In this study, the soil moisture content was measured, and the quantitative characteristics of this sedge species were compared. The phenotypic plasticity of each parameter and the linear regression relationships were analyzed. The results showed that the soil moisture content was significantly affected by location, soil depth, and sampling date. The aboveground biomass, underground biomass, biomass density, and population density at the peak were significantly higher than elsewhere on the dune. However, the morphological plasticity index of the quantitative characteristics was higher at the base and middle of the dune. When the soil moisture content decreased, the underground biomass and ramet biomass density increased. The aboveground and underground biomasses were strongly negatively correlated, but the ramet height and aboveground biomass were strongly positively correlated. These results indicated that the soil water content significantly affected the clonal growth of C. physodes. The responsiveness of C. physodes may be adaptive when the soil resource supply is low. The strong morphological plasticity of the species appears to be ecologically important for the maintenance and dominance of this species in the dune habitat

Changes in the spatial pattern of land use are inextricably linked to the ecosystem environment, and the assessment of regional eco-environment quality can help provide sustainable and healthy development strategies for heritage management organizations. In this study, based on RS and GIS technologies, we quantitatively analyzed the characteristics of land use changes in the Shibing Karst World Natural Heritage site from 2000 to 2020, and introduced the regional eco-environment quality assessment index for quantitative factor analysis. The results show that: (1) The heritage site is mainly dominated by forest and shrub, with more aggregated cropland, and impervious surfaces in the buffer zone. The area of shrub has increased during the 20-year period, occupying 12.63% of the total transferred area. Cropland has been basically converted to forest, accounting for more than 60% of the total transferred area, followed by shrubs, which have been basically transferred to ecologically better land types. (2) By analyzing the attitude of motivation, forest, shrub, and water have positive values, while cropland, grassland, and impervious surfaces have negative values. Grassland has the largest absolute value of kinetic attitude, and the smallest is for water. The integrated dynamic attitude is basically maintained at 24%, showing a state of rapid and then stable land category conversion. (3) Over the past 20 years, the regional eco-environment quality index has been stable between 0.68 and 0.71, and shows a trend of rapid growth and stabilization, which is consistent with the comprehensive attitude. The conversion between cropland, forest, and shrubs is the main cause of ecological improvement and deterioration. Overall, the relevant conservation measures at the site and China’s corresponding responses to global climate change have led to a stabilization and increase in the regional ecological quality of the site. The management measures of the relevant authorities have begun to bear fruit, but further promotion of the sustainable development of the site is needed to provide a scientific model for the conservation of other karst heritage sites

Background and objective Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) have the highest incidence of lung cancer which treatment principles are diagnosis and treatment as early as possible. Because of its insidious onset and lack of specific markers for early screening, most patients are at an advanced stage when diagnosed which results in a low 5-year survival rate and poor prognosis. Therefore Exploring a sensitive biomarker is the focus of current diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. The aim of this study is to investigate the biological markers in serum of patients with I-IIb stage NSCLC by differential peptidomics analysis. Methods The serum peptidome was compared and analyzed among the groups of normal health controls, benign lung diseases and early stage NSCLC patients using a nano ultra-performance liquid chromatography combined with a quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometer. The differentially expressed polypeptides were identified and analyzed quantitatively to screen the tumor biomarkers for the early diagnosis of NSCLC patients. Results According to the Swiss-Prot database, a total of 545 polypeptides originated from 118 proteins were identified. The spectral numbers of serum polypeptides in each group were compared and a total of 201 polypeptides differentially expressed were found. Following a quantitative analysis of the above peptides, we found that there were 7 peptides with the coefficient of variation (CV) less than 30% and among them the peptide of QGAKIPKPEASFSPR from ITIH4 was down-regulated and the peptide of CDDYRLC from MGP was up-regulated in NSCLC group. Conclusion The tumor biomarkers obtained by serum peptidome technology can provide a new clue for early diagnosis of NSCLC and the specific peptides hydrolyzed from ITIH4 and MGP may be the serum biological markers for early NSCLC patients

    No full text
As a two-dimensional semiconductor, WS2 has attracted great attention due to its rich physical properties and potential applications. However, it is still difficult to synthesize monolayer single-crystalline WS2 at larger scale. Here, we report the growth of large-scale triangular single-crystalline WS2 with a semi-sealed installation by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Through this method, triangular single-crystalline WS2 with an average length of more than 300 µm was obtained. The largest one was about 405 μm in length. WS2 triangles with different sizes and thicknesses were analyzed by optical microscope and atomic force microscope (AFM). Their optical properties were evaluated by Raman and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. This report paves the way to fabricating large-scale single-crystalline monolayer WS2, which is useful for the growth of high-quality WS2 and its potential applications in the future

ObjectiveOver the years when biologic psoriasis therapies (TNF inhibitors, IL-12/23 inhibitors, IL-23 inhibitors, and IL-17 inhibitors) have been used in psoriasis patients, reports of major cardiovascular events (MACEs) have emerged. This study aims to investigate the association between MACEs and biologic psoriasis therapies by using information reported to the US Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS).MethodsFAERS data (January 2004 to December 2022) were reviewed. For each drug–event pair, the proportional reporting ratio (PRR) and the multi-item gamma Poisson shrinker (MGPS) algorithms were used to identify drug–adverse event associations.ResultsWe filtered the query for indication and identified 173,330 reports with psoriasis indication in FAERS throughout the analyzed time frame. MACEs occurred in 4,206 patients treated with biologics. All the four biological classes had an elevated and similar reporting rates for MACEs relative to other alternative psoriasis treatments (PRR from 2.10 to 4.26; EB05 from 1.15 to 2.45). The descending order of association was IL-12/23 inhibitors>IL-17 inhibitors>IL-23 inhibitors>TNF inhibitors. The signal strength for myocardial infarction (PRR, 2.86; χ2, 296.27; EBGM 05, 1.13) was stronger than that for stroke, cardiac fatality, and death. All the biological classes demonstrated a little higher EBGM 05 score≥1 for the MACEs in patients aged 45–64 years. The time-to-onset of MACEs was calculated with a median of 228 days.ConclusionsAnalysis of adverse event reports in the FAERS reflects the potential risk of MACEs associated with the real-world use of biological therapies in comparison to other alternative psoriasis treatments. Future long-term and well-designed studies are needed to further our knowledge regarding the cardiovascular safety profile of these agents.</p

Optimization of the One-Size-Fits-All Layout Problem Based on Preparing Material for Steel Bridges

    No full text
Before the construction of a bridge begins, workers arrange the necessary parts and then cut and process them. The quality of the cutting layout directly affects the material utilization rate and the efficiency of the subsequent processes. During bridge construction, an intelligent part layout can improve work efficiency, save time, and reduce the labor intensity and production costs for the company. In this study, we studied a layout optimization algorithm, focusing on rectangular parts in the material preparation process. A mathematical model for the rectangular layout problem was constructed, and a hybrid genetic whale optimization algorithm is proposed that is a combination of the whale optimization algorithm and the genetic algorithm. Based on the “one size fits all” layout strategy, the materials are divided into strips, which are further divided into stacks, serving as the positioning strategy to determine the positional relationships of the parts. Test cases and actual engineering data were used to compare the layouts generated using different algorithms. The results show that the genetic whale algorithm proposed in this paper results in a high utilization rate and is highly effective

    No full text
Karst rocky desertification is one of the main causes of habitat fragmentation in Southwest China. Guizhou Province is located in the center of the karst area in southern China and is a typical karst ecological environment fragile area. Many studies have shown that habitat fragmentation is the main factor leading to the loss of biodiversity and species extinction, and it is also one of the important factors that threaten the survival of natural organisms. This study initially explored the habitat fragmentation degree, species diversity, and genetic diversity of leafhoppers in three typical karst areas in Guizhou. The study was combined with the general situation of the study area, understanding the main factors affecting habitat fragmentation, and putting forward reasonable protection suggestions for species resources. Based on satellite imagery, field survey collection, molecular sequencing data, and related index measurement methods, we measured the habitat fragmentation degree, species diversity index, and genetic diversity index of Erythroneurine leafhoppers of Shibing Yuntai Mountain Nature Reserve, Bijie Salaxi Demonstration Zone, Zhenfeng-Huajiang Demonstration Zone. Moreover, we compared the differences in the three study areas, carried out correlation analysis with relevant environmental factors, and discussed the main factors that formed the results. The results of the study show that the species diversity and genetic diversity of Erythroneurine leafhoppers in the study areas are affected by habitat fragmentation, and the weaker the degree of habitat fragmentation in the region, the higher the species diversity and genetic diversity, which is specifically manifested in species, quantity, and gene-flow. Understanding the status of biodiversity in karst areas is conducive to the sustainable development of biological resources. In order to better protect the diversity of such insects and their host plants and other biological diversity, combined with the background of the research area, we propose corresponding protection measures for reference

    No full text
Purpose To make a propensity-score matching analysis on the clinical application of gastric-jejunum pouch anastomosis (GJPA) and continuous jejunal pouch and residual stomach anastomosis combined with jejunal lateral anastomosis (Contin-L). Methods The clinic data of 287 patients who received distal gastrectomy from January 2015 to January 2019 were collected retrospectively. The enrolled patients were divided into the GJPA group and the Contin-L group according to the reconstruction method used. Clinical data and operation complications were analyzed. Results Compared with Contin-L group, the duration of digestive tract reconstruction in the GJPA group was shorter, and the overall cost in the GJPA group was lower. No obvious intergroup differences were found in other intraoperative data, early surgical outcomes, incidence rates of reflux gastritis, anastomotic ulcer, postoperative nutritional and hematological indicators. The postoperative subjective feelings in the GJPA group were similar with those in the Contin-L groups. Conclusion Addition of jejunal lateral anastomosis is not necessary for GJPA following distal gastrectomy

Cytoplasm Types Affect DNA Methylation among Different Cytoplasmic Male Sterility Lines and Their Maintainer Line in Soybean (Glycine max L.)

    No full text
Cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) lines and their maintainer line have the same nucleus but different cytoplasm types. We used three soybean (Glycine max L.) CMS lines, JLCMS9A, JLCMSZ9A, and JLCMSPI9A, and their maintainer line, JLCMS9B, to explore whether methylation levels differed in their nuclei. Whole-genome bisulfite sequencing of these four lines was performed. The results show that the cytosine methylation level in the maintainer line was lower than in the CMS lines. Compared with JLCMS9B, the Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment analysis of DMR (differentially methylated region, DMR)-related genes of JLCMS9A revealed that their different 5-methylcytosine backgrounds were enriched in molecular function, whereas JLCMSZ9A and JLCMSPI9A were enriched in biological process and cellular component. The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genome (KEGG) analysis of DMR-related genes and different methylated promoter regions in different cytosine contexts, hypomethylation or hypermethylation, showed that the numbers of DMR-related genes and promoter regions were clearly different. According to the DNA methylation and genetic distances separately, JLCMS9A clustered with JLCMS9B, and JLCMSPI9A with JLCMSZ9A. Thus, the effects of different cytoplasm types on DNA methylation were significantly different. This may be related to their genetic distances revealed by re-sequencing these lines. The detected DMR-related genes and pathways that are probably associated with CMS are also discussed
