The Structure of Genitive Constructions and Their Derivation

    Get PDF
The present study is mainly concerned with the internal structure of syntactic derivation of genitive constructions. It is argued that structurally the two basic forms of genitive constructions are [DP GenP [D` D XP]] and [DP XP [D` D GenP]] (XP=NumP or NP), with prenominal genitive constructions occupying the [Spec DP] position and post-nominal genitive constructions in [Comp D`]. Between the genitive constructions and the functional head D, there is a feature checking relation, aiming to check some uninterpretable agreement features of the functional head. This relation is realized by different means in different languages. In languages such as English, German, Italian, Norwegian, Icelandic and Hebrew, it is realized via the overt movement of the genitive construction to the specifier position of the functional head, while in Chinese genitive construction, it is realized simply by feature matching. Thus, the syntactic derivation of the English genitive constructions is only one step further than that of Chinese genitive constructions. Based on this argument, the author proposes an analysis for the derivation of natural language genitive constructions, and uses it to account for the derivation of genitive constructions in relevant languages prior to the movement of the head nouns

The Argument Structure of the Middle Construction and Its Derivation

Middle constructions are a well-studied topic in linguistics. Based on a summary of the features of middle verbs, this paper proposes that middle constructions are composed of two verbs, of which the first verb, serving as the predicate, denotes an action characteristic of conventional property or features, while the second verb, serving as a complement clause, denotes result. The combination of the two verbs denotes a complete event. Based on this, it is argued that all middle constructions must be of this nature in terms of underlying structure. Once this assumption has been accepted, many long-standing puzzles related to middle constructions are solved quite readily

During theā€œ14th five-year planā€ period, financial services were actively integrated into the new business forms of e-commerce development, in which financial investment vigorously promoted the efficient allocation of capital elements, so as to construct a service system suitable for the development of e-commerce, it is not only an important opportunity to meet the needs of the digital economy and expand its own development space, but also provides strong support for the high-quality development of e-commerce. Momentum strategy is a classical Behavioral finance investment strategy. Securities liquidity is the key factor affecting the return of momentum strategy. Based on this, this paper studies the impact of securities liquidity on momentum investment strategy returns by using empirical analysis. we find that the impact of securities liquidity on portfolio returns is different with the change of investors\u27 holding period, and the momentum winner portfolio and loser portfolio returns are asymmetric under the influence of liquidity. The results of this study not only provide alternative paths for the practitioners to choose more effective momentum investment strategies, but also facilitate the deep integration of e-commerce and financial services from the perspective of investment

Computational Identification of Novel MicroRNAs and Their Targets in Vigna unguiculata

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of endogenous, noncoding, short RNAs directly involved in regulating gene expression at the posttranscriptional level. High conservation of miRNAs in plant provides the foundation for identification of new miRNAs in other plant species through homology alignment. Here, previous known plant miRNAs were BLASTed against the Expressed Sequence Tag (EST) and Genomic Survey Sequence (GSS) databases of Vigna unguiculata, and according to a series of filtering criteria, a total of 47 miRNAs belonging to 13 miRNA families were identified, and 30 potential target genes of them were subsequently predicted, most of which seemed to encode transcription factors or enzymes participating in regulation of development, growth, metabolism, and other physiological processes. Overall, our findings lay the foundation for further researches of miRNAs function in Vigna unguiculata

Research on the Influencing Factors of Users\u27 Willingness to Pay for Knowledge in the Context of Virtual Brand Community

With the rapid development of the mobile Internet, the knowledge payment market has developed rapidly. Due to the short development time, community operators lack an in-depth understanding of user behavior. There are still many problems to solve, like knowledge convergence and poor service. Based on this background, this research combines the Technology Acceptance Model with the D&M information systems success model and incorporates the perceived value theory, Community identity theory, and so on, to construct a research model of user\u27s intention to participate in knowledge payment in the context of virtual brand community. The study found that user community experience factors can significantly affect personal perception, while users\u27 personal perception, such as perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness, can affect users\u27 recognition of the community and thus affect their willingness to pay. Finally, this study puts forward suggestions for the operation managers of the knowledgepaid community
