Parental Autonomy Support and Psychological Well-Being in Tibetan and Han Emerging Adults: A Serial Multiple Mediation Model
A growing body of research has explored well-being in diverse cultural contexts, and indicates that the definition and perception of well-being vary according to cultural context. Little is known, however, about whether intercultural differences in China (i.e., Tibetan and Han) lead to different perceptions of well-being and how social contexts and personal characteristics are associated with well-being in Tibetan and Han emerging adults. Using a self-determination framework, the current study examines the relationship between parental autonomy support (PAS) and psychological well-being (PWB) in Tibetan and Han emerging adults in China. Guided by implicit theory and self-regulatory theory, we propose a serial multiple mediation model of growth mindset and grit in the association between PAS and PWB. Propensity score matching was used to balance the two ethnic groups in terms of age, gender, socioeconomic status (SES), with a ratio of one to two. Finally, 59 Tibetan (71.2% girls) and 118 Han (69.5% girls) emerging adults aged from 18 to 25 years were included in the current study, and completed an online questionnaire survey. Findings suggest that (a) Tibetan emerging adults perceived higher levels of PWB than their peers from the Han ethnic group; (b) a serial multiple mediation model for the association between PAS and PWB was supported in Han emerging adults; (c) the indirect effects between PAS and PWB varied between Tibetan and Han emerging adults. Our findings suggest that PAS and grit contribute to PWB of emerging adults in both cultural contexts, whereas growth mindset may be beneficial for Han emerging adults only
Problematic Internet Use in early adolescence: The role of attachment and negative beliefs about worry
AbstractBackground and aimsProblematic Internet Use (PIU) might be a potential mental health problem. Few studies have investigated the relative contribution of individual and family factors in the development of PIU in early adolescence. The aim of the current study was to model the relationship between attachment styles, negative beliefs about worry, and PIU in early adolescence.MethodsFive hundred and thirty-eight Italian early adolescents (51% females, M age = 12.7 years, SD = 0.87) were included in this study. The pattern of relationships specified by the theoretical model was examined through path analysis.ResultsResults showed that avoidance (mother) and anxiety (father) were directly associated with PIU. Anxiety (mother) and avoidance (father) were indirectly associated with PIU via negative beliefs about worry.Discussion and conclusionsOverall, our findings show that attachment toward mother and father are differently linked to PIU and that negative beliefs about worry may play a mediating role in the association between attachment and PIU. Findings are discussed within clinical and preventive implications
Teacher Autonomy Support and Internalizing Problems of Adolescents from Divorced and Intact Families: Moderation by Personality Typologies
The present research compared internalizing problems of adolescents who experienced parental divorce with those of adolescents who remained in intact families. Furthermore, this research investigated the association of teacher autonomy support with adolescents' internalizing problems for the whole sample and further ascertained whether this association was moderated by distinctive personality profiles using a person-centered approach and family structures (divorced vs. intact families). A sample of 2756 Chinese adolescents (8.5% from divorced families), aged 13-18 years, participated in the present research. They completed a set of self-reported questionnaires during school hours. Results based on ANCOVA showed that adolescents who experienced parental divorce reported higher internalizing problems than did those who remained in intact families. Moreover, latent profile analysis revealed three personality profiles: psychopathic (22.7%), normative (56.4%), and resilient (20.9%). In addition, teacher autonomy support was negatively related to adolescents' internalizing problems in the overall sample. However, interaction analyses further exhibited that this association was insignificant for psychopathic adolescents who experienced parental divorce. The current findings indicate that although teacher autonomy support may protect adolescents from internalizing problems, psychopathic adolescents whose parents got divorced should be paid exceptional attention by mental health professionals and school counselors
Weighted Least Squared Approach to Fault Detection and Isolation for GPS Integrity Monitoring
Reliability of a global navigation satellite system is one of great importance for global navigation purposes. Therefore, an integrity monitoring system is an inseparable part of aviation navigation system. Failures or faults due to malfunctions in the systems should be detected to keep the integrity of the system intact. In order to solve the problem that least squares method detects and isolates a satellite fault for GPS integrity monitoring, in this paper, a weighted least squares algorithm is proposed for satellite fault detection and isolation. The algorithm adopts the diagonal elements of the covariance matrix of GPS measurement equation as the weighted factor. Firstly, the weighted least squares approach for satellite fault detection establishes the test statistic by the sum of the squares of the pseudo-range residuals of each satellite for GPS. Then, the detection threshold is obtained by the false alarm rate of the fault detection, probability density function and visiable satellite number.The effectiveness of the proposed approach is illustrated in a problem of GPS (Global Positioning System) autonomous integrity monitoring system. Through the real raw measured GPS data,based on least squares RAIM method and the weighted least squares RAIM approach, the performance of the two algorithms is compared. The results show that the proposed RAIM approach is superior to the least squares RAIM algorithm in the sensitivity of fault detection and fault isolation performance for GPS integrity monitoring

Both molecules are located on crystallographic inversion centers. The O—H⋯N hydrogen-bonded chains are assembled into two-dimensional layers through weak C—H⋯O and strong π–π stacking interactions [centroid–centroid distance = 3.818 (2) Å], leading to the formation of a three-dimensional supramolecular structure
Linking classmate autonomy support with prosocial behavior in Chinese left-behind adolescents: The moderating role of self-esteem and grit
Framed in a positive youth development framework, the current study examines the association of classmate autonomy support with prosocial behavior in Chinese left-behind adolescents (i.e., adolescents who remain immobile in original regions when one or both of their parents have migrated to find work). Moreover, this study investigates whether left-behind adolescents' individual differences in self-esteem and grit moderated this association. To address these research aims, we examined these associations across two independent samples of left-behind adolescents [Study 1 (exploratory): N = 333, Mage = 13.16, SD = 1.67; 48.3% girls; Study 2 (confirmatory): N = 246, Mage = 15.78, SD = 1.50; 53.6% girls] recruited from different regions of mainland China. Study 1 showed that classmate autonomy support was positively correlated with prosocial behavior; self-esteem and grit moderated this association: for adolescents with low self-esteem, high grit was an important protective factor, fostering the positive association between classmate autonomy support and prosocial behavior. Furthermore, Study 2 replicated the results of Study 1 but also exhibited that, for adolescents with high self-esteem, high grit significantly buffered against the negative effect of low classmate autonomy support on adolescents' prosocial behavior. Taken together, the current study suggests that classmate autonomy support plays a crucial role in facilitating left-behind youths' prosocial behavior, and this association is differentiated by adolescents' self-esteem and grit
How can digital economy development empower high-quality economic development?
The role of the digital economy in economic transformation is increasingly prominent. This paper empirically examines how the digital economy affects TFP and its mechanism using Chinese provincial panel data. The results show that the impact of the digital economy on regional TFP is U-shaped. Further studies show that digital economy development may improve regional TFP through two channels: stimulating innovation and promoting entrepreneurship. In addition, we also discuss the role of active government, effective market, and high-level judicial protection in digital economic policies improving economic growth. Based on our research results, we put forward some policy recommendations.

Diagnosis and treatment of Robert’s uterus combined with transverse uterine septum: a case report and review of the literature
BackgroundRobert’s uterus combined with transverse uterine septum is a rare uterine malformation. Only one case has been reported to date, and it is challenging to diagnose and treat.Case presentationHere we report the case of a 19-year-old female had undergone multiple treatments at a previous hospital for primary amenorrhea and periodic lower abdominal pain, with the cause remaining unclear. Ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging conducted at our hospital displayed the presence of uterine dysplasia with an incomplete septum. Following a multidisciplinary discussion, a preliminary diagnosis of Robert’s uterus combined with transverse uterine septum was made. Following this, laparoscopic exploration and ultrasound-guided hysteroscopic metroplasty were performed. The patient experienced periodic menstruation postoperatively and did not manifest periodic lower abdominal pain.ConclusionRobert’s uterus combined with transverse uterine septum is a very rare uterine malformation, with hysteroscopic metroplasty being the preferred surgical option. Nevertheless, preoperative diagnosis is extremely difficult, and there are also many difficulties in the surgical process. This case outlines the diagnostic and treatment process of a patient with Robert’s uterus and transverse uterine septum. It is of great significance to fill the gap in clinical diagnosis and treatment of this special uterine malformation
Downward social comparison positively promotes altruism: the multi-mediating roles of belief in a just world and general life satisfaction
IntroductionThis study examined the underlying mechanism of the relationship between downward social comparison (DSC) and altruism through two conceptually important but rarely studied factors: belief in a just world (BJW) and general life satisfaction (GLS).MethodsThe study utilized a two-time-point design, spaced 2 months apart, with a sample of 1,764 college students from China. The study measured DSC, altruism, BJW, and GLS.ResultsThe findings revealed a significant positive predictive effect of DSC on college students’ altruism and belief in a just world (BJW). Notably, GLS emerged as a multi-mediating factor in this relationship. The study also revealed that both subscales of BJW, namely personal belief in a just world (PBJW) and general belief in a just world (GBJW), played distinct roles in the mediation model. PBJW exhibited a stronger mediating effect, suggesting that DSC can foster individual altruism and BJW. Particularly, BJW was identified as enhancing GLS, subsequently promoting altruistic behavior.ConclusionThis study contributes to the existing literature on social comparison by shedding light on the relationship between DSC, altruism, and the mediating role of belief in a just world and GLS. The findings underscore the potential for promoting altruistic behavior among college students through interventions targeting beliefs in a just world, especially at the personal level, and enhancing GLS
