Obtaining surface with high purity and good roughness is important for increasing the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of products working in corrosion-active environment. Installation ILUR-03 with the coaxial ion beam wide energy spectrum source for cleaning, polishing and surface doping of long cylindrical items has been developed. Upgraded installation ILUR-03 provides effective technological defects cleaning (abrasives after mechanical polishing, acid residues after chemical etching, adsorbed gases), surface polishing, film deposition by using magnetrons and surface doping by ion mixing method in one technological cycle

Results of the development of protective chromium-containing coatings based on the FeCrNi and CrNi systems for fuel claddings within framework of the accident tolerant fuel (ATF) are presented in this paper. Coatings were deposited by the outer surface of cladding tubes fragments from E110 o.ch. alloy (sponge-based Zr-1%Nb) up to 500 mm length by complex ion-plasma treatment on ILUR-03 and KVK-10 installations. The results of the control tests carried out in high-temperature steam at the GAZPAR bench at 1200 °C up to 400 s showed that Cr-FeCrNi-Cr and Cr-CrNi-Cr coatings reduce total oxygen penetration into the alloy from 144 to 98 and 55 ?m, respectively and Cr-CrNi-Cr coatings with a Mo barrier layer completely block the diffusion of oxygen into the material

Project “Universat-SOCRAT” of Multiple Small Satellites for Monitoring of Natural and Technogenic Space Hazards

The new space project of M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University on elaboration of multiple satellites for real time monitoring in the near-Earth space of radiation environment, natural (asteroids, meteoroids) and artificial (space debris) potentially dangerous objects, electromagnetic transients, such as cosmic gamma ray bursts, terrestrial gamma ray flashes, optical and ultraviolet bursts in the Earth atmosphere is presented. It is intended to install on the satellites the following instruments for space monitoring of dangerous objects and hazards: spectrometers of electrons and protons, complex of instruments for study of transient electromagnetic phenomena including gamma ray spectrometer, detectors of ultraviolet and optical emission and wide-field optical cameras. Successful implementation of the project for the first time in the world allows realization of a space system prototype for monitoring and preventing of space hazards for both ongoing and planned space missions, and also for aircraft flying in the upper atmosphere. There are also discussed results of experiments on-board Lomonosov in view of good experience of wide field camera use for monitor observations in space. These results formed the base of scientific program for the new project Universat- SOCRAT
