Is the meson dynamically generated?
We study the problem whether the meson is generated `dynamically'. A
pedagogical analysis on the toy O(N) linear sigma model is performed and we
find that the large limit and the limit does not
commute. The sigma meson may not necessarily be described as a dynamically
generated resonance. On the contrary, the sigma meson may be more appropriately
described by considering it as an explicit degree of freedom in the effective
lagrangian.Comment: Contribution to ``Quark Confinement and Hadron Spectrum VII'', 2--7

On the scalar nonet in the extended Nambu Jona-Lasinio model
We discuss the lightest scalar resonances, , ,
and in the extended Nambu Jona-Lasinio model. We find
that the model parameters can be tuned, but unnaturally, to accommodate for
those scalars except the . We also discuss problems encountered in
the K Matrix unitarization approximation by using counting technique.Comment: 23 pages 3 eps figures, To appear in Nucl. Phys.
On the nature of the lightest scalar resonances
We briefly review the recent progresses in the new unitarization approach
being developed by us. Especially we discuss the large
scatterings by making use of the partial wave matrix parametrization form.
We find that the pole may move to the negative real axis on the second
sheet of the complex plane, therefore it raises the interesting question
that this `' pole may be related to the in the linear
model.Comment: Talk presented by Zheng at ``Quark Confinement and Hadron

Probing Gluon Saturation through Dihadron Correlations at an Electron-Ion Collider
Two-particle azimuthal angle correlations have been proposed to be one of the
most direct and sensitive probes to access the underlying gluon dynamics
involved in hard scatterings. In anticipation of an Electron-Ion Collider
(EIC), detailed studies of dihadron correlation measurements in electron-proton
and electron-ion collisions at an EIC have been performed. The impact of such
measurements on the understanding of the different gluon distribution
functions, as a clean signature for gluon saturation and to constrain
saturation models further, has been explored. It is shown that dihadron
correlation measurements will be one of the key methods to probe gluon
saturation phenomena at a future EIC.Comment: 13 pages, 13 eps figure
A Sino-German 6cm polarisation survey of the Galactic plane - VIII. Small-diameter sources
Information of small-diameter sources is extracted from the Sino-German 6cm
polarisation survey of the Galactic plane carried out with the Urumqi 25-m
telescope. We performed two-dimensional elliptical Gaussian fits to the 6cm
maps to obtain a list of sources with total-intensity and polarised flux
densities. The source list contains 3832 sources with a fitted diameter smaller
than 16 arcmin and a peak flux density exceeding 30 mJy, so about 5 times the
rms noise, of the total-intensity data. The cumulative source count indicates
completeness for flux densities exceeding about 60 mJy. We identify 125
linearly polarised sources at 6cm with a peak polarisation flux density greater
than 10 mJy, so about 3 times the rms noise, of the polarised-intensity data.
Despite lacking compact steep spectrum sources, the 6cm catalogue lists about
20 percent more sources than the Effelsberg 21cm source catalogue at the same
angular resolution and for the same area. Most of the faint 6cm sources must
have a flat spectrum and are either HII regions or extragalactic. When compared
with the Green Bank 6cm (GB6) catalogue, we obtain higher flux densities for a
number of extended sources with complex structures. Polarised 6cm sources
density are uniformly distributed in Galactic latitude. Their number density
decreases towards the inner Galaxy. More than 80 percent of the polarised
sources are most likely extragalactic. With a few exceptions, the sources have
a higher percentage polarisation at 6cm than at 21cm. Depolarisation seems to
occur mostly within the sources with a minor contribution from the Galactic
foreground emission.Comment: A&A accepted, 9 pages, 5 figures, Tables 1 and 2 are accessible from

Driving light pulses with light in two-level media
A two-level medium, described by the Maxwell-Bloch (MB) system, is engraved
by establishing a standing cavity wave with a linearly polarized
electromagnetic field that drives the medium on both ends. A light pulse,
polarized along the other direction, then scatters the medium and couples to
the cavity standing wave by means of the population inversion density
variations. We demonstrate that control of the applied amplitudes of the
grating field allows to stop the light pulse and to make it move backward
(eventually to drive it freely). A simplified limit model of the MB system with
variable boundary driving is obtained as a discrete nonlinear Schroedinger
equation with tunable external potential. It reproduces qualitatively the
dynamics of the driven light pulse
Joint Iterative Optimization Based Low-Complexity Adaptive Hybrid Beamforming for Massive MU-MIMO Systems
IEEE This paper proposes a joint iterative optimization based hybrid beamforming technique for massive MU-MIMO systems. The proposed technique jointly and iteratively optimizes the transmitter precoders and combiners, aiming to approach the global optimum solution for the system sum-rate maximization problem. The proposed technique develops an adaptive algorithm exploiting the stochastic gradients (SG) of the local beamformers and provides low-complexity closed-form solutions. Furthermore, an efficient adaptive scheme is developed based on the proposed adaptive algorithm and the closed-form solutions. The proposed algorithm requires the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) feedback from each user and a limited size transition vector to be exchanged between the transmitter and receivers at each step to update beamformers locally. Analytic result shows that the proposed adaptive algorithm achieves low-complexity when the array size is large and is able to converge within a small number of iterations. Simulation result shows that the proposed technique is able to achieve superior performance comparing to the existing state-of-art techniques. In addition, the knowledge of instantaneous channel state information (CSI) is not required as the channels are also adaptively estimated with each coherence time which is a practical assumption since the CSI is usually unavailable or have time-varying nature in real-time applications
Critical phenomena and thermodynamic geometry of charged Gauss-Bonnet AdS black holes
In this paper, we study the phase structure and equilibrium state space
geometry of charged topological Gauss-Bonnet black holes in -dimensional
anti-de Sitter spacetime. Several critical points are obtained in the canonical
ensemble, and the critical phenomena and critical exponents near them are
examined. We find that the phase structures and critical phenomena drastically
depend on the cosmological constant and dimensionality . The
result also shows that there exists an analogy between the black hole and the
van der Waals liquid gas system. Moreover, we explore the phase transition and
possible property of the microstructure using the state space geometry. It is
found that the Ruppeiner curvature diverges exactly at the points where the
heat capacity at constant charge of the black hole diverges. This black hole is
also found to be a multiple system, i.e., it is similar to the ideal gas of
fermions in some range of the parameters, while to the ideal gas of bosons in
another range.Comment: 17 pages, 8 figures, 3 table
