Photoproduction of K Sigma(1385) from the nucleon
The reactions of photoproduction, i.e., and , are investigated in the
resonance energy region for studying the role of the nucleon and
resonances of masses around 2 GeV. The Lagrangians for describing the decays of
these resonances into the channel are constructed and the
decay amplitudes are obtained, which allows us to determine the coupling
constants using the predictions of quark models or the data listed by the
Particle Data Group. The resulting cross sections are compared to the data from
the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility and the SPring-8, which
indicates nontrivial contributions from the two-star-rated resonances in the
Particle Data Group as well as from some missing resonances predicted by a
quark model.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, talk given at 12th International Conference on

Scalar kappa meson in K* photoproduction
We propose that the scalar meson may play an important role in
photoproduction. In the reactions of and
, we consider the production mechanisms including
-channel , , exchanges, s-channel , diagrams,
and -channel , , diagrams within the tree level
approximation, and find that the -meson exchange may contribute
significantly to photoproduction, while it is rather supplementary
in photoproduction. We demonstrate how the observables of
photoproduction can be used to constrain the meson properties. In
particular, the parity asymmetry can separate the meson contribution
in photoproduction.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figures, REVTe
Flavor structure of pentaquark baryons in quark model
The flavor SU(3) group structure of pentaquark baryons which form ,
, , , , and multiplets is
investigated in quark model. The flavor wave functions of all the pentaquark
baryons are constructed in SU(3) quark model and their Yukawa interactions with
meson octet are obtained in general and in the special case of the
octet-antidecuplet ideal mixing with the OZI rule. The mass sum rules of
pentaquark baryons are also discussed.Comment: 8 pages, talk presented at International Workshop PENTAQUARK04 at

Elliptic flow of deuterons in relativistic heavy-ion collisions
Using a dynamical model based on the , , and reactions and measured proton and pion transverse momentum spectra
and elliptic flows, we study the production of deuterons and their elliptic
flow in heavy ion collisions at RHIC. The results are compared with those from
the coalescence model. The deviation of deuteron elliptic flow from the
constituent nucleon number scaling expected from the coalescence model and the
comparison with the experimental data are discussed in connection to the
allowed nucleon phase space in these reactions.Comment: 18 pages, REVTeX, 8 figures, structure of the article was changed, to

Electric quadrupole moments of the decuplet baryons in the Skyrme model
The electric quadrupole moments of the decuplet baryons are calculated in the
bound state approach of the Skyrme model. In this approach, all the quadrupole
moments of the decuplets are found to be proportional to the third component of
the baryon isospin. Contrary to the SU(3) collective model, the kaonic
contribution is as important as the pionic one. The transitional quadrupole
moments of the hyperons are also predicted.Comment: 7 pages, REVTeX 3.0, no figure, published in Mod. Phys. Lett. A 1
