In the title complex, [Cd(NCS)2(C22H20N6)], the CdII ion is in a CdN6 coordination geometry which is intermediate between octahedral and trigonal–prismatic. The dihedral angles formed between the mean planes of the pyrazole rings and the phenanthroline system are 15.74 (15) and 16.30 (13)°. In the crystal, there is a π–π stacking interaction involving two symmetry-related pyrazole rings, with a centroid–centroid distance of 3.664 (3) Å. In addition, there is a relatively short intermolecular contact between C atoms [C⋯C = 3.399 (6) Å] involving symmetry-related pyridine rings along the a axis

Zc(3900)Z_c(3900) as a DDˉD\bar{D}^* molecule from the pole counting rule

A comprehensive study on the nature of the Zc(3900)Z_c(3900) resonant structure is carried out in this work. By constructing the pertinent effective Lagrangians and considering the important final-state-interaction effects, we first give a unified description to all the relevant experimental data available, including the J/ψπJ/\psi\pi and ππ\pi\pi invariant mass distributions from the e+eJ/ψππe^+e^-\to J/\psi\pi\pi process, the hcπh_c\pi distribution from e+ehcππe^+e^-\to h_c\pi\pi and also the DDˉD\bar D^{*} spectrum in the e+eDDˉπe^+e^-\to D\bar D^{*}\pi process. After fitting the unknown parameters to the previous data, we search the pole in the complex energy plane and find only one pole in the nearby energy region in different Riemann sheets. Therefore we conclude that Zc(3900)Z_c(3900) is of DDˉD\bar D^* molecular nature, according to the pole counting rule method~[Nucl.~Phys.~A543, 632 (1992); Phys.~Rev.~D 35,~1633 (1987)]. We emphasize that the conclusion based upon the pole counting method is not trivial, since both the DDˉD\bar D^{*} contact interactions and the explicit ZcZ_c exchanges are introduced in our analyses and they lead to the same conclusion.Comment: 21 pages, 9 figures. A diagnostic challenge for schistosomiasis japonica in China: consequences on praziquantel-based morbidity control

    Get PDF
Worldwide schistosomiasis continues to be a serious public health problem. Over the past five decades, China has made remarkable progress in reducing Schistosoma japonicum infections in humans to a relatively low level. Endemic regions are currently circumscribed in certain core areas where re-infection and repeated chemotherapy are frequent. At present, selective chemotherapy with praziquantel is one of the main strategies in China's National Schistosomiasis Control Program, and thus diagnosis of infected individuals is a key step for such control. In this paper we review the current status of our knowledge about diagnostic tools for schistosomiasis japonica. A simple, affordable, sensitive, and specific assay for field diagnosis of schistosomiasis japonica is not yet available, and this poses great barriers towards full control of schistosomiasis. Hence, a search for a diagnostic approach, which delivers these characteristics, is essential and should be given high priority

Tensorformer: Normalized Matrix Attention Transformer for High-quality Point Cloud Reconstruction

Surface reconstruction from raw point clouds has been studied for decades in the computer graphics community, which is highly demanded by modeling and rendering applications nowadays. Classic solutions, such as Poisson surface reconstruction, require point normals as extra input to perform reasonable results. Modern transformer-based methods can work without normals, while the results are less fine-grained due to limited encoding performance in local fusion from discrete points. We introduce a novel normalized matrix attention transformer (Tensorformer) to perform high-quality reconstruction. The proposed matrix attention allows for simultaneous point-wise and channel-wise message passing, while the previous vector attention loses neighbor point information across different channels. It brings more degree of freedom in feature learning and thus facilitates better modeling of local geometries. Our method achieves state-of-the-art on two commonly used datasets, ShapeNetCore and ABC, and attains 4% improvements on IOU on ShapeNet. Our implementation will be released upon acceptance

Study on Axial Compressive Capacity of FRP-Confined Concrete-Filled Steel Tubes and Its Comparisons with Other Composite Structural Systems

Concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns have been widely used for constructions in recent decades because of their high axial strength. In CFSTs, however, steel tubes are susceptible to degradation due to corrosion, which results in the decrease of axial strength of CFSTs. To further improve the axial strength of CFST columns, carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets and basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) sheets are applied to warp the CFSTs. This paper presents an experimental study on the axial compressive capacity of CFRP-confined CFSTs and BFRP-confined CFSTs, which verified the analytical model with considering the effect of concrete self-stressing. CFSTs wrapped with FRP exhibited a higher ductile behavior. Wrapping with CFRP and BFRP improves the axial compressive capacity of CFSTs by 61.4% and 17.7%, respectively. Compared with the previous composite structural systems of concrete-filled FRP tubes (CFFTs) and double-skin tubular columns (DSTCs), FRP-confined CFSTs were convenient in reinforcing existing structures because of softness of the FRP sheets. Moreover, axial compressive capacity of CFSTs wrapped with CFRP sheets was higher than CFFTs and DSTCs, while the compressive strength of DSTCs was higher than the retrofitted CFSTs
