Observation of the effect of conjunctivochalasis surgery
AIM: To discuss the effects of crescent-shaped resection of redundant conjunctiva and conjunctival fixation to the sclera to treat conjunctivochalasis. <p>METHODS: Totally 27 cases(48 eyes)suffering from conjunctivochalasis were treated by using two techniques: crescent-shaped resection of redundant conjunctiva, conjunctival fixation to the sclera. Evaluation of symptom, observation of conjunctivochalasis using slit lamp microscope, tear meniscus, tear break-up time(BUT)were measured after surgery. <p>RESULTS: Follow-up visits were made 1 week after surgery. Improvement was indicated in 92% crescent-shaped resection, in 88% in conjunctival fixation to the sclera. One month after surgery, improvement was indicated in 92% crescent-shaped resection, in 83% in conjunctival fixation to the sclera.<p>CONCLUSION: The two surgical techniques are effective in treating conjunctivochalasis
Accurate position tracking with a single UWB anchor
Accurate localization and tracking are a fundamental requirement for robotic
applications. Localization systems like GPS, optical tracking, simultaneous
localization and mapping (SLAM) are used for daily life activities, research,
and commercial applications. Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology provides another
venue to accurately locate devices both indoors and outdoors. In this paper, we
study a localization solution with a single UWB anchor, instead of the
traditional multi-anchor setup. Besides the challenge of a single UWB ranging
source, the only other sensor we require is a low-cost 9 DoF inertial
measurement unit (IMU). Under such a configuration, we propose continuous
monitoring of UWB range changes to estimate the robot speed when moving on a
line. Combining speed estimation with orientation estimation from the IMU
sensor, the system becomes temporally observable. We use an Extended Kalman
Filter (EKF) to estimate the pose of a robot. With our solution, we can
effectively correct the accumulated error and maintain accurate tracking of a

Hierarchical Structure with Highly Ordered Macroporous-Mesoporous Metal-Organic Frameworks as Dual Function for CO2 Fixation.
As a major greenhouse gas, the continuous increase of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere has caused serious environmental problems, although CO2 is also an abundant, inexpensive, and nontoxic carbon source. Here, we use metal-organic framework (MOF) with highly ordered hierarchical structure as adsorbent and catalyst for chemical fixation of CO2 at atmospheric pressure, and the CO2 can be converted to the formate in excellent yields. Meanwhile, we have successfully integrated highly ordered macroporous and mesoporous structures into MOFs, and the macro-, meso-, and microporous structures have all been presented in one framework. Based on the unique hierarchical pores, high surface area (592 m2/g), and high CO2 adsorption capacity (49.51Â cm3/g), the ordered macroporous-mesoporous MOFs possess high activity for chemical fixation of CO2 (yield of 77%). These results provide a promising route of chemical CO2 fixation through MOF materials
Carboprost tromethamine prevents caesarean sectionassociated postpartum hemorrhage
Purpose: To investigate the effect of carboprost tromethamine on post-partum hemorrhage associated with caesarean section.Methods: One hundred patients with postpartum hemorrhage induced by cesarean section who were admitted to Binzhou People’s Hospital from October 2016 to August 2018 were selected. They were randomly assigned to two groups: control group and treatment group. Patients in the control group were administered oxytocin, while those in the treatment group received oxytocin in combination with carboprost tromethamine. The incidence of hemorrhage and adverse reactions were compared for the two groups.Results: The two groups showed gradually increasing degrees of postpartum hemorrhage within 24 h, but the treatment group had significantly lower volume of postpartum hemorrhage than the control group at different time points (p < 0.05). At the 1st, 3rd and 5th days after delivery, the height of the uterine fundus decreased gradually in the two groups, but was smaller in the treatment group than in the oxytocin group at all time points (p < 0.05). Total response in the treatment group was 98 %, which was significantly higher than 78 % in the control group (p < 0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group (12 %) was significantly lower than that in the control group (24 %, p < 0.05).Conclusion: Carboprost tromethamine prevents postpartum hemorrhage after cesarean section. It effectively reduces bleeding and promotes uterine involution, without obvious adverse reactions.
