire for Children (ERQC), and Child Behavioural Issues Scale (CBCL) to assess a sample of 276 pupils across grades 4–6. The selection of these instruments allowed for a multifaceted evaluation of the constructs of interest.ResultsA pronounced disparity in parental rearing practices, emotional regulation capabilities, and levels of social withdrawal was observed among the different grades, with grade 5 exhibiting the most pronounced effects. Parental emotional warmth demonstrated a significant positive correlation with children’s emotional regulation abilities, while punitive, rejecting, and preferential behaviors were inversely correlated. The study established that parental rearing practices indirectly influence social withdrawal through the mediating role of children’s emotional regulation, underscoring the complexity of this relationship.ConclusionThe results underscore the salient role of parental rearing and emotional regulation in the social development of children. The study contributes to the existing literature by providing a nuanced understanding of the mechanisms through which parenting styles and emotional competencies interplay to affect social withdrawal. Implications for educational practices and future research directions are discussed
Applications of Tao General Difference in Discrete Domain
Numerical difference computation is one of the cores and indispensable in the
modern digital era. Tao general difference (TGD) is a novel theory and approach
to difference computation for discrete sequences and arrays in multidimensional
space. Built on the solid theoretical foundation of the general difference in a
finite interval, the TGD operators demonstrate exceptional signal processing
capabilities in real-world applications. A novel smoothness property of a
sequence is defined on the first- and second TGD. This property is used to
denoise one-dimensional signals, where the noise is the non-smooth points in
the sequence. Meanwhile, the center of the gradient in a finite interval can be
accurately location via TGD calculation. This solves a traditional challenge in
computer vision, which is the precise localization of image edges with noise
robustness. Furthermore, the power of TGD operators extends to spatio-temporal
edge detection in three-dimensional arrays, enabling the identification of
kinetic edges in video data. These diverse applications highlight the
properties of TGD in discrete domain and the significant promise of TGD for the
computation across signal processing, image analysis, and video analytic.Comment: This paper is the application part of the paper "Tao General
Differential and Difference: Theory and Application". The theory part of the
paper is renamed as "A Theory of General Difference in Continuous and
Discrete Domain", which is Arxived in arXiv:2305.08098v
