Constraints on anomalous quartic gauge couplings via WγjjW\gamma jj production at the LHC

The vector boson scattering at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is sensitive to anomalous quartic gauge couplings (aQGCs). In this paper, we investigate the aQGC contribution to Wγjj W \gamma jj production at the LHC with s=13\sqrt{s}=13 TeV in the context of an effective field theory (EFT). The unitarity bound is applied as a cut on the energy scale of this production process, which is found to have significant suppressive effects on the signals. To enhance the statistical significance, we analyse the kinematic and polarization features of the aQGC signals in detail. We find that the polarization effects induced by the aQGCs are unique and can discriminate the signals from the SM backgrounds well. With the proposed event selection strategy, we obtain the constraints on the coefficients of dimension-8 operators with current luminosity. The results indicate that the process ppWγjjpp \to W \gamma jj is powerful for searching for the OM2,3,4,5O_{M_{2,3,4,5}} and OT5,6,7O_{T_{5,6,7}} operators.Comment: 29 pages, 11 figures, 7 tables, to be published in Chinese Physics

Bottom partner B' and Zb production at the LHC

Some new physics models, such as "beautiful mirrors" scenario, predict the existence of the bottom partner BB'. Considering the constraints from the data for the ZbbˉZ\rightarrow b\bar{b} branching ratio RbR_{b} and the FBFB asymmetry AFBbA_{FB}^{b} on the relevant free parameters, we calculate the contributions of BB' to the cross section σ(Zb)\sigma(Zb) and the ZZ polarization asymmetry AZA_{Z} for ZbZb production at the LHCLHC. We find that the bottom partner BB' can generate significant corrections to σ(Zb)\sigma(Zb) and AZA_{Z}, which might be detected in near future.Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures. Constraints on anomalous quartic gauge couplings by γγW+W\gamma\gamma \to W^+W^- scattering

The vector boson scattering (VBS) processes in Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments offer a unique opportunity to probe the anomalous quartic gauge couplings (aQGCs). We study the dimension-8 operators contributing to the anomalous γγWW\gamma\gamma WW coupling and the corresponding unitarity bounds via the exclusive γγW+W\gamma\gamma \to W^+W^- production in pppp collisions at LHC for a center of mass energy of s=13\sqrt{s}=13 TeV. By analysing the kinematical features of the signal, we propose an event selection strategy to highlight the aQGC contributions. Based on the event selection strategy, the statistical significance of the signals are analyzed in detail, and the constraints on the coefficients of the anomalous quartic gauge operators are obtained.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures, 5 table
