Rabi flopping between ground and Rydberg states with dipole-dipole atomic interactions
We demonstrate Rabi flopping of small numbers of atoms between
ground and Rydberg states with . Coherent population oscillations are
observed for single atom flopping, while the presence of two or more atoms
decoheres the oscillations. We show that these observations are consistent with

Fast Ground State Manipulation of Neutral Atoms in Microscopic Optical Traps
We demonstrate Rabi flopping at MHz rates between ground hyperfine states of
neutral Rb atoms that are trapped in two micron sized optical traps.
Using tightly focused laser beams we demonstrate high fidelity, site specific
Rabi rotations with crosstalk on neighboring sites separated by at
the level of . Ramsey spectroscopy is used to measure a dephasing time
of which is 5000 times longer than the time for a

Nanoscale addressing and manipulation of neutral atoms using electromagnetically induced transparency
We propose to integrate dark-state based localization techniques into a
neutral atom quantum computing architecture and numerically investigate two
specific schemes. The first scheme implements state-selective projective
measurement by scattering photons from a specific qubit with very little cross
talk on the other atoms in the ensemble. The second scheme performs a
single-qubit phase gate on the target atom with an incoherent spontaneous
emission probability as low as 0.01. Our numerical simulations in rubidium (Rb)
atoms show that for both of these schemes a spatial resolution at the level of
tens of nanometers using near-infrared light can be achieved with
experimentally realistic parameters

Coherent Quantum Optical Control with Subwavelength Resolution
We suggest a new method for quantum optical control with nanoscale
resolution. Our method allows for coherent far-field manipulation of individual
quantum systems with spatial selectivity that is not limited by the wavelength
of radiation and can, in principle, approach a few nanometers. The selectivity
is enabled by the nonlinear atomic response, under the conditions of
Electromagnetically Induced Transparency, to a control beam with intensity
vanishing at a certain location. Practical performance of this technique and
its potential applications to quantum information science with cold atoms,

Classification of Spherically Symmetric Static Spacetimes according to their Matter Collineations
The spherically symmetric static spacetimes are classified according to their
matter collineations. These are studied when the energy-momentum tensor is
degenerate and also when it is non-degenerate. We have found a case where the
energy-momentum tensor is degenerate but the group of matter collineations is
finite. For the non-degenerate case, we obtain either {\it four}, {\it five},
{\it six} or {\it ten} independent matter collineations in which four are
isometries and the rest are proper. We conclude that the matter collineations
coincide with the Ricci collineations but the constraint equations are
different which on solving can provide physically interesting cosmological

Effects of Piperonyl Butoxide and Tetramethrin Combinations on Biological Activities of Selected Synthetic Pyrethroid Insecticides against Different Housefly (Musca domestica L., Diptera: Muscidae) Populations
Piperonyl butoxide (PBO), a methylenedioxyphenyl compound, is primarily used as a synergist in combination with space spray, residual and admixture products for the control of insect pests in or around domestic and commercial premises, especially food preparation areas. Also, tetramethrin is known as a knockdown agent on target organism and it is generally used with piperonyl butoxide. In this study, effects of piperonyl butoxide and tetramethrin combinations on biological activities of synthetic pyrethroids, cypermethrin, deltamethrin, and permethrin against different housefly (Musca domestica Linnaeus, 1758) populations were evaluated. In addition, the biological efficiency of the insecticides used in the study, insecticide + PBO and insecticide + PBO + tetramethrin combinations, against the WHO standard sensitive housefly population and housefly populations collected from different parts of Turkey were compared. Results showed that PBO extensively promoted the ratio of knockdown and killing effect values of the insecticides. The results also indicated that PBO and PBO + tetramethrin combinations moderately reduced the knockdown effect times of all formulation in all housefly populations. The knockdown effect times were more decreased by insecticide + PBO + tetramethrin combinations than insecticides that are used alone and insecticide + PBO combinations
Oral manifestation of Goltz-Gorlin syndrome in a young girl
Introduction
Focal dermal hypoplasia (Goltz-Gorlin syndrome) is a multi-system disorder characterized by involvement of skin, skeletal system, eyes and face. It is caused by loss-of-function mutations in the PORCN gene. We report the case of a young female, focusing on the dental features.
Aim
To describe the oral manifestation of a rare disorder that resembles ectodermal dysplasia (ED).
Case report
Clinical, radiological and genetic findings revealed common features of Goltz-Gorlin syndrome and pure ED. Oro-dental characteristics of the patient mostly corresponded to those described in the literature. However, previously unreported oro-dental findings such as taurodontism, peg-shaped teeth and microdontia are considered unusual for Goltz-Gorlin syndrome, but similar to the dental features of hypohidrotic ED. Clinical characterization of the patient by a multidisciplinary approach is described and a comprehensive review of the literature is presented
