Neutron Density Distributions of Neutron-Rich Nuclei Studied with the Isobaric Yield Ratio Difference
The isobaric yield ratio difference (IBD) between two reactions of similar
experimental setups is found to be sensitive to nuclear density differences
between projectiles. In this article, the IBD probe is used to study the
density variation in neutron-rich Ca. By adjusting diffuseness in the
neutron density distribution, three different neutron density distributions of
Ca are obtained. The yields of fragments in the 80 MeV Ca
+ C reactions are calculated by using a modified statistical
abrasion-ablation model. It is found that the IBD results obtained from the
prefragments are sensitive to the density distribution of the projectile, while
the IBD results from the final fragments are less sensitive to the density
distribution of the projectile.Comment: 3 figure
Painlev\'e property, local and nonlocal symmetries and symmetry reductions for a (2+1)-dimensional integrable KdV equation
The Painlev\'e property for a (2+1)-dimensional Korteweg-de Vries (KdV)
extension, the combined KP3 (Kadomtsev- Petviashvili) and KP4 (cKP3-4) is
proved by using Kruskal's simplification. The truncated Painlev\'e expansion is
used to find the Schwartz form, the B\"acklund/Levi transformations and the
residual nonlocal symmetry. The residual symmetry is localized to find its
finite B\"acklund transformation. The local point symmetries of the model
constitute a centerless Kac-Moody-Virasoro algebra. The local point symmetries
are used to find the related group invariant reductions including a new Lax
integrable model with a fourth order spectral problem. The finite
transformation theorem or the Lie point symmetry group is obtained by using a
direct method.Comment: 9 page
The Role of Histone Acetyltransferases in Normal and Malignant Hematopoiesis
Histone or non-histone protein acetylation plays important roles in all kinds of cellular events, including the normal and abnormal development of blood cells, through changing the epigenetic status of chromatin and regulating non-histone proteinās function. Histone acetyltransferases (HATs), which are the enzymes responsible for the histone or non-histone protein acetylation, contain p300/CBP, MYST and GNAT family etc. HATs are not only the protein modifiers and epigenetic factors, but also the critical regulators of cell development and cancerogenesis. Here we will review the function of HATs such as p300/CBP, Tip60, MOZ/MORF and GCN5/PCAF in the normal hematopoiesis and the pathogenesis of hematological malignancies. The inhibitors that have been developed to target HATs will also be reviewed here. Understanding the roles of HATs in normal/malignant hematopoiesis and the underlying mechanism will provide the potential therapeutic targets for the hematological malignancies
Thermal conductivity, structure and mechanical properties of konjac glucomannan/starch based aerogel strengthened by wheat straw
This study presents the preparation and property characterization of a konjac glucomannan (KGM)/starch based aerogel as a thermal insulation material. Wheat straw powders (a kind of agricultural waste) and starch are used to enhance aerogel physical properties such as mechanical strength and pore size distribution. Aerogel samples were made using environmentally friendly solāgel and freeze drying methods. Results show that starch addition could strengthen the mechanical strength of aerogel significantly, and wheat straw addition could decrease aerogel pore size due to its special micron-cavity structure, with appropriate gelatin addition as the stabilizer. The aerogel formula was optimized to achieve lowest thermal conductivity and good thermal stability. Within the experimental range, aerogel with the optimized formula had a thermal conductivity 0.04641āÆWmā1āÆKā1, a compression modulus 67.5āÆkPa and an elasticity 0.27. The results demonstrate the high potential of KGM/starch based aerogels enhanced with wheat straw for application in thermal insulation
