A review on evaluation of crack resistance of asphalt mixture by semi-circular bending test
A B S T R A C T: Although there are many kinds of fracture tests to choose from in evaluating the crack resistance of asphalt mixture, the semi-circular bending (SCB) test has attracted a lot of attention in the academic road engineering community because of its simplicity, stability, and flexibility in testing and evaluation. The SCB test has become a common method to study the cracking resistance of asphalt mixture in recent years. This paper mainly summarizes the overview of the SCB test, summarizes some research results and common characterization parameters of the SCB test method in monotone test and fatigue test in recent years, and predicts and suggests the research direction of the SCB test in the future. It is found that the research on the monotonic SCB test is more comprehensive, and the research on the SCB fatigue test needs to be further improved in the aspects of loading mode, characterization parameter selection, and so on. Researchers can flexibly adjust the geometric dimensions and the test parameters of semi-cylindrical specimens, and conduct comprehensive analysis combined with the results of numerical simulation. The crack resistance of asphalt mixture can be comprehensively evaluated by fracture energy, fracture toughness, stiffness, flexibility index and other fracture indicators, combined with the crack propagation of the specimen. The analysis of numerical simulation can confirm the test results. In order to standardize the setting of fatigue parameters for future application, it is necessary to standardize the setting of bending performance
Assembly of Tomato Rhizobacteria from Different Functional Groups Improves Seedling Photosynthesis and Growth
The rhizosphere harbors abundant plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) that are vital for plant health. In this study, we screened growth-promoting bacteria from tomato rhizosphere soil, verified their functions, and constructed the optimal combination of growth-promoting bacteria for promoting tomato growth. Furthermore, the effects of these bacteria on various physiological and biochemical parameters of tomato plants were evaluated. A total of 36 strains of rhizobacteria were isolated from tomato rhizosphere soil and their abilities to produce indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), solubilize phosphate and iron carriers were assessed. The bacterial strains with the highest capacities for IAA production (R62, R317), phosphate solubilization (R41, R219), and siderophore production (R25, R325) were selected to form three bacterial combinations: R62 + R219 + R317 + R325 (T1), R62 + R325 (T5), and R317 + R325 (T8). Fifteen days after inoculation, all three combinations showed a stimulatory effect on seedling growth compared to the un-inoculated control. Inoculation with T1, T5 and T8 increased the seedling vigor index by 173.7%, 204.1%, and 168.7%, respectively. Compared to the un-inoculated control, the T1 combination increased the activities of polyphenol oxidase, peroxidase, and the net photosynthetic rate by 132.7%, 18.7%, 58.5%, and upregulated the relative expression levels of the photosynthetic assimilation-related genes RbcL, RbcS, FBPase and FDA by 22.2-, 6.6-, 1.95-, and 2.0-fold, respectively. Our findings provide a potential for constructing rhizobacterial combinations of different functional groups for improving crop growth
Purification, characterization and antioxidant activities in vitro of polysaccharides from Amaranthus hybridus L.
Background Amaranthus hybridus L. is an annual, erect or less commonly ascending herb that is a member of the Amaranthaceae family. Polysaccharides extracted from traditional Chinese medicines may be effective substances with antioxidant activity. Methods In this study, we isolated crude polysaccharides from A. hybridus (AHP-M) using microwave-assisted extraction. Then, the AHP-M was purified by chromatography with DEAE-32 cellulose, and two fractions, AHP-M-1 and AHP-M-2, were obtained. The structural characteristics of AHP-M-1 and AHP-M-2 were investigated, and their antioxidant activities were analyzed in vitro. Results We found that the monosaccharide composition of AHP-M-1 was different from that of AHP-M-2. The molecular weights of AHP-M-1 and AHP-M-2 were 77.625 kDa and 93.325 kDa, respectively. The results showed that the antioxidant activity of AHP-M-2 was better than that of AHP-M-1. For AHP-M-2, the DPPH radical scavenging rate at a concentration of 2 mg/mL was 78.87%, the hydroxyl radical scavenging rate was 39.34%, the superoxide anion radical scavenging rate was 80.2%, and the reduction ability of Fe3+ was approximately 0.90. The total antioxidant capacity per milligram of AHP-M-2 was 6.42, which was higher than that of Vitamin C (Vc). Conclusion The in vitro test indicated that AHP-M-1 and AHP-M-2 have good antioxidant activity, demonstrating that A. hybridus L. polysaccharide has immense potential as a natural antioxidants
Database Resources of the National Genomics Data Center, China National Center for Bioinformation in 2022
The National Genomics Data Center (NGDC), part of the China National Center for Bioinformation (CNCB), provides a family of database resources to support global research in both academia and industry. With the explosively accumulated multi-omics data at ever-faster rates, CNCB-NGDC is constantly scaling up and updating its core database resources through big data archive, curation, integration and analysis. In the past year, efforts have been made to synthesize the growing data and knowledge, particularly in single-cell omics and precision medicine research, and a series of resources have been newly developed, updated and enhanced. Moreover, CNCB-NGDC has continued to daily update SARS-CoV-2 genome sequences, variants, haplotypes and literature. Particularly, OpenLB, an open library of bioscience, has been established by providing easy and open access to a substantial number of abstract texts from PubMed, bioRxiv and medRxiv. In addition, Database Commons is significantly updated by cataloguing a full list of global databases, and BLAST tools are newly deployed to provide online sequence search services
