    Research on the development of thesaurus in China

    Based on the statistics of 130 thesauri having been published in China so far, this article analyzes the development of thesauri in China from the origin, publication year, academic disciplines and quantity of entries collected, and re-defines the development stages. In addition, by collecting the 1,000 relevant research papers, the article also analyzes the theoretical studies from the aspects of the quantity of papers and research subjects in order to give a clear picture of the development and features of the researches on thesaurus in China.</p

    How do Patients with Chronic Diseases Make Usage Decisions Regarding Mobile Health Monitoring Services?

    The increasing population of patients with chronic diseases generates great challenge of chronic disease management. The occurrence of mobile health monitoring service is beneficial to chronic disease prevention and health promotion. The objective of this study is to investigate how the patients with chronic diseases make usage decisions on mobile health monitoring service. A survey comprising 261 subjects were conducted to validate the research model and proposed hypotheses. The results revealed that health severity positively influences mobile health monitoring service use intention, while negative health emotions do not. Health uncertainty avoidance strengthens the effect of health severity but weakens the effect of negative health emotions on mobile health monitoring service use intention. Limitations and implications for research and practice are discussed

    A Personalization-Privacy Paradox in Usage of Mobile Health Services: A Game Theoretic Perspective

    As health information privacy concern of the public raises, people are hesitant on disclosure of their private health information for personalized health services from using mobile health. The tension between personalization and privacy hinders users’ adoption of mobile health services. In this study, we draw on game theory to explain the personalization-privacy paradox in the usage of mobile health services. The results show that: (1) In a one-shot game, the strategy set of mobile health marketers and users will be contrary to their original motivations. (2) In a repeated game, collecting users’ private health information in a friendly way and disclosing private health information will be dominant strategies for both players. Managers need to pay attention to these scenarios in promoting usage of mobile health services

    Separation and Identification of HSP-Associated Protein Complexes from Pancreatic Cancer Cell Lines Using 2D CN/SDS-PAGE Coupled with Mass Spectrometry

    Protein complexes are a cornerstone of many biological processes and together they form various types of molecular machinery. A broad understanding of these protein complexes is crucial for revealing and building models of protein function and regulation. Pancreatic cancer is a highly lethal disease which is difficult to diagnose at early stage and even more difficult to cure. In this study, we applied a gradient clear native gel system combined with subsequent second-dimensional SDS-PAGE to separate protein complexes from cell lysates of SW1990 and PANC-1 pancreatic cancer cell lines with different degrees of differentiation. Ten heat-shock-protein- (HSP-) associated protein complexes were separated and identified, and the differentially expressed proteins related to cancers were also found, such as HSP60, protein disulfide-isomerase A4 (ERp72), and transitional endoplasmic reticulum ATPase (TER ATPase)

    The influence of institutional fragility on corporate cash holdings: evidence from China

    This study examines the relationship between institutional fragility and corporate cash holdings. Using data from China between 2004 and 2017, we find that institutional fragility is associated with increased corporate cash holdings. The relationship is stronger for non-state-owned enterprises and stronger when firms have no relationship with banks. Furthermore, we find that institutional fragility reduces current investment opportunities, leading to an increase in corporate cash holdings. Investment opportunities play an intermediary effect; hence, institutional fragility affects corporate cash holding

    Occupancy-MAE: Self-supervised Pre-training Large-scale LiDAR Point Clouds with Masked Occupancy Autoencoders

    Current perception models in autonomous driving heavily rely on large-scale labelled 3D data, which is both costly and time-consuming to annotate. This work proposes a solution to reduce the dependence on labelled 3D training data by leveraging pre-training on large-scale unlabeled outdoor LiDAR point clouds using masked autoencoders (MAE). While existing masked point autoencoding methods mainly focus on small-scale indoor point clouds or pillar-based large-scale outdoor LiDAR data, our approach introduces a new self-supervised masked occupancy pre-training method called Occupancy-MAE, specifically designed for voxel-based large-scale outdoor LiDAR point clouds. Occupancy-MAE takes advantage of the gradually sparse voxel occupancy structure of outdoor LiDAR point clouds and incorporates a range-aware random masking strategy and a pretext task of occupancy prediction. By randomly masking voxels based on their distance to the LiDAR and predicting the masked occupancy structure of the entire 3D surrounding scene, Occupancy-MAE encourages the extraction of high-level semantic information to reconstruct the masked voxel using only a small number of visible voxels. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of Occupancy-MAE across several downstream tasks. For 3D object detection, Occupancy-MAE reduces the labelled data required for car detection on the KITTI dataset by half and improves small object detection by approximately 2% in AP on the Waymo dataset. For 3D semantic segmentation, Occupancy-MAE outperforms training from scratch by around 2% in mIoU. For multi-object tracking, Occupancy-MAE enhances training from scratch by approximately 1% in terms of AMOTA and AMOTP.     Occ-BEV: Multi-Camera Unified Pre-training via 3D Scene Reconstruction

    Multi-camera 3D perception has emerged as a prominent research field in autonomous driving, offering a viable and cost-effective alternative to LiDAR-based solutions. However, existing multi-camera algorithms primarily rely on monocular image pre-training, which overlooks the spatial and temporal correlations among different camera views. To address this limitation, we propose a novel multi-camera unified pre-training framework called Occ-BEV, which involves initially reconstructing the 3D scene as the foundational stage and subsequently fine-tuning the model on downstream tasks. Specifically, a 3D decoder is designed for leveraging Bird's Eye View (BEV) features from multi-view images to predict the 3D geometry occupancy to enable the model to capture a more comprehensive understanding of the 3D environment. One significant advantage of Occ-BEV is that it can utilize a vast amount of unlabeled image-LiDAR pairs for pre-training. The proposed multi-camera unified pre-training framework demonstrates promising results in key tasks such as multi-camera 3D object detection and semantic scene completion. When compared to monocular pre-training methods on the nuScenes dataset, Occ-BEV demonstrates a significant improvement of 2.0% in mAP and 2.0% in NDS for 3D object detection, as well as a 0.8% increase in mIOU for semantic scene completion. codes are publicly available at https://github.com/chaytonmin/Occ-BEV.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figure

    The Time Lags Effects of Innovation Input on Output in National Innovation Systems: The Case of China

    This paper investigates the time lags effects of innovation input on output in the national innovation systems (NIS). Firstly, we analyze the intrinsic properties of China’s NIS based on the conceptual framework and the causal loop diagram. Secondly, we construct a time lags distribution calculation model and employ the main innovation input indicators to measure the specific characteristics of time lags effects of innovation input on output for China in the period 2000–2012. The results indicate that there are considerable time lags in the four major feedback loops, and the distribution of time lags is various according to the characteristics of innovation input and influencing factors in the internal transformation. The trends of time lags from R&D personnel and industry-academia-research collaboration show steady growth, and the trends of time lags from R&D expenditure and government’s macro-control take inverted U-shaped pattern. Finally, we combine the estimation results of lags distribution calculation model with the analysis results of the causal loop diagram (including positive loops and negative loops) to provide some innovation policy suggestions. This study provides important implications for our understanding of the long-term complex lags effects of innovation input on output as well as for policy-makers designing and implementing the innovation strategies

    Experimental Study on Physical Simulation of Large-Scale Interfracture Injection and Production with Different Injection Media in Tight Oil Reservoirs

    AbstractGiven the difficulty of water injection and effective displacement system establishment in Changqing oilfield, this research carried out the interfracture injection and production experiment of a large outcrop model with two types of injection fluid medium, natural gas and surfactant, and studied the interfracture injection and production law of different displacing medium and the principal contradiction existing in the different displacing medium. The results show that natural gas drive in tight oil reservoir is beneficial to reduce the Jamin resistance and form a rapid oil production. Still, the gas drive process is easy to develop gas breakthrough, leading to a decrease in gas utilization ratio, and its oil displacement efficiency is 17.25%. Additionally, due to the strong adsorption of surfactant, the seepage capacity of a porous medium in the process of surfactant-oil displacement is reduced, and blockage is formed at the injection end, resulting in the poor oil displacement effect of surfactant. However, compared with natural gas injection, the surfactant has higher oil displacement efficiency, up to 22.05%. Therefore, for tight oil reservoirs, rational utilization of the advantages of different mediums and controlling their disadvantages are essential for the development of such reservoirs

    A HIV-1 heterosexual transmission chain in Guangzhou, China: a molecular epidemiological study

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>We conducted molecular analyses to confirm four clustering HIV-1 infections (Patient A, B, C & D) in Guangzhou, China. These cases were identified by epidemiological investigation and suspected to acquire the infection through a common heterosexual transmission chain.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p><it>Env C2V3V4 </it>region, <it>gag p17/p24 </it>junction and partial <it>pol </it>gene of HIV-1 genome from serum specimens of these infected cases were amplified by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and nucleotide sequenced.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Phylogenetic analyses indicated that their viral nucleotide sequences were significantly clustered together (bootstrap value is 99%, 98% and 100% in <it>env</it>, <it>gag </it>and <it>pol </it>tree respectively). Evolutionary distance analysis indicated that their genetic diversities of <it>env</it>, <it>gag </it>and <it>pol </it>genes were significantly lower than non-clustered controls, as measured by unpaired <it>t</it>-test (<it>env </it>gene comparison: <it>p </it>< 0.005; <it>gag </it>gene comparison: <it>p </it>< 0.005; <it>pol </it>gene comparison: <it>p </it>< 0.005).</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Epidemiological results and molecular analyses consistently illustrated these four cases represented a transmission chain which dispersed in the locality through heterosexual contact involving commercial sex worker.</p
