    Semantic Segmentation on VSPW Dataset through Contrastive Loss and Multi-dataset Training Approach

    Video scene parsing incorporates temporal information, which can enhance the consistency and accuracy of predictions compared to image scene parsing. The added temporal dimension enables a more comprehensive understanding of the scene, leading to more reliable results. This paper presents the winning solution of the CVPR2023 workshop for video semantic segmentation, focusing on enhancing Spatial-Temporal correlations with contrastive loss. We also explore the influence of multi-dataset training by utilizing a label-mapping technique. And the final result is aggregating the output of the above two models. Our approach achieves 65.95% mIoU performance on the VSPW dataset, ranked 1st place on the VSPW challenge at CVPR 2023.Comment: 1st Place Solution for CVPR 2023 PVUW VSS Trac

    Electrochemical behavior of labetalol at an ionic liquid modified carbon paste electrode and its electrochemical determination

    Electrochemical behavior of labetalol (LBT) at carbon paste electrode (CPE) and an ionic liquid1-benzyl-3-methylimidazolehexafluorophosphate([BnMIM]PF6)modified carbon paste electrode([BnMIM]PF6/CPE)in Britton-Robinson buffer solution (pH 2.0) was investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetric (SWV). The experimental results showed that LBT at both the bare CPE and [BnMIM]PF6/CPEshowed an irreversible oxidation process, but at [BnMIM]PF6/CPE its oxidation peak current increased greatly and the oxidation peak potential shifted negatively. The electrode reaction process is a diffusion-controlled process involving one electron transferring accompanied by a participation of one proton at [BnMIM]PF6/CPE. At the same time, the electrochemical kinetic parameters were determined. Under the optimized electrochemical experimental conditions, the oxidation peak currents were proportional to LBT concentration in the range of 7.0 x 10-6-1.0 x 10-4 mol L-1 with the limit of detection(LOD, S/N=3) of 4.810 x 10-8 mol L-1and the limit of quantification(LOQ, S/N=10) of 1.60 x 10-7 mol L-1, respectively.     Electrochemical Behaviors and Electrochemical Determination of 1-naphthaleneacetic Acid at an Ionic Liquid Modified Carbon Paste Electrode

    Electrochemical behaviors of 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) at an ionic liquid N-butyl-pyridinium hexafluorophosphate (BPPF6/CPE) modified carbon paste electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and further used for NAA sample determination. The experimental results showed that NAA at both the bared and the modified electrode showed an irreversible oxidation process, but at the modified electrode it exhibited an enhanced electrochemical response towards its electrochemical oxi-dation. BPPF6/CPE was characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). At the same time, the electrochemical kinetic parameters were determined at both electrodes. The oxidation peak cur-rents increased linearly with NAA concentration range from 2.0 × 10–5 to 4.0 × 10–4 mol dm–3 with the detection limit (S/N = 3) of 1.690 × 10–7 mol dm–3 under the optimized experiment conditions.     Online sensor information and redundancy resolution based obstacle avoidance for high DOF mobile manipulator teleoperation

    High degrees of freedom (DOF) mobile manipulators provide more flexibility than conventional manipulators. They also provide manipulation operations with a mobility capacity and have potential in many applications. However, due to high redundancy, planning and control become more complicated and difficult, especially when obstacles occur. Most existing obstacle avoidance methods are based on off-line algorithms and most of them mainly focus on planning a new collision-free path, which is not appropriate for some applications, such as teleoperation and uses many system resources as well. Therefore, this paper presents an online planning and control method for obstacle avoidance in mobile manipulators using online sensor information and redundancy resolution. An obstacle contour reconstruction approach employing a mobile manipulator equipped with an active laser scanner system is also introduced in this paper. This method is implemented using a mobile manipulator with a seven-DOF manipulator and a four-wheel drive mobile base.     An association of a simultaneous nuclear and cytoplasmic localization of Fra-1 with breast malignancy

    BACKGROUND: Overexpression of Fra-1 in fibroblasts causes anchorage-independent cell growth and oncogenic transformation. A high level of Fra-1 expression is found in various tumors and tumorigenic cell lines, suggesting that Fra-1 may be involved in malignant progression. This study aimed to investigate the significance of Fra-1 expression in breast carcinogenesis. METHODS: The expression of Fra-1 was investigated by immunohistochemistry in neoplastic breast diseases ranging from benign fibroadenoma to very aggressive undifferentiated carcinoma. The correlations of Fra-1 expression with other indicators of breast carcinoma prognosis (ER, PR and ErbB2 receptors) were analyzed. RESULTS: All neoplastic breast tissues, either benign or malignant breast tissues, were nuclear immunoreactive for Fra-1-recognizing antibody. The pattern of Fra-1 expression by benign neoplastic cells was predominantly nuclear. However, the nuclear/cytoplasmic concomitant immunoreactivity was observed in all types of breast carcinomas. A clear shift in Fra-1 immunoreactivity, from an exclusively nuclear to a simultaneous nuclear and cytoplasmic localization was noticed in ~90% of breast carcinomas. CONCLUSION: The overall expression, pattern and intensity of Fra-1 proteins were correlated with breast oncogenesis. Overexpression of Fra-1, leading to a persistent high cytoplasmic accumulation, may play a role in the process of breast carcinogenesis

    Effects of nebulized ketamine on allergen-induced airway hyperresponsiveness and inflammation in actively sensitized Brown-Norway rats

    Since airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR) and allergic inflammatory changes are regarded as the primary manifestations of asthma, the main goals of asthma treatment are to decrease inflammation and maximize bronchodilation. These goals can be achieved with aerosol therapy. Intravenous administration of the anesthetic, ketamine, has been shown to trigger bronchial smooth muscle relaxation. Furthermore, increasing evidence suggests that the anti-inflammatory properties of ketamine may protect against lung injury. However, ketamine inhalation might yield the same or better results at higher airway and lower ketamine plasma concentrations for the treatment of asthma. Here, we studied the effect of ketamine inhalation on bronchial hyperresponsiveness and airway inflammation in a Brown-Norway rat model of ovalbumin(OVA)-induced allergic asthma. Animals were actively sensitized by subcutaneous injection of OVA and challenged by repeated intermittent (thrice weekly) exposure to aerosolized OVA for two weeks. Before challenge, the sensitizened rats received inhalation of aerosol of phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) or aerosol of ketamine or injection of ketamine respectivity. Airway reactivity to acetylcholine (Ach) was measured in vivo, and various inflammatory markers, including Th2 cytokines in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), as well as induciable nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and nitric oxide (NO) in lungs were examined. Our results revealed that delivery of aerosolized ketamine using an ultrasonic nebulizer markedly suppressed allergen-mediated airway hyperreactivity, airway inflammation and airway inflammatory cell infiltration into the BALF, and significantly decreased the levels of interleukin-4 (IL-4) in the BALF and expression of iNOS and the concentration of NO in the inflamed airways from OVA-treated rats. These findings collectively indicate that nebulized ketamine attenuated many of the central components of inflammatory changes and AHR in OVA-provoked experimental asthma, potentially providing a new therapeutic approach against asthma

    Critical role of c-Jun overexpression in liver metastasis of human breast cancer xenograft model

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>c-Jun/AP-1 has been linked to invasive properties of aggressive breast cancer. Recently, it has been reported that overexpression of c-Jun in breast cancer cell line MCF-7 resulted in increased AP-1 activity, motility and invasiveness of the cells <it>in vitro </it>and tumor formation in nude mice. However, the role of c-Jun in metastasis of human breast cancer <it>in vivo </it>is currently unknown.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>To further investigate the direct involvement of c-Jun in tumorigenesis and metastasis, in the present study, the effects of c-Jun overexpression were studied in both <it>in vitro </it>and in nude mice.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Ectopic overexpression of c-Jun promoted the growth of MCF-7 cells and resulted in a significant increase in the percentage of cells in S phase and increased motility and invasiveness. Introduction of c-Jun gene alone into weakly invasive MCF-7 cells resulted in the transfected cells capable of metastasizing to the nude mouse liver following tail vein injection.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>The present study confirms that overexpression of c-Jun contributes to a more invasive phenotype in MCF-7 cells. It indicates an interesting relationship between c-Jun expression and increased property of adhesion, migration and <it>in vivo </it>liver metastasis of MCF-7/c-Jun cells. The results provide further evidence that c-Jun is involved in the metastasis of breast cancer. The finding also opens an opportunity for development of anti-c-Jun strategies in breast cancer therapy.</p
