AvatarFusion: Zero-shot Generation of Clothing-Decoupled 3D Avatars Using 2D Diffusion
Large-scale pre-trained vision-language models allow for the zero-shot
text-based generation of 3D avatars. The previous state-of-the-art method
utilized CLIP to supervise neural implicit models that reconstructed a human
body mesh. However, this approach has two limitations. Firstly, the lack of
avatar-specific models can cause facial distortion and unrealistic clothing in
the generated avatars. Secondly, CLIP only provides optimization direction for
the overall appearance, resulting in less impressive results. To address these
limitations, we propose AvatarFusion, the first framework to use a latent
diffusion model to provide pixel-level guidance for generating human-realistic
avatars while simultaneously segmenting clothing from the avatar's body.
AvatarFusion includes the first clothing-decoupled neural implicit avatar model
that employs a novel Dual Volume Rendering strategy to render the decoupled
skin and clothing sub-models in one space. We also introduce a novel
optimization method, called Pixel-Semantics Difference-Sampling (PS-DS), which
semantically separates the generation of body and clothes, and generates a
variety of clothing styles. Moreover, we establish the first benchmark for
zero-shot text-to-avatar generation. Our experimental results demonstrate that
our framework outperforms previous approaches, with significant improvements
observed in all metrics. Additionally, since our model is clothing-decoupled,
we can exchange the clothes of avatars. Code will be available on Github
INFORMATION CONTENT OF FINANCIAL REPORTING AND INFORMATION VALUE OF FINANCIAL NEWS – AN OPINION ANALYTICS APPROACH
This study investigates the impact of the quality of disclosures of financial reports of the listed firms in Taiwan under her first full adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in 2013. We select the semi-annual reports of firms in the three main industry sectors of high technology, financial service, and biotechnology representing 80% of the capital market in the first year of mandatory adoption. The dictionary of financial reporting is developed according to opinion mining and sentiment analysis. In contrast to prior studies, we explore the gap analytics between financial reporting and financial news to explore whether the disclosure quality is related with the adoption of IFRS. Results are promising and show that the disclosures have relationship with the IFRS first adoption
Augmented Reality Meets Tangibility: A New Approach for Early Childhood Education
Augmented Reality (AR) has been recognised as one of the promising technologies for the gaming industry. In this study, the authors intend to apply AR technology to develop an interactive educational game. This paper presents an AR featured educational game specifically designed for 4-7 years old pre-school children. The principal objective of this game is to enable children to learn various abstract concepts, such as colour mixing, mathematics and 2D-3D geometrical shape recognition. This game allows users to interact with both onscreen (intangible) and physical objects (tangible) at the same time; different interaction forms including the touch screen (click) and AR game (rotate) are designed for better interaction with the real world and learning. This paper focuses on the details of the design and interactive behaviour. Furthermore, beyond the needs of children, this game also serves for parents through the Token Economy method; parents can control the kids’ contacting time with portable devices, and track and modify their everyday learning patterns. A pilot study implementing mix method was used to gather user’s feedback is also described in this paper
