Effective video storytelling using mobile devices: Training leaders in a cross-cultural context

The authors developed and presented a workshop session at an international conference with attendees from all over the world. Led by Dr. Heather McLaughlin (Professor of Communication), the workshop sought to train leaders in concepts for telling good stories and provide technological tools for production. The students, all Multimedia Communication majors, were also commissioned to gather footage and interviews during the event. This opportunity allowed the students to use their videography/editing, interviewing and production skills in a real-world, cross-cultural situation.
