Research on Policies to Support Telecommuting in China
Telecommuting (or Telework) is now relaxing more and more workers from traditional 9-to-5 routines in many countries. In this paper, we do some research on China’s actuality, and try to give out some reasonable suggestions to support Telecommuting, on the basis of learning from the developed countries
Towards Verifying the Geometric Robustness of Large-scale Neural Networks
Deep neural networks (DNNs) are known to be vulnerable to adversarial
geometric transformation. This paper aims to verify the robustness of
large-scale DNNs against the combination of multiple geometric transformations
with a provable guarantee. Given a set of transformations (e.g., rotation,
scaling, etc.), we develop GeoRobust, a black-box robustness analyser built
upon a novel global optimisation strategy, for locating the worst-case
combination of transformations that affect and even alter a network's output.
GeoRobust can provide provable guarantees on finding the worst-case combination
based on recent advances in Lipschitzian theory. Due to its black-box nature,
GeoRobust can be deployed on large-scale DNNs regardless of their
architectures, activation functions, and the number of neurons. In practice,
GeoRobust can locate the worst-case geometric transformation with high
precision for the ResNet50 model on ImageNet in a few seconds on average. We
examined 18 ImageNet classifiers, including the ResNet family and vision
transformers, and found a positive correlation between the geometric robustness
of the networks and the parameter numbers. We also observe that increasing the
depth of DNN is more beneficial than increasing its width in terms of improving
its geometric robustness. Our tool GeoRobust is available at

Antecedents of Return on Venture Capital Investment – Evidence From Chinese Growth Enterprise Market
This study examined how enterprise growth factors affect the return on venture capital investment for enterprises listed on Chinese Growth Enterprise Market (GEM). Using a sample of 235 venture capital backed enterprises listed on Chinese GEM over three years, we collected data from each company’s prospectus and listing documents. We also collected data from Chinese QINGKE Research Center Database. We found that (1) three growth factors (profitability, operational capability and innovation capability) were positively associated with venture capital return. (2) Both the composite growth indicator and the optimized composite growth indicator are positively related to venture capital return. The theoretical and practical implications are discussed
Function of Brassica napus BnABI3 in Arabidopsis gs1, an Allele of AtABI3, in Seed Development and Stress Response
Abscisic acid (ABA) has been implicated in plant adaptation to various environmental stresses in addition to the regulation of seed dormancy and leaf senescence. ABI3 is a B3 domain-containing family protein and functions in the ABA signaling pathway during seed development. To date, the ABI3 orthologous have not been studied in Brassica napus. The aim of this study is to investigate the function of BnABI3 in plant development and stress response. Here, we identified an Arabidopsis line (gs1) from a population of mutagenized seeds and showed that GS1 is a new allele of AtABI3. When the Arabidopsis gs1 mutant was transformed with the BnABI3 gene, the transformed plants produced seeds that turned yellow and acquired desiccation tolerance. Moreover, BnABI3 regulates seed coat development and mucilage secretion by directly targeting the AtMUM1 and AtGATL5 genes. In addition, we showed that BnABI3 expression rescued gs1 freezing-induced green seed coloration by targeting AtSGR1/2 in transgenic Arabidopsis. BnABI3 is also involved in lateral root development and conferred a novel interaction between ABA and auxin signaling in roots. The potential role of ABI3 protein in endoplasmic reticulum homoeostasis was also tested. Altogether, our results indicated that BnABI3 mediates both plant development and the stress response
