Determinants of consumersâ intentions to share knowledge and intentions to purchase on s-commerce sites: incorporating attitudes toward persuasion attempts into a social exchange model
This research explores s-commerce usersâ intentions to purchase and to share knowledge by incorporating âattitudes toward persuasion attempts,â âease of use,â and âperceived usefulnessâ into a social exchange theory model. A survey using an on-site purposive sampling technique was used to recruit the respondents, and an interception technique was used to approach the consumers. A total of 471 Korean consumers participated in this research. Based on 471 Korean social-commerce users, our results reveal that social exchange belief factors and a siteâs usability affect user satisfaction, which subsequently affects usersâ intentions to purchase and to share knowledge. In addition, attitudes toward persuasion attempts moderate the effect of satisfaction on usersâ purchase intentions.

Transforming the Governance of Plan-Making in Hong Kong
Purpose
â This paper seeks to examine changing planâmaking governance processes in Hong Kong and identifies factors leading to the changes.
Design/methodology/approach
â Both primary and secondary sources of data were collected. Various stakeholders were interviewed and analysis of Hong Kong planning policies, ordinances and guidelines was undertaken.
Findings
â Since the late 1990s, planâmaking in Hong Kong has undergone a major shift in governance from that of an elitistâled proâgrowth mode to one with more community engagement, environmental consciousness and sustainability. The Southeast Kowloon development scheme played a crucial role in triggering this shift.
Research limitations/implications
â The paper focuses solely on one of the three planning systems in Hong Kong, planâmaking.
Practical implications
â This paper provides a comprehensive discussion of the changing governing processes of Hong Kong's planâmaking and will be useful for policyâmakers when examining whether ruling strategies are responding well to changing circumstances. It also contributes to the existing governance literature by offering some insights into the nature of governance and the methodologies for studying it.
Originality/value
â There is little literature linking governance and urban planning in Hong Kong. The paper offers a useful background and a framework for future studies
