A unified numerical model for simulating solidification transport phenomena (STP) of steel slab in electromagnetic continuous casting (EMCC) process was developed. In order to solve the multi-physics fields coupled problem conveniently, the complicated bidirectional coupled process between EM and STP was simplified as a unidirectional one, and a FEM/FVM-combined numerical simulation technique was adopted. The traveling magnetic fields (TMFs) applied to the EMCC process were calculated using the ANSYS11.0 software, and then the EM-data output by ANSYS were converted to FVM-format using a data-format conversion program developed previously. Thereafter, the governing equations were solved using a pressure-based Direct-SIMPLE algorithm. The simulation results of the STP in CC-process show that, due to the influences of Lorentz force and Joule heat, the two strong circulating flows and the temperature field can be obviously damped and changed once TMF with one pair of poles (1-POPs) or 2-POPs is applied, which would accordingly improve the quality of casting. It was found in the present research that the integrated actions of 2-POPs TMF are superior to 1-POPs. All the computations indicate that the present numerical model of EM-STP as well as the FEM/FVM-combined technique is successful

Cecal CircRNAs Are Associated With the Response to Salmonella Enterica Serovar Enteritidis Inoculation in the Chicken

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of endogenous noncoding RNA, which is different from linear RNA. CircRNA is an RNA molecule with a closed loop structure formed by reverse splicing. CircRNAs have been studied in several organisms, however, the circRNAs associated with the response to Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis (SE) inoculation in chickens are still unclear. In the current study, Jining Bairi chickens were inoculated with SE. CircRNAs involved in the response to SE inoculation were identified through next-generation sequencing. Our results showed that there were 5,118 circRNAs identified in the control and treated groups. There were 62 circRNAs significantly differentially expressed following SE inoculation. Functional classification revealed that those significantly differentially expressed circRNAs were associated with immune system process, rhythmic process and signaling following SE inoculation. CircRNAs NC_006091.4: 65510578|65515090, NC_006099.4: 16132825|16236906, and NC_006099.4: 15993284|16006290 play important roles in the response to SE inoculation. The findings in the current study provide evidence that circRNA alterations are involved in the response to SE inoculation in the chicken

Corporate finance and governance in emerging markets: A selective review and an agenda for future research

    No full text
There are important organizational and behavioral differences between firms in emerging markets and those in developed markets. We propose a top-down approach to understand how key institutional forces shape the structures and policies of firms in emerging markets. We review a selective set of prior studies as well as papers included in this Special Issue in identifying government quality, state ownership, and financial development as critical institutional forces that shape the financing and governance of firms in emerging markets. We suggest that future research should pay attention to several important but unanswered topics related to informal enforcement, government incentives, family firms, and network organizations. International audienceIn order to meet the requirement of national modern rabbit husbandry and breeding management, based on animal breeding theory and the computer application technology, the Modern Rabbit Management Software that can run on Windows9X/Me/NT/2000 /XP was programmed with Visual FoxPro9.0, which could enhance veracity and efficiency of selection & breeding of rabbit. The software could perform the selection of rabbit, the request of breeding and the tasks of production management for different scale rabbit farms. The software show it’s convenience to operation and efficiency to breeding management from the using in six rabbit farms, which had great auto-action to implement production management automatization of rabbit farms and improve the efficiency of breeding

Analysis of Factors Affecting Optical Performance of GaN-Based Micro-LEDs with Quantum Dots Films

Optical performance in terms of light efficiency, color crosstalk and ambient contrast ratio were analyzed for blue GaN-based micro-light emitting diodes (micro-LEDs) combined with red/green quantum dots (QDs)-polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) films. The thickness and mass ratio of QDs films are two critical factors in affecting the performance of micro-LEDs. Firstly, the precise optical modeling of QDs-PMMA films is established based on the double integrating sphere (DIS) testing system and inverse adding doubling algorithm (IADA) theory. Red and green QDs-PMMA films are composed of ZnCdSe/ZnS QDs and green ZnCdSeS/ZnS QDs, respectively. The fundamental optical parameters of QDs-PMMA films, including scattering, absorption and anisotropy coefficients, are obtained successfully. Secondly, based on these optical parameters, the Monte Carlo ray tracing method is applied to analyze the effect of a QDs-PMMA film’s thickness and mass ratio on the optical performance of micro-LEDs. Results reveal that the light efficiency first increases and then decreases with the increase of a QDs film’s thickness or mass ratio, owing to the scattering characteristics of QDs. Different from the variation tendencies of light efficiency, the crosstalk between adjacent pixels increases as the QDs-PMMA film’s thickness or mass ratio increases, and the ambient contrast ratio is kept stable when the thickness increases. The mass ratio variation of QDs film can change the optical performance of micro-LEDs more effectively than thickness, which demonstrates that mass ratio is a more important factor affecting the optical performance of micro-LEDs
