Morphology, structure, optical, and electrical properties of AgSbO₃
The morphology of defect pyrochlore-type, AgSbO₃ microparticle/nanoparticles obtained via solid state reaction evolve from irregular to Fullerene-like polyhedra before finally decomposing into metal-organic framework-5 like particles with increase in sintering temperature. The defect pyrochlore-type AgSbO₃ particles are slightly Ag deficient while the valence of the antimony ion is shown to be +5 giving rise to a probable stoichiometry of Ag₁ˍₓ SbVO₃ˍₓ/₂, with x∼0.01–0.04. A highly structured diffuse intensity distribution observed via electron diffraction is interpreted in terms of correlated displacements of one-dimensional (1D) silver ion chains along ⟨110⟩ directions. A redshifting in the absorption edges in UV-visible absorption spectra is observed for samples prepared at sintering temperatures higher than 1000 °C and attributed to the surface plasma resonance effect associated with small amounts of excess metallic Ag on the Ag₁ˍₓ SbVO₃ˍₓ/₂ particles. An electrical properties investigation of the silver antimonate samples via dielectric, conductivity, and electric modulus spectroscopy shows a prominent dielectric relaxation associated with grain boundaries. The silver ion conductivity is associated with correlated displacements of 1D silver ion chains along ⟨110⟩ directions.Z.G.Y., Y.L., and R.L.W. acknowledge financial support

On the Nature of X(4260)
We study the property of resonance by re-analyzing all experimental
data available, especially the cross section data. The final state
interactions of the , couple channel system are also taken
into account. A sizable coupling between the and is
found. The inclusion of the data indicates a small value of
eV.Comment: Refined analysis with new experimental data included. 13 page
Exotic Topological States with Raman-Induced Spin-Orbit Coupling
We propose a simple experimental scheme to realize simultaneously the
one-dimensional spin-orbit coupling and the staggered spin-flip in ultracold
pseudospin- atomic Fermi gases trapped in square optical lattices. In the
absence of interspecies interactions, the system supports gapped Chern
insulators and gapless topological semimetal states. By turning on the -wave
interactions, a rich variety of gapped and gapless inhomogeneous topological
superfluids can emerge. In particular, a gapped topological Fulde-Ferrell
superfluid, in which the chiral edge states at opposite boundaries possess the
same chirality, is predicted.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure
Anomalous Aharonov-Bohm conductance oscillations from topological insulator surface states
We study transport properties of a topological insulator nanowire when a
magnetic field is applied along its length. We predict that with strong surface
disorder, a characteristic signature of the band topology is revealed in
Aharonov Bohm (AB) oscillations of the conductance. These oscillations have a
component with anomalous period , and with conductance maxima at
odd multiples of , i.e. when the AB phase for surface electrons
is . This is intimately connected to the band topology and a surface
curvature induced Berry phase, special to topological insulator surfaces. We
discuss similarities and differences from recent experiments on BiSe
nanoribbons, and optimal conditions for observing this effect.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figure
