    Helicity hardens the gas

A screw generally works better than a nail, or a complicated rope knot better than a simple one, in fastening solid matter, but a gas is more tameless. However, a flow itself has a physical quantity, helicity, measuring the screwing strength of the velocity field and the degree of the knottedness of the vorticity ropes. It is shown that helicity favors the partition of energy to the vortical modes, compared to others such as the dilatation and pressure modes of turbulence; that is, helicity stiffens the flow, with nontrivial implications for aerodynamics, such as aeroacoustics, and conducting fluids, among others

Common Fixed Point for Self-Mappings Satisfying an Implicit Lipschitz-Type Condition in Kaleva-Seikkala's Type Fuzzy Metric Spaces

We first introduce the new real function class ℱ satisfying an implicit Lipschitz-type condition. Then, by using ℱ-type real functions, some common fixed point theorems for a pair of self-mappings satisfying an implicit Lipschitz-type condition in fuzzy metric spaces (in the sense of Kaleva and Seikkala) are established. As applications, we obtain the corresponding common fixed point theorems in metric spaces. Also, some examples are given, which show that there exist mappings which satisfy the conditions in this paper but cannot satisfy the general contractive type conditions

Top quark decays with flavor violation in the B-LSSM

The decays of top quark tcγ,  tcg,  tcZ,  tcht\rightarrow c\gamma,\;t\rightarrow cg,\;t\rightarrow cZ,\;t\rightarrow ch are extremely rare processes in the standard model (SM). The predictions on the corresponding branching ratios in the SM are too small to be detected in the future, hence any measurable signal for the processes at the LHC is a smoking gun for new physics. In the extension of minimal supersymmetric standard model with an additional local U(1)BLU(1)_{B-L} gauge symmetry (B-LSSM), new gauge interaction and new flavor changing interaction affect the theoretical evaluations on corresponding branching ratios of those processes. In this work, we analyze those processes in the B-LSSM, under a minimal flavor violating assumption for the soft breaking terms. Considering the constraints from updated experimental data, the numerical results imply Br(tcγ)5×107Br(t\rightarrow c\gamma)\sim5\times10^{-7}, Br(tcg)2×106Br(t\rightarrow cg)\sim2\times10^{-6}, Br(tcZ)4×107Br(t\rightarrow cZ)\sim4\times10^{-7} and Br(tch)3×109Br(t\rightarrow ch)\sim3\times10^{-9} in our chosen parameter space. Simultaneously, new gauge coupling constants gB,  gYBg_{_B},\;g_{_{YB}} in the B-LSSM can also affect the numerical results of Br(tcγ,  cg,  cZ,  ch)Br(t\rightarrow c\gamma,\;cg,\;cZ,\;ch).Comment: 20 pages, 4 figures, published in EPJC. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1803.0990

Femoral vein intubation is widely in clinical practice due to its simplicity of operator and easy to puncture. However, improper catheter puncture site can increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis. Pulmonary embolism may occur without timely treatment, which results in increased mortality, it will also increase the cost of treatment, and therefore the prevention of deep vein thrombosis is very important. The paper introduced the definition of deep venous thrombosis of lower limbs during femoral vein intubation, its causes, diagnoses and treatment. It also presented bundles of care for prevention of deep venous thrombosis.
