Efimov physics in bosonic atom-trimer scattering

Bosonic atom-trimer scattering is studied in the unitary limit using momentum-space equations for four-particle transition operators. The impact of the Efimov effect on the atom-trimer scattering observables is explored and a number of universal relations is established. Positions and widths of tetramer resonances are determined. Trimer relaxation rate constant is calculated.Comment: Added results for the trimer relaxation rate constan

Renormalization group study of the four-body problem

We perform a renormalization group analysis of the non-relativistic four-boson problem by means of a simple model with pointlike three- and four-body interactions. We investigate in particular the unitarity point where the scattering length is infinite and all energies are at the atom threshold. We find that the four-body problem behaves truly universally, independent of any four-body parameter. Our findings confirm the recent conjectures of Platter et al. and von Stecher et al. that the four-body problem is universal, now also from a renormalization group perspective. We calculate the corresponding relations between the four- and three-body bound states, as well as the full bound state spectrum and comment on the influence of effective range corrections.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures; v2: revised and published versio

Disney Princess films and their effects on Gender and Body image through the Social Learning theory

Many of us grew up watching Disney Films and throughout the last decade and prior, the Walt Disney Company has created a variety of characters whom we grew up alongside. As we watched these films we found ourselves within the characters and learned things through them. This thesis paper aims to analyze Disney Princess Films and their profound effects on Gender and Body image through the theoretical perspective of the Social Learning theory. I will analyze Classic Disney princesses such as Snow White and Cinderella, and modern princesses such as Mulan(1998) and Merida (2011). My critical analysis indicates that Disney characters, specifically princesses, have profound effects on our gender roles and body image and provides research from various studies. From the first Disney princess film Sleeping beauty to the most recent one being Moana, Disney princesses have become more progressive but still lack the qualities present-day viewers possess. Overall, The Walt Disney Company has a prominent role in influencing our gender roles and how we view our bodies and the Social Learning Theory helps us understand why we imitate and possess so many of those characteristics

Negative parity tetraquarks with the open charm

The relativistic four-quark equations are found in the framework of coupled-channel formalism. The dynamical mixing of the meson-meson states with the four-quark states is considered. The four-quark amplitudes of the negative parity tetraquarks including the quarks of three flavors (u, d, s) and the charmed quark are constructed. The poles of these amplitudes determine the masses of tetraquarks. The mass values of low-lying tetraquarks with the spin-parity JP=0-,1-,2-,3- are calculated.Comment: 18 pages, pd

Four-nucleon scattering: Ab initio calculations in momentum space

The four-body equations of Alt, Grassberger and Sandhas are solved for \nH scattering at energies below three-body breakup threshold using various realistic interactions including one derived from chiral perturbation theory. After partial wave decomposition the equations are three-variable integral equations that are solved numerically without any approximations beyond the usual discretization of continuum variables on a finite momentum mesh. Large number of two-, three- and four-nucleon partial waves are considered until the convergence of the observables is obtained. The total \nH cross section data in the resonance region is not described by the calculations which confirms previous findings by other groups. Nevertheless the numbers we get are slightly higher and closer to the data than previously found and depend on the choice of the two-nucleon potential. Correlations between the AyA_y deficiency in \nd elastic scattering and the total \nH cross section are studied.Comment: Corrected Eq. (10

Faddeev-type calculations of few-body nuclear reactions including Coulomb interaction

The method of screening and renormalization is used to include the Coulomb interaction between the charged particles in the description of few-body nuclear reactions. Calculations are done in the framework of Faddeev-type equations in momentum-space. The reliability of the method is demonstrated. The Coulomb effect on observables is discussed.Comment: Proceedings of the 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Few-Body Problems in Physics (APFB08), Depok, Indonesia, August 19 - 23, 2008, to be published in Mod. The studies were conducted to evaluate a comparative efficacy of broad – spectrum anthelminthics with an immunomodulatory effect used for animal dehelminthization on the basis of an epizootic situation in helminthiasis and protozoasis of wild artiodactyl animals of the northern forest subzone of Belarus. Helminthological and protozoological investigations were based on the methods generally accepted in parasitology. The data obtained show infestation of a wild boar with 14 species of helminths belonging to four classes (Trematoda, Cestoda, Nematoda, Acanthocephala); moose – with 13 helminth species from three classes (Trematoda, Cestoda, Nematoda) and one species of Eimeria from Sporozoa class; European roe deer – with 11 helminth species from three classes (Trematoda, Cestoda, Nematoda) and 1 species of Eimeria from Sporozoa class. In terms of species the helminths belonging to Nematoda class predominate in helminthocenosis. The most widespread helminthosis in wildespread helminthosis in wild boartis Metastrongylosis, in moose is Mecistociriosis, in European roe deer is Trichostrongylidosis. Four preparations for dehelminthization of wild animals under laboratory and field conditions were tested. They were «22% fenbendazole granulate», «20% tetramizole granulate», «Polyparacid», «Pentavet». It was established that Polyparacid and Pentavet having and immunostimulating effect are more effective than «22% fenbendazole granulate» and «20% tetramizole granulate» having an immunosuppressive

Relativistic five-quark equations and negative parity pentaquarks

The relativistic five-quark equations are found in the framework of the dispersion relation technique. The solutions of these equations using the method based on the extraction of the leading singularities of the amplitudes are obtained. The five-quark amplitudes for the low-lying pentaquarks including the u, d, s- quarks are calculated. The poles of these amplitudes determine the masses of the negative parity pentaquarks with I = 0, 1 and spin 3/2-, 5/2-. The mass of the lowest pentaquark with I = 0 and spin 3/2- is equal to 1514 MeV.Comment: 18 pages, pdf, published versio

LEGAL AND ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF MONETARY REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN SYSTEM OF CENTRAL BANKS

Monetary regulation is one of the most important components of government policy. The monetary regulation policy of the European Central Bank has undergone important transformations over the past ten years as a result of measures that were taken in response to the global financial crisis of 2008. Today the main problem of the ECB is not inflation, but stimulation of the post-crisis development of European countries. As a result, many new elements have been added to the ideology and practice of monetary regulation. Moreover, new challenges, such as a pandemic, are prompting the ECB to seek new means of influencing financial markets and, ultimately, the real sector of the economy. The paper presents the modern system of monetary regulation in the EU, characterizes its structure and legal status. The consequences of the application of unconventional measures of monetary regulation in the EU in the period after the 2008 crisis and during the COVID 19 crisis were determined. The effectiveness of the ECB’s actions in overcoming the crisis was analyzed. On the example of the decision of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany, the reasons were identified and the consequences of the conflict between the EU legislation and national legislation in the issue of the jurisdiction of monetary regulation were assessed
