    Quantum logical gates with four-level SQUIDs coupled to a superconducting resonator

    We propose a way for realizing a two-qubit controlled phase gate with superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) coupled to a superconducting resonator. In this proposal, the two lowest levels of each SQUID serve as the logical states and two intermediate levels of each SQUID are used for the gate realization. We show that neither adjustment of SQUID level spacings during the gate operation nor uniformity in SQUID parameters is required by this proposal. In addition, this proposal does not require the adiabatic passage or a second-order detuning and thus the gate is much faster.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure

    Transcriptional regulation of SlPYL, SlPP2C, and SlSnRK2 gene families encoding ABA signal core components during tomato fruit development and drought stress

    In order to characterize the potential transcriptional regulation of core components of abscisic acid (ABA) signal transduction in tomato fruit development and drought stress, eight SlPYL (ABA receptor), seven SlPP2C (type 2C protein phosphatase), and eight SlSnRK2 (subfamily 2 of SNF1-related kinases) full-length cDNA sequences were isolated from the tomato nucleotide database of NCBI GenBank. All SlPYL, SlPP2C, and SlSnRK2 genes obtained are homologous to Arabidopsis AtPYL, AtPP2C, and AtSnRK2 genes, respectively. Based on phylogenetic analysis, SlPYLs and SlSnRK2s were clustered into three subfamilies/subclasses, and all SlPP2Cs belonged to PP2C group A. Within the SlPYL gene family, SlPYL1, SlPYL2, SlPYL3, and SlPYL6 were the major genes involved in the regulation of fruit development. Among them, SlPYL1 and SlPYL2 were expressed at high levels throughout the process of fruit development and ripening; SlPYL3 was strongly expressed at the immature green (IM) and mature green (MG) stages, while SlPYL6 was expressed strongly at the IM and red ripe (RR) stages. Within the SlPP2C gene family, the expression of SlPP2C, SlPP2C3, and SlPP2C4 increased after the MG stage; SlPP2C1 and SlPP2C5 peaked at the B3 stage, while SlPP2C2 and SlPP2C6 changed little during fruit development. Within the SlSnRK2 gene family, the expression of SlSnRK2.2, SlSnRK2.3, SlSnRK2.4, and SlSnRK2C was higher than that of other members during fruit development.     <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>The worldwide experience of surgical resection for isolated metastasis following liver transplantation (LT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is limited.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>The case of a 60-year-old patient performed successful surgical management for metachronous pulmonary and adrenal metastases from HCC after LT.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Eighty months after LT, he was presently alive and disease-free with a normal AFP value.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>The case is an interesting report on a somehow indolent metastatic spread of HCC after LT. It should be considered that metachronous metastatic resectable disease, with no data of recurrence at the primary site in an operable patient, is an indication to perform a surgical resection.</p

    Identification of Hub Genes Associated With Progression and Prognosis in Patients With Bladder Cancer

    Given that most bladder cancers (BCs) are diagnosed in advanced stages with poor prognosis, this study aims to find novel biomarkers associated with the progression and prognosis in patients with BC. 1,779 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between BC samples and normal bladder tissues were identified in total. Then, 24 DEGs were regarded as candidate hub genes by constructing a protein–protein interaction (PPI) network and a random forest model. Among them, six genes (BUB1B, CCNB1, CDK1, ISG15, KIF15, and RAD54L) were eventually identified by using five analysis methods (one-way Analysis of Variance analysis, spearman correlation analysis, distance correlation analysis, receiver operating characteristic curve, and expression values comparison), which were correlated with the progression and prognosis of BC. Moreover, the validation of hub genes was conducted based on GSE13507, Oncomine, and CBioPortal. Results of univariate Cox regression analysis showed that the expression levels of all the hub genes were influence features of overall survival (OS) and cancer specific survival (CSS) based on GSE13507, and we further established a six-gene signature based on the expression levels of the six genes and their Cox regression coefficients. This signature showed good potential for clinical application suggested by survival analysis (OS: Hazard Ratio = 0.484, 95%CI: 0.298–0.786; P = 0.0034; CSS: Hazard Ratio = 0.244, 95%CI: 0.121–0.493, P &lt; 0.0001) and decision curve analysis. In conclusion, our study indicates that six hub genes have great predictive value for the prognosis and progression of BC and may contribute to the exploration of further basic and clinical research of BC

The manganese(II) ions are six-coordinate and are linked by two 2-carboxy­ethyl­phospho­nate ligands, forming a centrosymmetric dimer. The Mn ions adopts a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The dimers are further linked by O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking inter­actions [centroid–centroid distance 4.2754 (4) Å]
