ACCURACY OF THE SOFTWARE GENLOCK WITH DIGITAL CAMCORDERS
Recently, digital camcorders have gained popularity as a viable means of recording movements in video motion analysis, mainly due to the ease of use and reasonably high image resolution. Digital camcorders, however, suffer from a major drawback, lack of the hardware genlock capability. Camcorders thus operate independently from each other and introduce time offsets among themselves. These time offsets in turn violate the requirement of simultaneous observations from multiple cameras in the 3¡D analysis, producing erroneous real-life coordinates of the markers. This is especially true in fast motions, in which a small time offset can be translated into a large spatial error, and the time offsets must be corrected before the 3-D reconstruction. The genlock (synchronization) of the cameras can be potentially achieved by a software-based strategy, the software genlock. The purpose of this stUdy was to investigate the accuracy of the software genlock using digital camcorders
The Influence Of Job Insecurity On Career Commitment And Attitude In Multinational Corporations
As the perception of lifelong work shifts into lifelong career in the job insecurity market, the career development of employees through professional and competitive career management has become more important than being loyal to a lifelong work. Furthermore, in the case of multinational corporations, such as differentiation from the head office policy, cultural differences in labor relations, and the liquidity of business withdrawal, such a feature has a higher possibility of job insecurity than general companies. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to verify empirically how job insecurity influences career commitment and career attitude through individual, job and career characteristics as intermediation with the members of multinational corporations as objectives. For this purpose, a total of 366 questionnaire data that targeted 27 multinational corporations were collected and analyzed. The result shows that the job insecurity of multinational corporations affects individual characteristic rather than job or career characteristic, and it is confirmed that individual characteristic has an effect on career commitment and career attitude. In the end, multinational corporations, unlike ordinary domestic companies, need active organizational career development program that corresponds to an open corporate culture as well as innovative and open systems and policies that balance both internal and external networking activities in terms of human resource management of corporations

Massive transfusion protocol: the reason it is necessary
Objective. The purpose of this study is to identify problems of emergency transfusion at the bedside and to determine need for massive transfusion protocol.
Methods. We included patients who met the criteria for âtrauma team activationâ and were admitted to division of trauma. The amount of blood product transfused in each unit was investigated for balanced transfusion. We also investigated the compliance with assessment of blood consumption score. The correlation between the time elapsed from patient visit to first transfusion order and time elapsed from first transfusion order to transfusion start was analyzed. Finally, we investigated various factors which serve to influence the decision-making process regarding early transfusion order.
Results. Ratio of packed Red blood cells (pRBC): Fresh frozen plasma (FFP) was well-balanced, but platelet transfusion done was much lower than pRBC and FFP in emergency room. The application of emergency blood release did not match the criteria of assessment of blood consumption (ABC) score. The time from the first transfusion order to the transfusion start was found to be constant irrespective of time from patient visit to first transfusion order. And, the time from the first transfusion order to transfusion start did not differ significantly among patients with early transfusion order and delayed transfusion order. Only systolic blood pressure of < 90 mmHg was identified as a major predictor for early transfusion order.
Conclusion. Balanced transfusion is not easy and emergency transfusion could be delayed at the bedside. Integrated and systematic structures for massive transfusion protocol would be invaluable and indispensable
Socioeconomic Costs of Overactive Bladder and Stress Urinary Incontinence in Korea
Purpose We quantified and described the economic burden of overactive bladder and stress urinary incontinence in Korea. We calculated direct costs by identifying public and private data sources that contain population-based data on resource utilization by patients with stress urinary incontinence and overactive bladder. Methods For estimating indirect costs (productivity loss), the human capital approach was applied. Data were collected from several institutes, including the Health Insurance Review Agency. Results The estimated total economic cost in treating overactive bladder was 117 billion Korean Won (KRW, the currency of South Koea) in 2006 and 145 billion KRW in 2007. The estimated total cost in treating stress urinary incontinence was 122 billion KRW in 2006 and 59 billion KRW in 2007. Conclusions By quantifying the total economic costs of overactive bladder and stress urinary incontinence, this study provides an important perspective in Korea. Because the average age of the Korean population is rapidly increasing, this study provides important information on the direct and indirect costs of overactive bladder and stress urinary incontinence for an aging society
Prediction model for mechanical properties of lightweight aggregate concrete using artificial neural network
The mechanical properties of lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC) depend on the mixing ratio of its binders, normal weight aggregate (NWA), and lightweight aggregate (LWA). To characterize the relation between various concrete components and the mechanical characteristics of LWAC, extensive studies have been conducted, proposing empirical equations using regression models based on their experimental results. However, these results obtained from laboratory experiments do not provide consistent prediction accuracy due to the complicated relation between materials and mix proportions, and a general prediction model is needed, considering several mix proportions and concrete constituents. This study adopts the artificial neural network (ANN) for modeling the complex and nonlinear relation between constituents and the resulting compressive strength and elastic modulus of LWAC. To construct a database for the ANN model, a vast amount of detailed and extensive data was collected from the literature including various mix proportions, material properties, and mechanical characteristics of concrete. The optimal ANN architecture is determined to enhance prediction accuracy in terms of the numbers of hidden layers and neurons. Using this database and the optimal ANN model, the performance of the ANN-based prediction model is evaluated in terms of the compressive strength and elastic modulus of LWAC. Furthermore, these prediction accuracies are compared to the results of previous ANN-based analyses, as well as those obtained from the commonly used linear and nonlinear regression models
