On echo intervals in gravitational wave echo analysis
Gravitational wave echoes, if they exist, could encode important information
of new physics from the strong gravity regime. Current echo searches usually
assume constant interval echoes (CIEs) a priori, although unequal interval
echoes (UIEs) are also possible. Despite of its simplicity, the using of CIE
templates need to be properly justified, especially given the high sensitivity
of future gravitational wave detectors. In this paper, we assess the necessity
of UIE templates in echo searches. By reconstructing injected UIE signals with
both CIE and UIE templates, we show that the CIE template may significantly
misinterpret the echo signals if the variation of the interval is greater than
the statistical errors of the interval, which is further confirmed by a
Bayesian analysis on model stelection. We also forecast the constraints on the
echo intervals given by future GW detectors such as Advanced LIGO and Einstein
Telescope.Comment: 7 pages,6 figures and 3 table
Correlation between periostin and SNCG and esophageal cancer invasion, infiltration and apoptosis
AbstractObjectiveTo investigate the correlation between periostin and SNCG and esophageal cancer invasion, infiltration and apoptosis.MethodsA total of 78 cases esophageal surgical resection specimens were collected, expression of periostin and SNCG in esophageal cancer were detected. Effect of periostin and SNCG in esophageal carcinoma invasion and infiltration was analyzed.ResultsThe upregulated rate of periostin had significant difference in esophageal cancer tissues (39.74%), adjacent tissues (17.86%) and normal tissues (0.00%); The positive expression rates of SNCG had significant difference in esophageal cancer tissues (61.54%), adjacent tissues (32.14%) and normal tissues (1.96%); The upregulated rate of periostin had a significant correlation with lymph node metastasis, adventitia invasion, TNM stage; The positive expression rates of SNCG had a significant correlation with differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis, adventitia invasion, TNM stage; Apoptosis index of the positive of expression of SNCG of esophageal cancer tissue (4.541±2.267) was significantly lower than that of the negative expression (7.316±2.582) (P<0.05).ConclusionsSNCG may play an important role in invasion, infiltration and apoptosis of esophageal cancer and serve as target spots in the targeted therapy of esophageal cancer
Are gravitational wave ringdown echoes always equal-interval ?
Gravitational wave (GW) ringdown waveforms may contain "echoes" that encode
new physics in the strong gravity regime. It is commonly assumed that the new
physics gives rise to the GW echoes whose intervals are constant. We point out
that this assumption is not always applicable. In particular, if the
post-merger object is initially a wormhole, which slowly pinches off and
eventually collapses into a black hole, the late-time ringdown waveform exhibit
a series of echoes whose intervals are increasing with time. We also assess how
this affects the ability of Advanced LIGO/Virgo to detect these new signals.Comment: 10 pages,5 figure
Latest Observational Constraints to the Ghost Dark Energy Model by Using Markov Chain Monte Carlo Approach
Recently, the vacuum energy of the QCD ghost in a time-dependent background
is proposed as a kind of dark energy candidate to explain the acceleration of
the universe. In this model, the energy density of the dark energy is
proportional to the Hubble parameter , which is the Hawking temperature on
the Hubble horizon of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe. In this
paper, we perform a constraint on the ghost dark energy model with and without
bulk viscosity, by using the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method and the
combined latest observational data from the type Ia supernova compilations
including Union2.1(580) and Union2(557), cosmic microwave background, baryon
acoustic oscillation, and the observational Hubble parameter data.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figure
