In the title compound, (C11H18N4)[Ni(C4N2S2)2], the asymmetric contains one half-complex, with the cation placed on a twofold axis and the anion located on an inversion center. The NiII ion in the anion is coordinated by four S atoms of two maleonitriledithiolate ligands, and exhibits the expected square-planar coordination geometry

The chromosomes of Chlamys farreri, Patinopecten yessoensis, and Argopecten irradians were studied by FISH using C. farreri C0t-1 DNA probes. The results showed that C0t-1 DNA signals spread on all chromosomes in the three scallops, whereas signal density and intensity were different strikingly. Clustering brighter signals presented in the centromeric and telomeric regions of most C. farreri chromosomes, and in the centromeric or pericentromeric regions of several P. yessoensis chromosomes. Comparative analysis of the mapping indicated a relatively higher homology in the repetitive DNA sequences of the genome between C. farreri and P. yessoensis than that between C. farreri and A. irradians. In addition, FISH showed that the distribution of C0t-1 DNA clustering signals in C. farreri displayed completely similar signal bands between homologous chromosomes. Based on the C0t-1 DNA fluorescent bands, a more exact karyotype of C. farreri has been obtained. In this study, the comparative analysis based on C0t-1 DNA provides a new insight into the chromosomal reconstructions during the evolution process, and it is helpful for understanding an important source of genomic diversity, species relationships, and genome evolution

Theoretical study of the influence of Na on CO adsorption and dissociation on Pd(1 1 1): Long-range or short-range interactions between co-adsorbates?

a b s t r a c t The co-adsorption of CO and C, O on Na pre-covered Pd(1 1 1) surface are studied by density functional theory (DFT). CO adsorption is affected by the short-range Na-CO electrostatic interactions, especially the Na-O attraction, and the Na-induced long-range surface polarizability as well as the indirect interactions through substrates. Na stabilizes C and O adsorptions, particularly O adsorption, though both C-Pd and O-Pd bonds are elongated. Na reduces CO dissociation barrier by $25%. The promotional effects are primarily ascribed to the short-range Na-O electrostatic interaction which stabilizes the transitional state. The Na-induced long-range effects are not significant and hardly promote CO dissociation

Experimental Generation of Spin-Photon Entanglement in Silicon Carbide

A solid-state approach for quantum networks is advantages, as it allows the integration of nanophotonics to enhance the photon emission and the utilization of weakly coupled nuclear spins for long-lived storage. Silicon carbide, specifically point defects within it, shows great promise in this regard due to the easy of availability and well-established nanofabrication techniques. Despite of remarkable progresses made, achieving spin-photon entanglement remains a crucial aspect to be realized. In this paper, we experimentally generate entanglement between a silicon vacancy defect in silicon carbide and a scattered single photon in the zero-phonon line. The spin state is measured by detecting photons scattered in the phonon sideband. The photonic qubit is encoded in the time-bin degree-of-freedom and measured using an unbalanced Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Photonic correlations not only reveal the quality of the entanglement but also verify the deterministic nature of the entanglement creation process. By harnessing two pairs of such spin-photon entanglement, it becomes straightforward to entangle remote quantum nodes at long distance.Comment: 8 pages in total, 4 figures in the main text, 1 figure in the supplemental materia
